tell me about ATG gun

You all are really making me want to try the ATG gun again. Hmmm, I am going to CKC in Nashville, maybe they will have it there.

I got ours (as noted, during my "spending frenzy" ) at the Manchester CKC. The *only* vendor selling it on the show floor there was a LSS with a booth. Maybe one of yours will be there with the ATGs in Nashville... Apparently, the retail $ is $67 - I got mine at the show for $50, but I've seen posts from folks getting them online for $37.

Attended a 14+ hour crop yesterday and Z2H and I went through three ATG tape rolls - we were both working on our swaps and ran through the tape like crazy! I can't imagine scrapping without the gun now...I had been using the Tombo rollers - liked them (grabbed them at Ms and ACM with my coupons) but this is heaven! Can't imagine how much $$$ I'm saving now with the ATG!

There is also an adapter you can use with the 1/2" ATG to use 1/4" tape. I have the yellow ATG but bought the adapter so I can use both sizes. Haven't switched back to the 1/2" since I bought it, I like the 1/4" tape for scrapping and 1/2" tape for cards.

i finally got mine - it took several weeks for it to come- back up with tape depot - will not order from them again. so far i like it. they didnt send me the tape i ordered - they were out and just sent a replacement without emailing me. dont care for their customer service.

I'm sorry you had the bad experience with Tape Depot - I did too. I ordered a case of ATG tape for several of us to share, and it never arrived after several weeks.. Multiple phone calls and emails to customer service went unanswered until I mentioned contacting the BBB. Then finally I got a response with a bunch of double-talk explanations, and finally the answer that they had no tape to send me, but offered to substitute a different product (probably what you got). I ended up cancelling the order -their service is unacceptable. We found another site that had the same price per roll, just no free shipping at findtape.com - placed the order and the tape was there within 3 or 4 days!

Your story is very interesting because the man that responded to my emails (Todd Fine) said they were emailing everyone that had placed orders and offering to subsitute a different product. Interesting that you never got that email. I will forward it to you so you can see it. If I were you, I would email and complain - they didn't send you what you ordered.

I guess our experience was the weird one - we got what we wanted, after only a little trouble. Now I see why the tape is so cheap! At least we have another site to order from now.

I think what happened is that they were overwhelmed by the demand by scrapbookers and couldn't keep up. I had read several good things about them online from the past. I just happened to order at the worst time possible from them when everything fell apart!

Nope - they don't stock 'em. At least not around here - just (some) of the LSSs.

We had "Rafael" swiftly fix our Tape Depot problem and he was terrific to deal with. (He's the one who answered the phone.) Too bad they don't seem able to deal with all the new business - sheesh...what a problem to have..."too many customers!"...in this crappy economy!

Well... I'm thinking of joining the "club" of ATG gun owners. I am so fed up with my Dotto adhesive dispensers. I had to buy another new one because my old one wasn't working properly (it wouldn't reel up the used tape). And at $5.99/roll it just seems really pricey. But I like the convenience of being able to just grab some in a store when I need it. And I try to ALWAYS use my 40-50% off coupons on it. But buying adhesive by the CASE sounds appealing too!

Would I be better off looking at an online store or on ebay for a gun?........P
