I was going to try this, but I read somewhere that the tone has to be emitted more quickly than an answering machine can manage. The tone must be precisely on frequency and of the proper duration to work. I found a TeleZapper for under $10 at a catalog closeout store. I don't know if it has cut down on telemarketers or not. Give it a shot and let us know if it works (and if I wasted $10).

We have one and I it has cut down on the number of calls. It also gets the computer to disconnect too so many times even if it rings no one is there.

I have my own tele-zapper. It's my 3 year old son. As soon as we answer and know it is a telemarketer, we call our little tele-zapper and he is always excited to talk and talk and talk to anyone on the phone. After about 30 seconds he holds the phone up and says "They hunged up daddy". It works every time!

I always tell tele-markets I amnot interested..then if they continue to babble...I say can you hold please...and just put the phone down.

Lord knows how long they wait..but hey..they are just wasting their time..and I am saving somebody somewhere another tele=marketing call!

Our telezapper works pretty well but we still get calls "dialed" by telemarketers
