I am thinking of taking my DD to Cape May for breakfast before we leave in the morning and wonder how the food and the characters are. Also, how is the service? We usually do Crystal Palace, but I'm thinking we want the time to do Mk since we are only at Disney for one day. We are staying at the BC, so transportation is not an issue.

Cape May is one of our favorite places for breakfast. A must almost every trip. I have never been to Crystal Palace, so I can't compare the two for you. At Cape May the characters are spread out so that they are not one on top of the other coming around. You can eat something while you wait for the next character. We actually had Minnie sit down with us one trip. There is a good varity of foods. I think the last time we went there were plain eggs and eggs with veggies, lots of fresh fruit.

Cape May is my favorite character meal. I like it much better than Crystal Palace because it is more relaxing and I like the characters better and think the food is better. It is a great breakfast with good variety and Mickey waffles! The service was awesome when we were there a few weeks ago.

Cape May was an excellent character breakfast!! Especially if you are staying at the Beach Club, it is so convenient too!!

The character interaction was fantastic at Cape May, and it had a very relaxed atmosphere compared to other character meals. The food was delicious. They had typical eggs, bacon, sausage, Mickey waffles, and also a veggie and cheese omelette (looked kind of like a frittata), their special pan french toast, a fruit and yogurt bar with toppings (delicious granola!), and some delicious breakfast pastries.

We stayed at Boardwalk Villas, and we went to Cape May breakfast on the final morning of our trip this past July. The ONLY reason we're not going there again is because it is a risk for DS5. He is allergic to shellfish, and we tried to go to Cape May for dinner one night...he had a reaction from breathing in the steam from the crab legs at the buffet. This was the first time he had that type of reaction from it. Normally, we eat shellfish around him and he is fine, he just can't ingest it. But since they steam the crab legs right out in the open at Cape May dinner, he was breathing it in while it was being cooked, and he couldn't handle that. The chef at breakfast even said there was a slight chance there would be crab juice on the seat if someone spilled it there the night before. He kept coming back to check on us, and DS5 was fine throughout breakfast. But, we're not going to risk it again. I'm sorry we can't go back there...it's so nice, and relaxing, and a great breakfast right before going home. It was also a very convenient walk from BWV to go there.

We also like Cape May better than CP. It's so much quieter, the CM's don't appear to be rushed and service is always good.

Ditto on the positive Cape May reviews. I love CP, but Cape May is another of my favorites. The food is good and the characters are fabulous.

Cape May Cafe breakfast is our one "must do" meal every trip. The characters do not seem as hurried as at some of the other character breakfasts. The whole atmosphere is more relaxed. We leave September 9 and we have breakfast scheduled at Cape May twice. :yay:

We've never eaten at Crystal Palace for breakfast but we LOVE Cape May :thumbsup2. We do a breakfast there every trip......the characters are dressed in beach clothes and it's a fun place to start your day :goodvibes.

We were at Cape May a few days ago for breakfast. It was a very relaxing character breakfast in that the restaurant wasn't packed and so the characters circulated again and again - I think Minnie came by our table at least 3 times. The food was very good and the service was also good. :dance3:

Love it! It's never really busy, we got a walk up in July, as we had changed our breakfast plans that morning. Love the characters, food and service!

Yummy! Tiger :)

Cape May breakfast is one of our must do character breakfasts. We LOVE this place. The food, service, character interaction, and atmosphere are all awesome. It is funny, when I was making our ADRs for our upcoming trip I had suggested not going here and doing something else instead....both my DDs and my DH gave me such a look and told me I was nuts for even suggesting something else....needless to say, I won't be doing anymore suggestions like that again:rotfl: I now know to leave alone Cape May and Akershus Breakfast anything else is expendable :goodvibes

It's our tradition to do the Cape May breakfast on our departure day every visit. It's a nice relaxed way to finish our trip, the food is good, service is nice, and the character interactions aren't frenetic & rushed as they are in some of the bigger locations.

We LOVE Cape May!! We are doing it again this year...just decided to do dinner this time! You wont regret it...here are some photos for you...characters are GREAT!

I love hearing this!! This will be our first time in WDW, and we are staying at BC. I booked a breakfast at Cape May, and also at Akershus (thank you Poohsfan!)

I am so glad I'm reading good reviews of this character breakfast. We are trying it out for the very first time on our next trip. This definitely put a much needed smile on my face! :thumbsup2

Tried Cape May on our most recent trip. Had a later ressie and it was GREAT! My 2 1/2 year old was being introduced to characters for the first time (well, that she could actually remember) and it was so calm and quiet. She had lots of time with Minnie and Donald. She still hates Goofy (he's so big!) but because it was relaxing, there was no pressure. Minnie overheard my little one say she wanted to see her again, and she came back! She signed that she'd heard her ask. So sweet! Beautiful resort too! Wish it were in our budget!

I'm so glad to read these positive responses. We love Crystal Palace but we are going to try Cape May this time since we are staying at Beach Club. I'm so excited to just get up and walk to our breakfast. Now I'm just trying to decide if we should do it the first morning or late morning. Sounds like there are several who do it the last day.
