We've booked a Deluxe Family Stateroom with Verandah on the Dream for April 2024. (It has the extended verandah on Deck 5, so there's no Murphy bed that comes down from the wall.) My DS is 17 and short stature - - about 5'4". He plans to sleep on the sofa/bed. DD will be a month shy of turning 14 and is currently the same height as her big brother. She's all legs and seems to grow taller every day. Should we be concerned about her feet hanging off the edge of the upper berth? Tell me your experiences please.

As far as I know, they're standard twin bed lengths. I'm 5'6 and didn't have a problem with it. But then I'm more likely to be more curled up than flat. I still don't think I'd have had an issue.

My 14 yr old son was probably 5'2" last summer and slept just fine on the pull down bed; my daughter is 5'8" and slept on the sofa bed. No issues.

The last time we had to use the upper pull-down, DD was about 5'9" and was ok. She complained a tiny bit about needing the absolute full space.

HonestyI would trade the extended veranda for comfortable sleep any day and get a room with a murphy. Also, there is not a lot of space between the upper berth and ceiling so we found getting in and out of bed to be unpleasant for anyone not child sized.

Never used the pull down bed, but my 5'10"+ sized son fits on the sofa bed with no complaints.

I'm 5'6" and I've slept on the bottom couch and top pull down and had no issues. (Although I prefer the big bed but sometimes you have to sacrifice!)

I'm more wondering about bed length vs. ceiling space. And we're super pumped about that extended verandah! :D

You’re a much nicer person than me. I figure youth can suck it up and sleep anywhere.

We had an extended veranda off the back of deck 9 on the Dream for 11 glorious days in the Med last summer. We usually cruise oceanview. Got upgraded to veranda once on the Fantasy. Husband even talks about getting that room again. ENJOY! The beds should be fine. We cruised with DS 20 who is over 6 feet, and DD 13 who is about 5”5.

We've booked OGT an room a few times and have gotten the rooms that sleep 5 with the Murphy bed. Those are pretty nice.
