Teen's First TR! April 2011

Hello! This is my very first TR!
My family went from 4/18/11-4/21/11 and had a blast, so this is basically a follow up!
I've been on this website for a while now, however I'm not a regular poster, just a lurker. I really enjoy reading the many TR on here, which inspired the writing of my own!

A little introduction
My name is Stephanie!

I'm 16 years old and a junior in high school. I enjoy playing tennis, softball, and listening to music.
I'm a California native from the central valley. DL is about a 4 hour drive away from where I live.
My favorite ride at DL is Splash Mountain and my favorite food at DL are the churros!
I'm a pin collector, however I don't trade pins because I become too attached to the ones I own...
This is my sister Marissa!

She's 19 years old and currently going to Fresno State. Her favorite rides are the Haunted Mansion and Autopia. This is the first DL trip she's been on in over a year with my family!
The main reason she wanted to come was to check out elecTRONica!!
And of course we are going with our parents! It is thanks to them that we are able to go on these trips!
They aren't really ride riders and enjoy to just sit and watch people in the parks! (They say it's some of the best entertainment there)

Oh yes, and before I forget, I apologize for the quality of the pictures.
My photographing skills aren't the best, to say the least
So let's get this TR rolling!!

Monday was mainly a travel day. I had softball in the morning and my parents also had to work.
I got home, packed up, and was ready to go!

I made sure to have all of my clothes, pins, and of course homework (to make my parents happy)
We started driving at about 5 pm

Lots and lots of countryside

Still more and more fields -.-

We made a stop at Chipotle to eat dinner! Yum!! I love their burritos!!

And we continued on!
4 hours later we arrived at GCH!
We checked in at about 9 pm.

By the time we got to our room...

it was time for the fireworks to start! Not a bad view and or a bad way to start the trip!!

I'm so glad you decided to write up a TR.......I love seeing other's pictures & reading about their experiences!!! When I was younger, I was a die-hard softball player (slow pitch......they didn't offer a fast pitch team at my high school)......one summer I played on 4 teams & then worked security at the ball field......yup....that's how much I loved the game!!

Great start & looking forward to the rest of your report!!

I can't imagine playing on four teams at once!! I can hardly handle one!!

I'm so sorry that I haven't updated in a while!! This week my teachers decided to load me with homework!

Well anyways, the night we got to DLR, we went into the park after watching the fireworks from the hotel.
We had to fight the crowd on Main Street because of the fireworks and headed to the AP center!!

My parents and my sister had to take their pictures taken for theirs.
Then we headed to BTMRR for our first ride of the trip!
My sister and I made sure to do the goat trick! It really works!!
After, we headed off to Space Mountain to meet up with some of our family friends because they had fastpasses for it!

Oh how I love Space Mountain!!

We were very impressed with the man in the back of our rocket!!
Then we headed back to the hotel for the night so we could wake up for the Magic Morning!

The next day started off bright and early!
I woke up at 6:00, took a shower, and got ready to go!
DL is probably the only place I can go to sleep at 1 in the morning, wake up at 6, and be happy and ready for the day!!
My sister and my dad slept in, so it was just my mom and I for the morning.
We got to the park at about 7:10, so Magic Morning had already started!
Here are a couple shots of the castle!

Our first stop was a visit to Snow White's wishing well!

A cute little flower I thought looked like a hidden Mickey!
Then we hit the Fantasyland rides while they were empty in the morning!

Mr. Toad's Wild Ride is probably my favorite dark ride in DL.

Pinocchio!!
And we also rode on Snow White's Scary Adventures, which in my opinion, is probably the scariest ride in DL!
By the time we were done with the Fantasyland dark rides, our stomachs were in dire need of food!!
So, we decided to eat at Tommorrowland Terrace.

I got the breakfast platter!! It's just a standard breakfast, nothing really special, but great to ease your breakfast hunger pains!

We had some company---my favorite little birds!! (hence, the username )
By the time we finished eating, it was almost 8:00, so we decided to wait by Adventureland to get fastpasses for Indy!!

And yes, I am not endowed with the gift of height! But being fun sized is not at all bad!!

My mom and I decided to head back to GCH so that we could get the fastpasses for WOC!
So while i was back at the hotel, I took a few pictures!

The hallway looks a little eerie here...

A great view to spy on people I guess!!

Our mission was successful! And with that, we continued our journey this time into DCA!

Sorry for not posting in a while; school is getting kind of hectic because summer is coming! AP testing had been keeping me pretty busy!

What is the goat trick?

The goat trick is on the drop that curves to the right after the second lift. There is a goat perched up high on a rock with a dynamite stick in its mouth on the right side of the train. So, when you go down the drop, you are supposed to keep on looking at the goat all the way through the curve. It supposedly makes it feel more intense.
My sister and I decided to try in and we found out that it only works when you are in the back of the train! You should give it a try sometime!!

We did the goat trick on our last trip.......so much fun!! The key is do it with no hands!! You get thrown & a bit disoriented for a sec.....but just adds a little extra fun to an already awesome ride!!

It was about 10:15 by the time we got into DCA. We entered in through GCH. Our first stop was the fastpass distribution for ToT!

GRR!!

This is why I absolutely love morning in the park! They are completely empty!!
I really wanted to stop by A Bug's Land next!!

Bug's Land is my favorite place in the whole park. In my opinion, I would argue that it is the best themed land in the entire DLR. *hides behind chair* Everything about it from the lights, to the benches, to the food stands, and the outside of the bathrooms are themed so wonderfully!! It really makes me feel like I'm miniature sized! And I love all the rides in it; they all have a cuteness to them!

Well, my mom and I got into A Bug's Land and we were the first ones in there. A couple of cast members at Flick's Flyers greeted us cheerfully, which just put me in a better mood than I was already in. I knew that it was going to be a great day after that!

Francis's Ladybug Boogie! *Just a warning, this ride is crazier than it looks!!!* Yes, don't be fooled by it's innocent exterior because it spins you around a lot!! (That's how I got my mom to go on with me )

Next we went on Flick's Flyers!

I've noticed that the least popular "boxes" on this ride are the raisin ones. I guess not many people are a fan of raisins!!

And then it was time for my favorite ride-Heimlich's Chew Chew Train!! It is extremely adorable!!
You should look up when you go under the watermelon for a nice surprise! Not that I would trick you or anything...

Well my mother and I wanted to go explore more of DCA while the morning was fresh, so we headed toward Paradise Pier!

Such a wonderful little garden that leads to...

Blue Sky Cellar! A completely empty one at that!

I can't wait for the Little Mermaid ride to open!!

My favorite feature in Blue Sky Cellar was probably this map! I thought it was so cool because it moves! It kept me entertained for longer than it should have!!
After we were satisfied watching the video they have in there, we decided it was time to leave and continue our way to Paradise Pier!

But how could we pass up the tortilla factory while it was on our way there! I had been looking forward to one all morning!! So we walked up to the doors and was told that they tortilla machine was broken. My heart was broken!

Well anyway, we stopped and got some fastpasses at California Screamin' and walked all the way around Paradise Bay. There was lots and lots of construction going on, so our walk was very brief.
We ended up at the Golden Zephyr and decided why not?

It is very relaxing and feels nice with the wind in your hair!!
By this time, the park was beginning to get some crowds. And also by this time, my sister was finally ready and in the park, so we met up with her and my dad in the front.

We stopped by the Animation Building. I could watch those screens all day if you'd let me!! They are big and beautiful and relaxing!!
After we chilled out beneath the screens, it was time for our fastpasses for Screamin'!
I love how the launch feels! It wakes me up, that's for sure!!

Hey look at those toys!! They'd be wonderful for your children next Christmas!

By this time, we the morning crowds for DCA were starting to come and so we wanted to go back to DL.

I spy a monorail with my little eye!
It was pretty busy in DL as well and my family started getting hungry.
So I got my absolute favorite thing to eat at DLR!!

A churro!! Yumm!! Whenever I go, I have to resist my cravings!! These things are way too delicious for their own good!

While my sister and I ate our churros, we relaxed on a bench in the hub and people-watched for a bit. Oh and my dad got a Dole Whip. Yumm!
After we were finished with our churros, my sister and I wanted to use our Indy fastpasses! (A great ride to go on after eating because of how bumpy it is, right?)

No! Don't pull on that rope!
Unfortunately, a group of boys we were sitting by decided to scream the whole ride! It was quite annoying! However, Indy never fails to deliver and it was a great ride nonetheless!!
Afterwards, we met up with our parents at HM!

This is my sister's favorite ride, so she was very excited!

The line seemed long when we got in the back of it, but it moved extremely fast! Before we knew it, we were standing in the stretching room! (sorry for the blurry picture!)
Hmm, the only thing in HM that actually creeps me out are the little pictures by the doors that are knocking by themselves!
