Teleporter Problems

I'm new to VMK and can't get the teleporters to work.I won the Monster's Inc teleporter playing the maze, have placed one each in my two rooms. They don't teleport. As soon as I click in front of the door (tried both sides) it just activates the move-rotate-remove window. What am I doing wrong?

What you need to do it to turn of furnishing mode in your room. Go to your room description in the lower left hand corner click it then and uncheck furnishing. Then try your doors. Click the doors on the top.

I had this problem also and I found out that the door was installed backwards so I had to rotate it so I can use it.
