Reading the menu isn't helping me decide.

I am looking for a restaurant in the WS that would be fun for kids and grandparents too......but great food is a must because the grandparents are hard to please!!!:goodvibes

I've planned on LeCellier, but I make ADR's tomorrow, so now would be the time to change my mind. We have a 2nd day at Epcot that we could eat at LeCellier later in the trip (without the grandparents)!

We LOVE Biergarten..It is fun all around.HOwever, You are seated with other families and people communal style.

If I figure correctly (sorry if I didn't) but it seems your party should be about 8 or 9, which means you probably wont have to sit with another party. The food is pretty good and the entertainment and atmosphere are great.

My entire family - including me - loved Biergarten. This was a HUGE surprise to me because it was the one place I was dreading. DH hates German food, my kids are very picky eaters and the idea of German didn't sound appealing to me at all. But, I booked it because the inlaws were going with us and my FIL *loves* German food.

It was awesome. We went during lunch, so I don't think we truly experienced the "show," but the food was outstanding. Basically, they have a good-sized dance floor with a German polka band that plays during specific times during the day/night. They entertain the diners and encourage them to come and dance. During lunch, there just wasn't that much audience enthusiasm, but I imagine it'd be a lot of fun at night. But the food was truly wonderful.

Biergarten is on our "must do" list again next time.

The only "drawback" (and not for everyone) is that you might get seated with another family at your table. This really threw my FIL who wanted to "spread out" a bit and put his backpack on another chair, and then didn't seem to "get" why someone else was sitting at "our" table. But, other than that, it was great. And, honestly, since *I* was the one seated next to our table partners and I don't have a problem talking to anyone, it wasn't a big deal.

I think I finally nixed Le Cellier from my plans last night. I looked at the menu and my dh - who is *not* a steak-eater - would really find nothing on the menu that appeals to him. :( I was looking forward to that one, but I think I'll book the Yachtsman instead.

I have dined there on at least 5 different occasions. I have found the lunch tends to be a better value than dinner -- the food and entertainment are similar, but the price is a bit better. Enjoy the pretzels!

We LOVE the Biergarten!

I think that everyone in your party will find something they will enjoy on the buffet. The salads are amazing and I love the pretzel bread.

The show is lots of fun and it's always amazes me that people will get up and dance. It is really a beautiful restaurant inside so be sure to take that in also.

The part about sitting with other families can throw you off at first. Usually we find that people just keep to themselves, last year we met a wonderful family from FL who were very chatty and we had a great time.

We love the Biertgarten. I think we have eaten there almost on every trip. We love German food. You do sit with other families but that is ok. We do this on the cruise ship too. Waiting for July to book our Jan dinning.

Went to Biergarten for the first time last year and loved it! The food is great, being it is a buffet I think everyone will find something they enjoy. The atmosphere is fantastic you feel like you are sitting in a small village in Germany at a festival. The beer is good and cold and huge, if you can not finish they will give you a cup to go then there is the show. As for sitting with others we were at a table with a party of 4 and another Man and his wife , we all had a good time chatting with our newly made friends :goodvibes
I give Biergarten :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

You've gotten a lot of good advice. We ate there two years ago, and my son and I really enjoyed it. My husband didn't, but that's because he accidentally ate pickled herring. (My advice? Read the labels on the buffet to make sure you don't do that.) The atmosphere is fun and the restaurant is beautiful. If you have a larger party, you will sit alone. We were seated with a couple from New York and had a blast with them. Another party of 3 was seated with us, but they clearly didn't want to sit with others (especially others with beer flights in front of them). The food is delicious (again, beware the herring) and there's something that everyone will eat. The desserts are fabulous. Make sure you're there when the band plays. I think they come on every 45 minutes, and it really makes it a fun experience. I would totally go back, but my husband still can't get the taste of pickled herring out.

What size party would get a table to themselves? We want to try Biergarten but not sure how dd would be sitting with others? She has PDD and while she wouldn't act out she isn't really social and is awkward when she is in that kind of situation. So she would not eat. I can talk to her before but you never know how she will BE once in that situation. We would be a party of 5 and from what it sounds like we would be with another family.

:laughing:That is too funny!!

I agree with everything this poster says! We love Biergarten-it is great for all ages:thumbsup2

To the PP, I would guess that a party of 5 would be seated with another family. I believe the tables seat 10.

OP-have a GREAT trip:wizard:

I know the table we sat at was for eight, so you would most likely be seated with another party of 3.

You would be seated with a family of 3 most likely. The tables seat 8 and they fill in the seats

Yes, we are a family of 7, so with the grandparents we would be a group of 9!

I just asked my mom if she liked German food, and her answer...."I LOVE IT!". So, Biergarten it is!! Thanks for all the comments so far!

To experience the true German Biergarten, you must sit with others! It is how it is done in most places in Germany where bands are playing and food and brew is enjoyed. It is truely part of the atmosphere you are going in to experience.

In Germany, it would not be unusual for you to be sitting with someone finishing their meal (dog at their side!) when you sit down. At least at WDW, they start you out all at the same time (and with no dogs!)

I have been to Biergarten twice with my 3 DS. Both times, we sat by ourselves (once in June, another time in January). Where you are seated depends upon the time of your ressie and how busy the place may be.

It is a lot of fun, but my boys like it because of the vast array of food! My DS 15 has a food allergy and the chef was wonderful pointing out what he can and can't have.

If your DD would be uncomfortable with other families, I think you can explain this at the time of your ressie (my suggestion? Book a later lunch or dinner to avoid crowds). Disney is always accommodating.

We're going back in a few weeks. The first time we were there,we (2 of us) were seated with a group that was travelling together. After our BIG stein of cold, wonderful brew,we were swaying to German music with our arms all hooked together!!!LOL! And,talk about small world,2 of the people at the table worked with my father for years at Raytheon!!!!!! Unbelieveable!!
Can't wait to go here again!

We are leaving in 2 weeks for our 3rd all family trip to Disney!! This was the ONLY restaurant that everyone agreed had to be on the list AND it had to be the first one!!!! The kids love the music and show, dad and brother love the beer!!! Can't wait:love: Excellent choice for a family night out!
