we have never been to a animal kingdom restaurant yet--- but yak and yeti looks very good! How is the food and service? Also what is good their? I think the ribs, honey chicken, and the beef and broccoli look delicious from the pictures i have seen:) I havent heard much about this place i just want to make sure it wil be a wise choice:) thanks everyone!

We went their last September during our trip. The decor was really neat, we got a first floor table near the window and was able to see the parade from the window while eating (we had an early dinner). It's located near the end of the parade route so I think we were their around 3:45 or so.
The food was YUMMY!! even the kids found something they liked. I believe I had some kind of sesame chicken or something. I would definitly go their again!!

:)

The honey chicken is also available at the counter service place that is connected to Yak and Yeti; I had it for lunch one day, and it was very yummy. Also, I had the mango pie through the counter service.

I only ate at 3 TS places, and Yak and Yeti was one of them. I had the fried green beans, ribs and cream cheese wontons for dessert, and it was an amazing meal! It's a nice a/c break in the hot park, and the food and service were amazing.

I did notice, as my adr was at 11, that there was a person at the door making reservations for later in the day. So, maybe this is a place you can get an adr more last moment?

Mmmm...Yak & Yeti!!! We had a fantastic lunch there in October. For appetizers we had egg rolls, lettuce cups, and seared ahi tuna - all were fantastic. 2 of us had chicken lo mein for entrees, it was very very good. The 3rd member of our party had the crispy mahi mahi which was also very good - and I'm not a seafood lover! Desserts were mango pie, sorbet, and the fried wontons. They were all good but the fried wontons (mine!) were amazingly good!!! The adult beverages were also fabulous there!! :goodvibes

thank you:) what adult beverages do you recommend?:) i saw pictures of them on the fod porn thread they look amazing! I am going to have to get a few:lmao:

I think Yak & Yeti is either a hate it or love it place. I've heard a lot of negative reviews about it, but it's one of my favorites and a must-do for every trip. I love the atmosphere because it fits in really well with that area of the park and yes, the honey chicken is available at the counter service, but then you have to find a table, sit in the possible heat, etc etc. I like eating in Yak & Yeti because it's a nice break in the day and the service has always been great. The servers and hosts have always been very kind and helpful. My favorite thing on the menu is the honey chicken because it's the ony thing I've tried. I just can't bring myself to try something else when that is so delicious.
And yes, it is the kind of place where you can get an ADR at the last minute. I'd say I've eaten here about 5 times and 3 of the 5 times we just randomly decided we wanted lunch there and walked right up and were sat immediately.

I really like Yak and Yeti. My two favorite menu items are the Shaoxing steak and shrimp and the cream cheese wontons for dessert.

We LOVE Yak & Yeti. We plan to go every trip. We have tried for apps the Pork Pot Stickers, Wok-Fried Green Beans, Lettuce Cups. We did not really care for the Lettuce Cups but that was just us.

For main dishes we have tried Crispy Honey Chicken, Baby Back Ribs, and Shaoxing Steak and Shrimp. I have to say the Steak and Shrimp is something we get EVERY TIME!! It is amazing! The ribs were also wonderful. My husband said they were the best ribs of the last trip. I tried the Honey Chicken once (my first time there) and won't be doing it again. It just was blah and not what I expected, once we went and I tried the Steak and Shrimp I changed my toon about the restaurant, before that I liked the atmosphere and service but the chicken was not good and I did not want to do it again. My husband ordered the steak and shrimp the first time and was in love from there on out. So that is why we went back and I am so glad we did. Like all restaurants it is about choice and tastes. For us it will continue to be something we go back to.

For dessert, we have tried Sorbets, Fried Wontons, and Chocolate Brownie Sundae for Two. We LOVED the fried wontons and sorbets, and the brownie sundae was good but we like to get different things and split them and with that it counts as two adults desserts. We have always had great service there and it was always a very nice atmosphere. If you are lucky enough to be seated in the room surrounded by glass you can even watch the parade from there if you time it right and are lucky enough to be seated there. We have been lucky enough the times we have gone but it was just a nice suprise. Hope this helps a little. I find try it and decide what is right for you and your family. We have tried things that others rave about and wonder what the big deal is. We have found places others hate and we love so it depends on your tastes and likes. We like to try a few new places every trip and make a judgement after that. I have to say in general there are a lot more restaurants in disney we like rather than not though! :)

I hope whatever you choose you have a wonderful time on your trip and have great food! :thumbsup2

I love Yak & Yeti. I had the lettuce cups for an appetizer and Low mein with shrimp for my entree. Food was delicious!

We tried it for lunch last AUgust and loved it! The cream cheese wontons were awesome. But the air conditioning was out of this world. We had just done Kali beforehand and FROZE in Y&Y!:wizard:

We were at The World last week and did the deluxe dining for 7 days. We had 21 different TS meals and of them all, Yak and Yeti is the one that we will not go back to.

Our server was GREAT...one of the best all week! But the food was horrible. The beef and broccoli was dry, the lo mein was tasteless, the ribs were dry and the lettuce wraps were just gross. DH did love the egg rolls but that was about it.

I don't know if it was just an off day for the kitchen or what but it was our worst meal all week.

the ribs were dry
They are a dry-rub, aren't they? I think that's why some people find them dry because maybe they are expecting barbeque sauce. I'm not a big rib fancier, but I sure did enjoy them. :confused3

We were there in January.. walked up around 2pm and were seated with no wait. We shared the dim sum basket, and I had the crispy Mahi Mahi, it was very good, and the sauce was amazing. DH had the lo mein and it was under seasoned for him, but still good. I had the mango pie, and DH had the fried Wontons for dessert. A good meal, not the best ever, but a good choice for in park dining, and great decor!

I could see that but for DH, the meat itself was dry like it had been overcooked.

Meh. I felt like it was okay. Skimpy with the fried rice. I am used to an enormous pile at our local Chinese place. Service was attentive and the place was cool and clean for a hot August day. I can't justify the cost for the TS but I will definately get the CS version next trip.
