Staying at the Swan for the first time this year, and excited to be in the Epcot Resorts area. We were going to try the Fountain at the Dolphin for ice cream, but I keep hearing wonderful things about Beaches and Cream. What can you tell me???

We've eaten at the Fountain at least 6-7 times now. We've tried B&C at least 4 times. I would break it down like this:

The Fountain (along with the Cabana by the Dolphin pool) has some of the best burgers at WDW. Their ice cream is pretty good. It is rarely more than 70% full, even at meal times. They have a pretty good BLT thingy as well.

Beaches & Cream has better ice cream (especially the No Way Jose), and an adequate burger. B&C will almost always be more crowded than the Fountain, largely b/c of it's location, and DDP participation.

Neither place takes ADR's, so you just walk up and see if there are seats....

IMHO - B&C is overrated. The place is tiny, and the food (beyond the ice cream) is nothing to go out of your way for. Better burgers across the lagoon along the BW (Big River, ESPN, the kiosk, etc...)

For just ice cream, I would pick B&C over the Fountain (namely for the No Way Jose which I am addicted to).

Those are all IMHO - other opinions can, and will, vary.

I'm going to agree with Robert here. If you intend to eat a meal, pick the Dolphin. If you just want fancy ice cream sundaes, go to B&C, but be prepared for a long wait if you're there during peak times or after Illuminations lets out. If you just want ice cream and not a specialty sundae, either place works.

Great advice. Thanks. We always parkhop, and we always take time off in the afternoon to swim each day. I thought it might be fun to stop and get ice cream around lunchtime one day when we would be walking back from Epcot. Sounds like we can't go wrong with either place!

Okay, I cannot speak for the Dolphin, but I think you will have an excellent time here. There CAN be a crazy wait for a table. Other times, for example when we went in January, we just walked right up and got a table straight away. Of course, we were lucky, as right after we got there, it got crowded.

Now, I must admit, the quality of the burgers has seemingly gone down. The burger used to be melt in your mouth amazing. I am talking money. Not quite the same experience in January. Now, it is still above the quality that you would find at many CS places, as I have found many a burger at WDW that is downright inedible. B and C is still better than most on property, and if you get it with cheese and bacon and all the trimmins', you are still going to have a pretty good burger.

I have seen in person and photos of the roast beef sub/philly cheesesteak, and it looks absolutely yummalicious. When I went in January, I had their onion rings for the first time, and they were awesome! I absolutely recommend substituting them for your fries. Or, buy some on the side for everyone to share.

The famous ginormous sundaes are definitely a masterpiece. But, they also have smaller portioned ice cream treats, like brownie alamode, strawberry shortcake, and root beer floats.

Again, I cannot speak for the Fountain at the Dolphin, but I think you would have a great time, and pretty good food at Beaches and Cream!

My husband and I tried twice to get into Beaches and Cream, but it was too crowded both times. I'm a burger and fries girl and I was so looking forward to their famous burgers I've read so much about on these boards.

Gotta agree with Robert & Nala - The Cabana has the Best Burger on property, hands down.

What I would do is have my Burger at the Cabana & then grab an IC to go from B&C. They have a To - Go Counter.
