teenagers at disneyland?

We're going to disneyland with the teenagers for the first time and want to get advice on splitting up during the day. Am buying motorola talkabout 2-way radio's, and trying to convince them to wear fanny packs or something similar so as not to lose their loot. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

We live near Disneyland, and so go quite often. My 14 year old has been going to Disneyland & spending the day there w/her friends since they were 12/13. We would drop them off, then go back to the parks when it started getting dark .... just in case. Now we pick them up when they're ready to come home. They also have cell phones that they can use to call us.

My dd used to call me everytime she left the Disneyland Park to go to Disney California Adventure (they're right across from each other). As they got older, they only call to let us know they're okay.

You shouldn't have any problems with your teens at the parks, as long as they follow your's and the park's rules. There is security all around, and cameras all around, and it's pretty safe there.

Fanny packs are a great idea.

Our DS-14 has a radio, cell phone, wallet and glasses/sunglasses case (et'c) which seem to keep falling out of his pockets. He didn't think the fanny pack was very fashionable, but we made him use it. (We bought a leather Indiana Jones model at the park). It really worked out a lot better. Good luck convincing your teens .
The only thing about the motorolla 2-way radios is that they don't work everywhere (esp inside rides), so be patient in trying to contact them. It doesn't hurt to have a backup plan to meet someplace just in case.

Disneyland is very safe and I went by myself starting when I was about 11 or 12. Obviously we were in a group of kids, but I felt very safe at all times. My brother and I used to go by ourselves around that age also. We always had a meeting time with my parents and everything seemed to work out fine. Sometimes I don't know what we did without cell phones and radios.

No comment on the fanny packs.
