Usually I am a SW flyer, but they want more money and I am just not feeling all that.

Now Airtran flies out of my local airport-SW flys out of a airport 30 minutes away.

The local airport is maybe 10 minutes away.

My other option is Jetblue which is slighly lower then Airtran-plus first checked luggage is free. They fly out of a airport about an hour away-but my exdh lives closeby so he could drive me to the airport and bring us back home.

I have never flown Airtran or Jetblue.

TIA

I'd take Jet Blue over Air Tran if that is all you are considering. Three years ago, I had both trips to and from book with AT. During the trip we were going to see the shuttle launch with tickets from our Congressman, so all flights were chosen for a reason.

First they moved the flight down to later, which did not allow enough time to get to the launch. I had to call and eventually had to request a supervisor who had to go and get permission to allow me to move my flight to the night before.

Then right before the trip, they moved the return flight up by 4 hours, so I lost a chunk of "disney" time. I called again and there wasn't as much they could do, so I was stuck.

I realize it could happen with any airline, but if all things are equal, I'd go with JB every time! If I had to drive an hour to take JB over AT....I'd still take JB due to the issues I have had.

Jet Blue has tvs for each seat. (take your own headphones) JB doesn't charge for the first bag. I usually fly JB down and United home, only because United has the latest flight I can get.

I used SW before and even though DD and I both had medical passes to get the early boarding, I thought it was stressful. (Maybe because it was the first time we had flown with them) They have since dropped their non-stop flights to MCO, so they are out for me.

Jet Blue hands down. In January for my marathon trip, I took AT down and JB back. Nothing particularly wrong with AT, but JB has so many more perks.
The TV is real DirecTV
XM radio
Snacks-quite an assortment of name brand snacks and you can have more if you want
Extra legroom

It was the most pleasant flight. I would choose JB any day. Just remember to bring your own headphones.

We fly on Jet Blue since they are usually less expensive, no baggage fees for us and the TV's. Plus they will give you a credit if the price of the flight goes down.

One thing I don't like as it seems to happen consistenly with us, our flight times always work out that there is less time spent at the parks. Either our flight time down to MCO is later then originally booked or our flight home is earlier. For instance our flight home this time around was to be at 8:15 pm (the last flight). It is now 5:00 pm. They got rid of that flight on Saturday's but kept it on all the other days of the week. It isn't worth the extra night for a hotel and rental car so this time around we are just going to have to do. Previous times we added an extra day to our trip.
