I have my dd5 and ds4 booked on the Albatross cruise, and so I'm trying to figure out what to do with DD2 and myself in the duration. Since they will be eating lunch on the cruise, I figured we probably need to eat as well.
can you ell me about the cape May Cafe? How were the characters? Was it pretty busy? And how was the food?
Thanks!

Are you wanting to eat at Cape May for breakfast or dinner? They do not have any characters at dinner only breakfast unless that has changed. We ate there for breakfast a couple of years ago and really enjoyed it. The food was good and fresh and the characters were fun all dressed up in beach clothes.

We ate there this past May for dinner and my whole family loved the clambake. The food was great especially the dessert bar!! We are definitely going back for the clambake next time. The problem was that we ate waaaay too much and were stuffed all night at the park!

We love the breakfast! The characters are a blast and the food is awesome. I have a ton of close up buffet shots from our April trip in my signature

Cape May doesn't serve lunch, so if that's the meal you're after, you'll need to find another place in the area. Beaches & Cream is nearby and is great for burgers and ice cream desserts.

We did the breakfast on our last trip. The character interaction was terrible, but the food was good and it was not very loud in there in comparison to most buffets.

Theri breakfast buffet is very good. We have always like the characters. I don't believe they are open for lunch though. Being from Boston, their "New England" clambake is lacking in comparison, but is still good overall. No characters at dinner.

We had a great time at breakfast there in June. Character interaction was good, and food was excellent. And filling.

If you're looking for other places in the area for lunch: there's a sit-down place at the Yacht Club that serves sandwiches, etc. (The name escapes me...) And there's also the Marketplace at the Beach Club, which has a very good sandwich selection, too. (And gelato!!) You can take your food and eat in the Solarium.

And if you want to take a stroll, you can go over to the BW and try the Big River Grill. It's almost never busy at lunchtime. Great burgers.

The full service restaurant is Captain's Grill. Or if you're "old school", you can call it the "Restaurant formerly known as Yacht Club Galley". ;)

Thinking about going to this place. Thanks for the info.
