I've never done this and everytime I go by there's a huge line. Both my sons are college aged, so they're not likely to be scared. I guess mostly I'm wondering if it's worth waiting in the long lines for it. Is it open during Enight? Might they have better luck going then? Or is it worth it even if the line is short?

Well, I won' t tell you what happens while you're on the ride ... you'll have to discover that for yourselves. If I told you, that would ruin it all!

DH & I went on it and loved it! It was one of the best rides we've been on. Of course, your ds's will love it, being college age ... and will be able to handle it!

IMO, I think it's worth the wait. Also, I think it's something you might only do once that visit. OK, maybe twice to really "appreciate it" the 2nd time. However, I probably would not going back into line for a 3rd time like you might do for Tower of Terror, Splash Mountain, R&RC, etc.

Cannot advise if it's open on E-night ... but I'd bet that your ds's would find it worth the wait!

Its not even a ride, but just a "show". I finally convinced DS11 to go on it last year, and we both agreed it was "stupid" scary, not scary scary. :lol

Alien Encounter is not all that scary for older people like your DS's, but sacry enough to entertain. It is mild by today's standards. I would wait in line once but never twice. My teenagers enjoyed it but did not ask to do again.

The first time I went on I thought is was the creepies, most goriest thing ever. I hated the feeling on a strange thing breathing on me in the dark
I swore I'd never go back or let the kids go. My oldest one was 8 when he begged and begged me to let him in. He came out smiling! But the second time I went with my kids and they took it for all it is worth, so I just got over it and enjoyed it.

Now I just get a kick out of ... what happens in the darkness...

I enjoy it...I think it's a hoot ! It's funny-scary to me. Right after I am seated for the main event, I very discreetly put foam ear plugs in my ears.
It is annoyingly loud for me. My fanny pack has a tiny zipper compartment on each side of the strap. I keep a couple pairs of foam ear plugs on the right side. They are so easy to get to when I anticipate a very loud attraction.

Even though I have seen Alien Encounter many times before, I would wait in line again.

Personally, I think it's one of the top 10 rides in Walt Disney World. I've never waited in the long lines for it, because I usually get to Tomorrowland when the lines are almost nill. It is a scary ride, but nothing you or your sons can't handle. I just suggest arriving to Tomorowland from 9-11 AM; the lines will be shorter then.

Would they allow me to stand by the exit sign? I want to go in but scared to be in one of the seats. That way I could slip out if it got too scary!

no you have to be seated.
well 1 time is enough for me.it scared te s*** out of me,then i would laugh.i dont know about this attraction.i will go in 1 mre time to watch my family.:o :teeth:
