Hey everyone!

My family is returning to Disney World for the first time in a couple of years this summer. Normally we do the character meals such as the Norway restaurant in Epcot, Cinderella's Castle, The Garden Grille in Epcot, Chef Mickey. Last time we were in Disney was 2002, and I'd like to try something new. The crew includes Dad 40ish, Mom 40ish, Me (20), Sister (15). We're all kids at heart, yet we've done most of the "traditional" character breakfasts/meals.

We haven't done the Liberty Tree character dining yet...any comments?

Also, any other suggestions, whether it's character dining, themed dining, or just generally good food.....they'll all be welcome!

Thanks!

i do remember doing that when i was younger...it was cool!

we've also done the 50s prime time cafe...it's a favorite...

One of my favorites and I am 33 (kid at heart with 2 little ones is 1900 Park Fare. It has always been Cindy & Prince Chrming when we went. Fairy God mother on occasion. It is a buffet but a very decent one. Just something about having the royalty in the room.

Gee Silverspark, I see you're doing my research for me.... :rotfl:

Love, Silverspark's mom!!

I love Sci-Fi, and I also love 50's Prime time Cafe. There's just something about watching your dad get yelled at for having his elbows on the table that makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside! :woohoo:

In December we did WDW with my teen and a friend who hadn't been there since she was 6...so we did the character thing a lot. Also did Sci-Fi and Beaches and Cream. The girls really had a lot of fun....and Prince Charming teased DD a lot about "her" prince. In May, we did a "big girl" trip with just DD and myself. No character meals, but anything else was okwith me. The big hits were 50s Prime Time, Le Cellier, Les Chefs de France, Coral Reef, and Planet Hollywood. The atmosphere at WCC was good, but we didn't care for the food.

Liberty Tree is one of our favorite spots, but the food doesn't compare to the above favorites!

My family did the LTT character meal in March. I had not been there since I was YOUR age, and I am 41 now! We enjoyed it. It is hectic and busy in there but the characters were fun and we all ate a LOT. The food was yummy -- turkey, pot roast-style beef, green beans, WONDERFUL mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese and I think apple cobbler for dessert. We all said it was like Thanksgiving with no dishes to clean up afterwards.

We ate early. I got the impression the place is like Chef Mickey's and Crystal Palace and the later you go the longer you'll wait, reservations or not. We ate by 6 and were seated right away. I got great photos of everyone with the characters in their colonial outfits, very cute.

Another thing your family might enjoy is the Hoop Dee Doo. It is a great family-style meal plus REALLY CHEESY show/entertainment. We ate an awful lot and laughed even more. My kids (8 and 12) want tot go back. We really enjoyed it. We had a wonderful waiter (Rob) and everyone in the place seemed to be laughing and eating and just enjoying themselves tremendously.

hahaha! oh i know! i love it when they make the parents finish their food! (payback....hehehe) ;)

We have decided on 1900 Park Fare this year. My girls are 10 and 13. They have seen all the characters - alot and we do find that they (characters) are not that interested in older kids - especially the princesses at the Castle - they did seem like we were a bother to them last time!

My kids cannot wait to see Suzy and Perla - Cinderella's mice - at 1900 Park Fare. I am hoping at least one of them will be there. That's what they have chosen this year for a character meal. It should be fun.
