Good: I've inherited a great works ethics, both my parents worked hard to support the family. I never miss a day's work unless I cannot get out of bed due to ill health, which have been very few. I work hard, have a positive attitude, am very reliable, and get all my projects finishd in time, even if I work over my hours (which is far too often).

Bad: Both my parents were smokers. I started to smoke at a very young age, in secret of course, I was in my teens, but have since packed it up. That must be going on 15 yrs now.

...Whose next?

Hmmmm....interesting topic.:) From my mom: a good cook, great sense of family (always comes first) but on the not-so-good side--a little on the shy side at times. I am not *as bad* about defending myself as she was, but i definitely have some of that in me. From dad: a great sense of humor, affectionate. The not-so-good-side: a bad temper. (I also see these traits in my brothers as well).

Good: I love to help others. See people smile. Make a difference. Both of my parents really tend to be that way.

Bad: I tend to talk say too much sometimes. It can get me into trouble. That comes from my mom. I can be stubborn at times, too. That would be from my dad.

From my dad? I get me love of travel. He was definitely a "rollin' stone"--we never stayed anywhere long. Some of my sisters are very bitter about it, but its just part of what makes me who I am today.

Unfortunately, I also get a strong streak of perfectionism, to the extreme. It has taken me literally years to get it under control and it's a daily fight.

From my mom? Two sides of the same coin. Responsible, dependable, take care of everyone. The downside is that i'm over-responsible, dependable and I take care of EVERYONE, even if it ruins my physical and mental health.

Good: To see the value in education. Both my parents graduated high school but never attended college. My brothers and I all graduated from college, and one of us even a Master's program.

Bad: The habit of procrastination at times.

The Good: I have a good work ethic, I am very easy going

The Bad: I'm really gullible, (from my mother) I smoke

The Maybe?: (from my dad) I have a really odd sense of humor. I guess it depends on if you find it funny too or just annoying.:rotfl:

Good: Bargain shopping/penny-pinching - general frugality :)

Bad: Fingernail biting - took me years (literally) to completely stop doing it and I must keep my fingernails obsessively short or I know I would catch myself gnawing on a fingernail - gross:eek:

Good-value of honesty and a hard days work. Love of travel.

Bad-worry too much, and too cautious.

Good:
From my Dad: Confidence and the pursuit of dreams.
From my Mom: I'm fantastic at organizing, planning, staying on top of things, and saving money!

Bad:
From my Dad: My temper...!
From my Mom: I'm a huge worry-wart.

The good::littleangel:
From mom- ability to express love, cooking, compassion, love of family
From dad- intellectual curiosity, sense of humor

The bad::scared:
From mom- tendency to play the martyr, extreme people pleaser
From dad- talk too much, need to have the last word in an argument, and inability to admit when I'm wrong.

Good: My parents have always been frugal and I'm glad I learned how to be a good saver. I don't buy a lot of extra stuff and don't have any credit card debt. Luckily my DH is the same way.

Bad: I can be impatient at times (thanks, Dad). And I tend to want to please everyone, even when it's not practical (like my mom).

The good: My mom is a very caring, people-person and I got that from her.

The bad: I can be short-tempered -- I got that from my Dad.

The ugly: My mother can be a major martyr and wet-blanket -- and I definitely go there sometimes.

This is an interesting thread. I'll start with...

THE BAD
From mom- She was fakely sweet when someone did something she didn't agree with, and I think it stopped her from forming good relationships sometimes. I see myself stepping back from certain people, and sometimes judging too harshly I think .
From dad- I'm sometimes more careless with money than I would like to be, not that I but expensive purses :rotfl: but just forgetting to pay things on time.

THE GOOD
From mom- A very strong work ethic and helpful nature
From dad- A sense of humor, even in hard times :lovestruc

mom- work ethic, words
Dad- Cooking, sence of duty and pride

BAD:
Mom- Nail biting
Dad- STUBBORN STREAK!

The good: A strong sense of right and wrong, the ability to agree to disagree, and making long term goals with the patience to see them to fruition most of the time.

The bad: Procrastination on things I don't want to do.

Good:
Mom- money management, flossing
Dad- cooking, making sure I know what is happening in the world

Bad:
Mom- lack of compassion towards various issues
Dad- swearing

THE GOOD:
Mom: My work ethic-- never miss a day of work, never handed an assignment in late for school
Dad: Doing anything (big or small) to make those I love happy-- picking up DBF's favorite snack when I know he's had a hard day of work, or buying DBF $500 Rangers tickets for his birthday. CLASSIC my father.

THE BAD:
Mom: procrastinate things I don't want to do (though they do EVENTUALLY get done!), can get tunnel-vision and blow things out of proportion when something goes wrong
Dad: short temper, poor sense of money (this is one I reallllly need to work on!)
