Tell me about Bistro de Paris

The food while pretty was incredibly bland. Hospital food has more kick. A total waste of your money. I was seated next to a window during Illuminations but the windows are narrow and I only got a partial view. I can see more from the sidewalk. They do not pipe in music.

Thanks, Aurora. By the way, great blog!

I think the food is a little better than Hospital food--we had a pretty good meal there last trip.

Yes, Bistro is definitely better than hospital food. We usually eat here for our last meal on every trip and we've had exceptional meals here every time. It's so much better than Chefs downstairs.

The view of Illuminations, if you are lucky enough to get a window seat, is pretty limited. There are trees that block the majority of the show.

Food was exceptional, view not so much.

Soups were very savory,perfect temperature
Escargot was done well, not to salty or garlicky.
Tuna tartare was very good with very nice accompaniments.
Lamb was served tableside 4 ribs impeccably done.
Cheese tray I'd pass on it was small and not impressive.
Desserts were :thumbsup2 :cloud9:

A little pricey but quality ingredients all.

We enjoyed it when we dined there recently. We ordered an extravagantly expensive bottle of wine with dinner -- and were rewarded by the chef sending us out his specialty as an amuse bouche -- Frog Soup! I thought the waitress said Prague Soup (whatever that might be), but dh said, "Uh, no, she said Frog Soup."

It certainly wasn't bland, I can tell you that! It kind of reminded me of, shall we say, "the romance of the swamp!" I ate mine and dh's.

As for the meal, it was tasty although my rack of lamb was way too done for my taste. I like it medium rare, but in a nod to dh's tastes, I asked for it medium since I knew he'd want a taste. Unfortunately, it was well done. Those little chops simply couldn't take that much heat for that long.

There were numerous children there, which kind of surprised me. The restaurant doesn't provide much of an Illuminations view and I certainly wouldn't book it for that reason.

Dessert was very tasty. We were not blown away by the cheese plate either. The wine list is very nice if not terribly extensive. We will go again.

Bistro is generally considered to be the #2 restaurant in all of WDW behind Victoria and Alberts. Hardly hospital food.

Ate there for a Valentine's Dinner on a romantic, no kids trip.

TRULY....HONESTLY...it was awesome!

Gorgeous ambiance and room and our server was absolutely amazing. He was extremely attentive...he even helped me pop out my first escargot which decided he wanted to stay in his house :rotfl:

I would say it compared to our meals in the REAL France and the service was MUCH better! The escargot was cooked perfectly and were the best I've ever had...better than France! And the frogs legs were yummy!

I don't remember what I had for my entree...but I had the Grand Marnier Souffle for dessert which was AMAZING!

We also splurged on two delicious bottles of wine...we only ordered one but somehow it was finished before we knew it and we HAD to get another. We bought one of the less expensive wines (but not the lowest price)and it was simply to delicious for words.

We had a nice table by the window and could see illuminiations just fine but we didn't hear the music. No biggie there.

We are going back for our 20th anniversary next year! For our 19th in just over a month we are going to Coral Reef even though it has mixed reviews...my husband wants to try it so I booked a surprise adr ;)

We love Bistro.....I admit we are tough critics.
Haven't been disappointed yet.

As someone who has become pretty jaded with regard to WDW dining, Bistro is one of the very few places left that we will actually dine.

We had the degustation menu when there last, and with the exception of wishing we'd ordered wine to go with the (extra) cheese course, the meal was sensational.

Perfectly prepared. Perfectly served. Definitely worth the time and money.

Illuminations? We were too focused on the dining experience.
