Never been and just booked breakfast for the morning we leave. Characters, food? Is it a buffet?

Just my honest opinion but we left there with a screaming headache because the noise level is insane and the food was terrible. No other character breakfast was as loud as this one...and I hate to say the food at dinner was just as gross

Yes, it's a buffet. I have an ADR for 1900 Park
Fare this coming November mostly because DGD is an Alice fan and really wants to wear her pretty Alice dress to the breakfast. The characters during breakfast are Alice, the Mad Hatter, Mary Poppins, and, I believe, Tigger and Pooh. I've read some pretty good reviews here on the DIS, here's a link which includes the menu and photos:

Thanks!
I am bringing a 13year old boy... sure hes gonna love it :lmao:
Its for my DD, she loves Alice.

We went there for dinner in 2008. The food on the buffet was great in my opinion....yes it was a little loud, but not unbearable. The character interaction was super...I would definiately go again.

I loved 1900 PF. This was my favorite buffet of our 11 days of dining!

Here's my review if you care to read more and see lots of photos:

Enjoy!

The food is good, characters are good (for who they are..Im more of the Fab 5 fan) the atmosphere stinks. You are crowded into a large room (think wedding ballroom at your local hotel) no windows, no special decor..zippo.

I wont go back. You can get the exact same food at Crystal Palace with a better atmosphere. Im even going to Tusker House, where I hated the food, again because the atmosphere and characters were great. Of 11 days on my next trip we are doing 8 character breakfasts..1900 is not on our list! If youre set on seeing Mary and Alice, then 1900 is the place to go.

We have never been there for breakfast but have gone a few times for dinner and it has been great everytime! The staff, characters, and food has been great! We have gone a few times and will keep going back.

We have dinner every visit at Park Fare and this year decided to try breakfast and a glad we did.

Like any character buffet meal, there are pros and cons.

Pros - Like previous poster mentioned, this breakfast has Disney characters that are not in any other character meal. Alice, the Mad Hatter, Mary Poppins. For those that asked about boys at this meal, the Mad Hatter does an excellent job of interacting with them and is very humorous. The food is not bad. Typical buffet food for the most part. They do serve a very yummy cold strawberry soup. I think it is in a very convenient location. It is easy to get to from the MK or any monorail resort.

Cons- It is a bit noisy, but I didn't find it any noisier than doing Donald's Safari Breakfast.

My girlfriend and I had a late breakfast there this past May and we really enjoyed it. We got to AM EMH at MK and were able to get through a lot of the park as well as pick up some FP for after "brunch" (the plan really worked out great for us). We had an 11:15 ADR which is one of the last of the morning. We got some extra character time since the characters were out until just about everyone had left. The food still came out fresh up until we left and we were one of the last ones to leave. It's typical breakfast buffet food. The food wasn't anything to write home about but it wasn't awful. On par with the CM's and CP breakfasts.

Didn't do this character meal, but we were staying at the GF and unintentionally overheard it a few times. Terribly noisy--I think it is partly the size and shape of the room that augments the noise level. Take tylenol.

We just got back and went for our first night's dinner and last morning's breakfast. Both were fantastic. The food both times was great. The desserts at dinner were wonderful. (there's this little chocolate mousse thing in a chocolate cup that's DIVINE !!)

The dinner characters were HILARIOUS!! Cinderella is quite calm and lovely....the fun begins when the stepmother and step sisters come out. The stepmother was so funny...she looked at my DD4 like she was sucking on a lemon... (she puts on the "kids are disgusting" kind of act) my DD was laughing so hard. The stepsisters are also very funny. My DD was dressed in lime green and bright blue (matching one of the stepsisters) so that was priceless. She told us she was taking our daughter because she looked like a miniature doll of her.

breakfast was also very good. Alice was apparently on vaca so we didn't get her. We did see the Mad Hatter (who was VERY funny and interactive), Pooh and Tigger, Mary Poppins and Burt. (they were incredible). My DD was a little scared of Burt but he cracked her up trying to get her to wish me a Supercalafragalisticexpialidocious birthday.

I posted this question elsewhere on the board but this might be a better place. My fiance and I are going down in late January. We have breakfast reservations here. A co-worker says it's absolutely wonderful. I'm wondering if it's really worth it though. This trip is just the two of us - no kids or grandkids. Will we be out of place? Is the noise that bad? Can you suggest someplace else for breakfast? Thanks!!

You won't be out of place at all, but if the noise bothers you, you could make a reservation at the GF Cafe. We ate there one morning after cancelling the Lelo and Stitch breakfast....we hadn't planned on it but we all slept late after being at the Halloween party and just decided to eat there. it was wonderful...and QUIET !! I had the lobster eggs benedict and it was was really, really yummy. DH had steak and eggs and he loved it. I would highly recommend the GF Cafe as an alternative ! :goodvibes

Chilled strawberry soup...if it is still there for dinner this place is still worth it...think strawberry, cream, sugar as soup. So wonderful I used it on my ice cream as well. The perfect start and finish to an otherwise OK meal.

Kids buffet was good as well if I remember, with multiple options instead of just a single entree geared for kids as some other buffets have at WDW.

We have boys, and they don't hate it, but prefer other buffets like chef mickey's...we are going to 1900 this time as we have a young girl in our party this time and I love the strawberry soup!

Our trips are just me (26) and my girlfriend (23) and we never feel out of place. We love the character meals for the most part. We usually do a handfull on each trip. It's a great chance to let the kid in you out. Most, if not all, character meals tend to be loud (maybe with the exception of GG). If you are looking for a character breakfast that is not as loud, try making ADR's for the latest you can. Our 11:15 ADR at 1900 was pretty quiet and tame about 10 mins into the meal.

As a general note, my girlfriend and I tend to take advantage of having meals at off times. We don't have to worry about kids on eating schedules so we usually go with later meals. We have fallen in love with ADR's inside parks after the parks have closed.

We were there as a table of adults (6) seated beside out table of kids (5) for dinner. The stepsisters were very funny and Lady Tremaine was entertaining. She interacted with the adults very much "in character" - snooty - she was excellent! Kids enjoyed stepsisters more than Cinderella. One of my favorite character dinners, but I will say the food was fairly average for the buffets.
