I've never been to Animal Kingdom , so I need some veteran's advice. We're arriving the day before Thanksgiving around 10am. I figure we'll be checking in by 12noon (not counting on our room being ready-but that's ok)... I was thinking of going to AK that afternoon. I'm assuming it will be closing at 5pm.

What's a good plan to see the park? go through The Oasis, then what to the left?? right??? straight??? any must sees?? I'd like to go on the river rapids, but other than that & seeing The Tree of Life, I don't know anything about the Park.

I have my passporter and I'm starting to read it now, but thought I'd get the way to do things from my fellow Dis-ers. Oh, it's just me and my daughter (26).

Thanks everyone! :wave2:

The AK does not take a full day to see so it is an ideal park to see the day you arrive. The only issue is that you will be arriving while the crowds are heavy. Send someone in your group ahead to get a FastPass for Kali Rapids and head to the Lion King show. It is the very best show at any park. By the time you ride Kali the park should be thinning out. Get another`FastPass for either Dinosaur or It's Tough To Be A Bug. The end of the day is not usually very busy and is a great time to ride the Safari and see the animals. If you like animals make sure to see the walkthrough areas in Africa and Asia to see the gorillas and tigers.
Where you are pressed for time I would skip the train to the conservation station and get in the other stuff if possible.
Enjoy!:bounce: :Pinkbounc
We also like the Passporter and would also recommend the Unoficial Guide as it has tons of info. Nothing, however, is as helpful as these boards

I agree with all you say but you will need to be at the park early to see the animals on the Kilamanjaro Safari truck ride. We didn't see AK all in one day because it was crowded and hot. If you car concerned about the big rides like Kali and Dinosaur then go for them first. Plan out what you want to do and where everything is (there are maps of the parks online and you should be OK).
