Teleporter Question

This is actually a two part question. I want to know if it is possible to visit someone's room if they are not on line. And if you are able to visit, how would you go about trading that other person a teleporter if they aren't on line. Maybe this is a very obvious answer but I am getting so lost trying to navigate this new world!

You can not visit their room if nobody is in it UNLESS there is a teleporter in their room, and you have access to the other end. That's the point of the Dis teleporter network.

You can't trade them a teleporter unless you actually meet them (virtual) "face-to-face" to do the trade.

OK- I get it. I am trying to get my other teleporter in my DS's room. But, of course I can't trade him cause we use the same computer. He's only 5 and we play together and take turns. He got sick of playing as a girl. LOL.
