thanks all. ºoº:o

My DH and I will be doing the DCL 7/17/04 western along with our 14 YO DS and his 14 YO best friend. I have booked the Wild Side at CC for them. They meet at 9:00 am and it is done at ~ 1:30 pm. I have also booked parasailing for the three boys (I'm saving my $$ for our 9 days at WDW after the cruise!) at 2:30 that afternoon. They have to meet at 2:15, so they'll have a liitle bit of time to "rest" in between activities. My DH is doing the CC Bottom Fishing in the morning (9:15 - 12:15), so "poor " me, I'll be all alone for 3 hours to lounge on the beach!! I wonder how many Bahama Mamas I can drink in 3 hours and still stay on my float?!

As far as what sells out, I would hate for someone to have their heart set on an excursion and then find out that it's all booked up. I booked all of our excursions exactly at 60 days, because some of them I had certain times that I really wanted. You can cancel without penalty up to 2 days before your cruise departs. I had booked the Key West Trolley tour via DCL, but found that you could not get on and off all day, so I cancelled it last week and booked directly through the tour company in Key West.

Don't take this as gospel, but I've been told that teen excursions are set to accommodate all teens onboard (and they limit the # of teens onboard).

We signed up our DD (13 at the time) for both ... she love the Junkanoo Jam in Nassau and HATED the Wild Side in CCay. This time I won't sign her up for either until we're on the ship, and she decides if she wants to do them (based on if any of her "new" friends do them).

There is a limit to how many teens are allowed to sign up for the Wildside at CC. I believe it is limited to 25-30 participants.

I don't know if there is a limit on the Teen Junkanoo, though.

ivanova, my daughter was the opposite, she hated the Junkanoo and loved the Wildside at CC, so you just never know how they are going to react.

VERY true!! The cost of the junkanoo is less than the wild side, but I'd rather not "waste" the $$ on an excursion she won't like or participate in ... so I'm taking our chances of signing her up onboard this time around.

We just got off 6-19 and ds-13 did the wild side. It started at 9 at the Stack, they ate breakfast, did the bike trip, kayaked, snorkeled, and ate lunch. After lunch, they could choose to go to a beach together, meet up with family on the beach or go back on the ship.

My son loved it. We did not book this ahead of (I did ask-he said no). On Tues., he asked if he could do it. Fortunately, there were 4 spots when I asked the next morning.

It looks like you are on the Wonder, it may start earlier due to getting to CC earlier.

Last year on the Wonder, we were off the ship around 8:30, this year on the Magic, it was after 9:30.

I know for sure from personal experience that DCL totally fills up for the wild side...

Last year my DD waited until on the ship to book and it was full but somehow they managed an exception...good thing, too because within an hour after she got okayed for excursion, other teens tried to sign up as well, but weren't able to participate...

SO...that being said, we booked wild side IMMEDIATELY early morning on day 60 for our July 24 cruise this year and guess what? Already booked solid...I asked how because I was so early.... they said that some send ressies in months early and DCL "HOLDS" it for them on a first come first serve basis... So I argued that that is not what their written policy is and after 3-4 supervisors and more than an hour long distance on the phone, they finally found a spot for DD....

So remember, just because she doesn't want to do it now, doesn't mean she won't want to do it once on the ship... It's all the teens talk about... It's a shame DCL can't allow more on the excursion since it is so popular... operator at DCL said they are working on adding more for teens in the future...

Also, DD loved the junkanoo jam!!!!

BOOK THEM NOW!!!:Pinkbounc

6????:hyper: :scratchin :confused3 :drinking:

fortunately our cruise last year and this year are both in November ... probably not as many teens on board ... last year's Wild Side wasn't sold out when we boarded, so I'm hoping it isn't this year instead ... next year (repo cruise) if they offer the Wild Side when we hit CCay then I'll probably sign her up 60 days before we leave, because we know several teens that will be on the ship & she'll want to do the excursion with them.

We're going on the 7/11 Wonder, and our 13 year old GS has been talking about the Wild Side, Teen Junkanoo Jam, banana boats, & para sailing ever since we booked last August. On our 60 day mark, I signed him up for all of them. My DH and I are doing the fishing on CC, and our DS & GS are doing the catamaran & snorkeling while at Nassau. I didn't want to take a chance of not being able to sign up once on board, because he's been wanting to do all of these excursions since before we booked last August. He's going to be busy, and I hope he loves everything. We leave for WDW in 2 weeks & 2 days--can't wait!!!
