My SIL told me in secret that they bought into a Blue-Green resort, Shorecrest Villas while at Myrtle Beach last week for 11K. I asked them how it worked, she wasn't sure except that they could book up to 48 hours in advance. She left her DH up to the details. I am glad that they were able to purchase something (I hope that they can afford it) as this was the first vacation they had taken their kids on with out assistance. I had looked at Shorecrest before through adds and wasn't that impressed. Her basic point to me was, "Doesn't yours expire?" That didn't seem to bother her all of the times she went with us! :rolleyes2 Anyways, back on subject, is this place a bad deal? Should we convince them to look into Marriott or somewhere else, since they are still in the "change their mind" period? Thanks!

i dont know how Blue/Green works bu we loved their property at Big Cedar in Mo.
We took the tour and they were very low pressure.
I think it was a good deal.

Have them rescend byreading the rules on how to do so, and do so right now. I know some about BG and they could easily buy in for a fraction of that resale. Depending on how many points they bought, they could likely buy in for around 40 cents on the dollar. Sounds like they might have bought only 6000 points, you can do the math. Interesting about the RTU reference since BG holds the deeds in trust and they don't really own the week with BG. I know a fair amount about BG and am joining their system myself. Tell them that my total cost to be a platinum level member is far less than they paid, that should get their attention. Suggest they joing the bluegreen group on Yahoo and look at www.tug2.net.
