Teens on the Panama Canal

Prior to covid there were always a lot of teens. Both our TA's 2018 and 2019, and Hawaii( 2015) had a lot of teens. Most of our 28 cruises have been off season and the one thing I never worried about was a lack of teens for my teens to engage with. The five cruises we've taken since the restart only the pre-vaccine cruise had a lot of teens. Our last cruise out of Miami in September on the Dream had 8 kids in the Vibe. Who what of thought you'd see that on a Disney cruise out of Florida? Anyway as things get back to normal I'm sure the teen counts will too.

On the other hand, Disney cruises are expensive and there's more competition with all the new ships...it's hard to say a lot has changed in the last two years. We're done with all that my youngest just turned 18.

This thread is expensive... After rereading it this morning I decided to put a deposit down on the WBPC trip today. We have down the eastbound and loved it (but didn't love ending in Galveston). It was one of the best cruises we have ever taken, so we think we are going to do it again. It's sad how easy it is to talk any of us into another cruise.
Our WBPC last March was our best service ever on a cruise. So when they released it again for next year, I happily booked again. It was hard to save up that much vacation time but I am motivated and we'll see how it goes between now and June when FP is due. The ship was only at 40% capacity so that was part of the enjoyment of it and I doubt the next one will still be that low.

Honestly since posting this I keep going back and forth about keeping it. The Magic is not my favorite ship (haven’t been on the wish yet but as of now she’s my least favorite).

To keep costs down I booked an oceanview stateroom when I have never stayed without a verandah… I am worried I might seriously regret that after 14 nights but it’s just not in the price point right now to upgrade.

Also there are several very tempting VGT offers in Jan & Feb that I am thinking of grabbing instead and just doing several more cruises which I know will probably end up costing me more money in the long run but then I get more cruises out of it…

I am realistic enough to know that ended in CA means Disneyland and I really want to stay at The grand Californian and the per night rate there is probably more expensive than another cruise, especially one of Miami…

Decisions, decisions…

But that was on the WONDER and it has always been "AWESOME" that is why it is our favorite ship. Hoping we get the same service on the MAGIC
Me too but we sailed the Magic probably 4x before ever trying the Wonder. We sailed the Dream and Magic a few more times and turned Platinum in 2012 just prior to sailing to Alaska on the Wonder. There was never a noticeable difference in service from one ship to another until we did the WBPC in March which was DCL #25 for us.
I’m really hoping our 2nd PC cruise is as good as the first.

Funny enough, this is my only concern with booking the WB. We have friends in Orange County that my wife says we should see, so that means 100% going to DLR. We almost went last month just to DLR, but the room rate at the GC stopped me. If I am that close I know I will talk myself into "just a few nights," but it's just so stupid expensive there.

The Magic is our second favorite ship, but our last PC cruise was EB on the Wonder. I doubt anything will equal that, but as of now we're going in a year. That's assuming I can save the money for the cruise and the Grand Californian between now and June. Problem is spending the DLR money means I'll never catch up to ruadisneyfan2 and hit #25. Goals, though!

But also a wonderful and fun experience....

Aww, it’s not a race. There is no finish line.
Also we probably had a head start. We booked our first Disney cruise in 2005 for a 2007 sailing. Back then, it was only the Magic and Wonder so if you didn’t book as soon as the dates were released, within a few days the ships would fill so quickly, the prices would skyrocket into the unaffordable zone.
