Ok...you got my number, you called me, you are allowed cause I have an account with you. But please...what does it take to pronounce my first name OR my last name correctly!! :confused3

I didn't feel the least bit guilty hanging up on you!! :lmao:

Lately the problem I am having with them is when I tell them No, not interested, please remove my name and number...they get angry with me, and hang up on me..LOL...I have had it at LEAST 3x..

No, No!! I like it when they can't pronounce my last name (which is everyone BTW). That way I know it's a telemarketer and go straight to my "No thank you. I'm not interested." :lmao: I've even gotten DD to do this. Of course one time she hung up and said "Darn telemarketer." Ooops. Guess that came from me. :rolleyes1 :lmao:

We always laugh at this.. our last name is very common.. (think Smith or Jones) and it is always misprounounced. (?) It has an EE sound at the end and they always say AA. I'm just assuming that's how it would be pronounced in the country where the caller is from, but it is such an easy name that it is pretty funny to us.

when telemarketers call Interupt them and ask them UH did I call You? They are silent, then say no, then I ask then why are you calling me? I say goodbye. Wish I could see the look on their faces.

When a telemarketer mispronounces our last name DH says there is no one here with that name. Hopefully that gets our name removed from their calling list.

My 2 "favorites" this week have been the newspaper calling me saying we owe money (we cancelled 2 months ago!) and then putting me on hold because they are experiencing a heavy call volume. Then it tries to force me into using their automated system. I think not...

The other is getting calls from SAT/ACT testing companies and they say "your child showed an interest in our company". Uuuuhhhh....yeah....I don't think so, since he doesn't really care about stuff like that! The last one that called, I asked how they got our number and she said "your child took this test" and I said no he didn't and she said then he must have taken the PSAT. I said no he didn't and she said oh yes, they take it at school! I know he hasn't cuz they're taking it next month! She actually hung up on me...guess I was asking too many questions?

Oh and our name gets mispronounced all the time as well...and it shouldn't be that hard to pronounce!

What? I guess I'm dense this evening, but I don't get this one. :confused3

I am on the do not call list, so the only ones I get are those that can get away with it. (political calls or some company that I do business with)

I invested in a set of home phones that has voice caller id, it will announce the incoming name, or phone number, so we don't have to get up, and just let it go to voice mail, then hit delete on the message later!:lmao:

sorry, you are running for congress/senate/governor/dog catcher? I see way too many tv spots and am tired of it, so you guys get deleted!;)

If it doesn't, then I've found saying, "Remove my name from your calling list, please." works VERY well!

So does yelling, "Stop CALLING me!!!!" - but try the first one first :rotfl2:

We do the same thing. I use to feel guilty but no longer. We have a two word name. They always call us by the last one and not the two together. At that point when they ask for us by the one name then I know for sure it's a telemarketer.

it dosn't remove you. most of the people manning those phones don't have the ability to access their calling list, and cannot remove you. they will SAY they will remove you but they can't.

the best way is to register on the do not call list.

I just registered my new number on the Do Not Call list. Now I guess I only have to wait 3 months for it to take effect. I can't wait! :thumbsup2

Burro has a B, an R, and an O in it. So does our last name.

That does NOT mean my last name is Burro. :rotfl:

My last name is so weird, I sometimes have to pause myself and double check that I spelled it right even after almost 20 years. So I know as soon as someone butchers my name to hang up. The people that know us either don't ask for us by our last name or totally remember it as it is so odd it stands out as something you would remember. Except for the principal at my kids elementary who no matter how often my kids were up for awards never got it right. Last week we were at my sons football game and man oh man that was the funiest version of it I ever heard. something like moonunanuy. The parents were screaming through the bullhorns to the announcers how to say it.
