My daughter went to the dentist yesterday she was given a timer so she knows how long to brush her teeth. The timer is set for 2.5 minutes. So I decided to use the timer to guide me in my teeth brushing. 2.5 minutes is FOREVER when it comes to brushing your teeth. My question does any really brush there teeth for this long?

Not me. I'm lucky if I go over a minute. I can definitely hit all the teeth and gums many times over in that period of time.

2 minutes

Sonicare has a 30 second timer for each quadrant of mouth. It sure helps.

I have an OralB Pro with a 2 minute timer and it really helps to make sure you get a good cleaning. DD likes the FireFly toothbrush, it has a blinking light that flashes for one minute so she knows to do the upper for one cycle and the lower for one cycle.

Enjoyed the Simpsons' episode where the family went to the dentist and the sign out front said: "No matter how you brush your teeth, you're doing it wrong." ;)

How many teeth do you have ;) Just kidding

Two minutes for me with the Oral B

goodness, that does seem like a long time! I was always taught as a child to sing the happy birthday song in my head. when I was done, I was done brushing. I know that they make some kids brushes now that play a song and when the song is done, it signals that they are done brushing.

I love my Sonicare! I'm on my second one now, after wearing out the first one a few years ago. Check with your dentist to see if they have any "deals" on Sonicare toothbrushes. My dentist was offering one last fall where you got a $150 Sonicare for $35 after TWO rebates. What a great deal. :thumbsup2 I got one for my DD a few years ago from my dentist for $40.

Yep! I have an Oral B, and it has a timer as well. Mine is just a flat 2 minute timer, and not broken into intervals, but it lets me know at 2 minutes. I usually brush for the full 2 minutes.

I actually haven't timed myself.... Just doesn't seem like much more than a minute.

I am missing a few teeth due to pulling for orthodontia many years ago. So, less than normal, but plenty to fill my mouth. :)

And I got DH a Sonicare for Christmas, so maybe he'll be timing his brushing.
