Will it harm her feet - maybe get flat feet by wearing flip flaps every day from spring to fall?

Naah, I knew girls who wore nothing but flip flops and spike heels for four years of college, and they are still delicately arched. In the grand scale of rebellion, this one is really wonderfully minor.

What Dana said!

I wish the school I worked at didn't allow it (Middle School), I'm always worried the kids are going to get their feet hurt, trampled in the hallways.

that's all i wear. :) college must be bad for the sneaker industry - almost everyone wears flipflops all the time. except for sports. :D

Flip flops can be so nonchalant/sexy.

I love wearing sandles. I'm a T-Shirt, shorts, and Sandles kind of guy.

I wear flip flops alot too and I still have the highest stupid arches in my feet... actually it's hard to find anyshoe that supports my arch without being frumpy.

My 11yo DD wears flip-flops most of the time. She also has a high arch and has a hard time finding shoes. Also in adult sizes (7) so styles that work for her are a little hard to find.

I live in my flip flops. You will find me in the early morning in January bundled from head to ankle, with my toes exposed in my flip flops. ;) So far it hasn't hurt me yet.

Flip-flops are my 2nd choice. My first is bare feet! :teeth:

Ya gotta have the toe sox or the whole thing is a bust.

I think that the biggest problem with those shoes is when they're worn by younger girls who have a hard time walking in them without tripping. As long as she's a few years into her teens and past that stage where her body is changing and it's hard to keep her ballance, she should be fine.

Kallison, I completely agree that schools should set rules regarding reasonable footware. I used to work with kids, and they were always getting their feet hurt because their parents let them go out in shoes that you really shouldn't wear if you're clumsy or around lots of people. Even clogs without heals in the back can be dangerous for elementary age kids who have recess. They're forever walking or running straight out of the their shoes and then falling.

My dds the one in college and the one in high school, wear flip flops all the time. As a teenager I did too and my feet are fine. I wouldnt worry as long as they have no pain.

Never hurt my feet any, but then I have big feet so I probably never would have known it anyway!!!:p

I don't think we were allowed to wear open toes in high school.

I'm so glad it's now acceptable to wear flip flops in places other than the beach. I love them!

I live in flip flops...During the winter I wear sneakers to school and than when I go to work I'm in heels..but every other time I am in my JCrew flip flops...I really need another pair lol

Have to chime in and agree with everyone else! I love them! The only thing better is no shoes.....yall know thats still legal down here in Mississippi

My 15yo wears hers almost daily, usually has her tennis shoes in her hand (for band practice).
It doesn't seem to hurt her feet, it just shreds her jeans--they're curled under her flips !

LOL, clogs can be dangerous for people of any age. I fell wearing mine today coming out of a building down the stairs, fell over on my ankle to the ground. I wasn't hurt at all, and thank goodness nobody saw, LOL. (But now for some reason I find myself admitting it to all of you! :p )
