What was your experience and what are your suggestions?
When did you eat there?
TIA

I LOVE Artist's Point, back here in MI I sit and dream about their Salmon Baked on a Cedar plank! It is the best salmon anywhere in the real world in my opinion.
We have been there twice, June 2002 and Jan 2003.
The food has always been spectacular and not crowded. As a matter of fact, our June 8PM seating was empty except for one other table.

I like it a lot. We ate there in May and had fine food and service. They also have an excellent Honey Lager on draft

Hubby and I love Artist Point. It has been one of our favorite Disney restaurants since it has opened. Some nights it can be very busy...others not. Most of the time when we have been there...it is quite busy. We are usually there on the weekends.

The food and service has always been outstanding. I love that they can pair wines with your meal. The cobbler for dessert is all we have ever tried..we just can't seem to get past it to try something else...we share it. The cobbler is huge and yummy.

As far as appetizers and entrees...we have tried many...always delicious. The venison, buffalo, salmon...oh man.

Hubby and I were just talking the other night...it is time for another trip to Artist Point...lol. It really is a great place.

There is also a nice little bar off to the left as you approach the restaurant to wait if you like to wind down before dinner. Or just walk around the resot inside and out. It is lovely.

We are looking forward to this! Sounds GREAT!!
I called today and made a PS. I was surprised to be told that they do have a dress code -- Smart Casual
(As opposed to Dumb Dressy ;) :jester: )
"No park attire" -- which I am sure means no t-shirts, tank tops, bathing suits, etc. Not a problem. I was just surprised, as in the past we have made PS's/eaten at the other nicer WDW restaurants and don't recall a dress code being mentioned.

We just ate there last month, and I'm fairly certain that we went in shorts and T-shirts since it was our last night there and I had all ready packed up most of our clothes.

When I ate there with my pal Betsy - a caterer who could NOT stop raving about the salmon, and I, with a much less trained, let alone picky, pallate, had to agree - I'm pretty sure she was wearing shorts and a nice t-shirt. I don't think she brought anything much nicer than that. Have to say everything about the meal was amazing... even the delish spreads for the butter! Three word review: "To die for."

I am a pseudo gourmand and I will say thet Artists Point is one of the BEST restaurants I have EVER enjoyed. Service was excelent. Food was outstanding, but I would have liked a slightly larger portion for the money. The sorbet was incredible. When we went it was $90 for the two of us with dessert, but no alcohol.
We went in shorts and polo type shirts. It has more of an "adult" feel to it than other restaurants.
The only minor negative: for the first twenty minutes of our meal another table near us was occupied by 2 youngsters and 6 adults and teh adults ahd experienced WAY too much wine. They were ather loud and several times shouted obscenities. My lawyer friend and I were very surprised to see that the waiter not only continued to serve them drinks, but asked several times if they would like more. My friend quielty said something to our server after they had left. "Susie" was VERY apologetic, but I did not find teh circumstance within her realm of control.
Still, GREAT food.

We are very fortunate that we can take our annual vacation in early June, when Artist Point is at its best.

For a very short period (3-4 weeks), the restaurant will fly fresh Copper River salmon in from the northwest. This is a unique time, because it’s the very start of the spawning season, when the salmon are fattened up in preparation for the swim up river. The meat is incredible, and Artist Point does terrific job. The best salmon you're ever have...anywhere.

Combine this with a nice chardonnay, the elegant atmosphere and beautiful view of the woods, and nearby Bay Lake and you have the makings for a perfect meal, and finished off with a seasonal fresh berry cobbler.

This is my husband's favorite! We went early, because I had a small child at the time. It was relaxing and we weren't rushed at all. It has huge windows and views of the resort, which was amazing! ANd the food was delicious. I highly recommend it! Be sure to stroll around the grounds after and see the gyser.

We have a PS for our last night during our trip in October- can't wait to try this restaurant! We've never been before! Sounds so delicious!!!
