Looking for a teen sleeping bag. Any ideas? I have seen some Wildkins that I like but the price is more then what I want to spend. They won't use them much but they have outgrown their kids sleeping bags.

target, walmart, sierra trading post have adult sleeping bags. They aren't cool like the star wars one pp listed but they all fairly inexpensive ones. You could also try amazon. If you want higher end bags, then try LL Bean, REI, EMS. REI on their outlet web page has them for as low as $60. LL Bean also has a fleece sleeping bag which is good for indoors, but doesn't have a lot of padding.

The question is... how is the teen going to use the sleeping bag? Is the teen going camping in a tent? If so, you may need a true camping sleeping bag for warmth in colder temps or lighter weight for higher temps. If you want a true sleeping bag that is. Then you want LL Bean, REI and true camping stores.

Now if the teen is using it for sleep overs or youth camps in a cabin that is temp controlled, you can look at websites such as Pottery Barn Teen. It may be a little young but The Company Store and Lillian Vernon has kids size sleeping bags that are cute.

Try Campmor.com. You will find some bargains on there. Excellent company - can usually beat REI prices. It doesn't seem like you need 30 degree plus sleeping bags - so you should find something fairly cheap., around $30. My son needed a -20 sleeping bag and we paid under $125 for it on Campmor.

If they are a boy scout and it is in the budget: http://www.rei.com/product/864539/the-north-face-cats-meow-sleeping-bag

This is a reasonably priced bag that has served DS well...

We picked one up from REI and then two more from an north face outlet store...

Note: Synthetic filled can get wet and still work. Down ones are nice for cold dry areas. I just worry about kids keeping a bag dry. The one linked to is synthetic...

Try Ebags. They sometimes have good deals on the Wildkins if you like those. You might be able to find coupons to use on the website at retailmenot.com or a different coupon site too. DD is 8, but tall for her age, I got her a Wildkins one for slumber parties at Ebags at a really good price a while back.

Dicks has a couple on sale that are a pretty good deal ($29) and they have free shipping.

I got my boys fleece sleeping bags from llbean when they were younger. They still have them in the trunks of their cars as emergency blankets. They worked great for sleepovers and even for summer nights outside, also as a liner for their regular bags.

For indoors DD loves her Pottery Barn Teen sleeping bag. It's easy to go nuts with matching pillow cases, totes, make-up bags, etc though, so be careful. ;)

For outdoors we went with a good sleeping bag from The North Face and it's been great for that purpose.

I agree with previous posters. If it's for indoor use, your local big-box store will have what you need fairly inexpensively. Coleman is a good brand, and Amazon has some for around $40.

If it's for real outdoor camping, I'd go with LL Bean. We bought DD a monogrammed full-sized sleeping bag from them 10 years ago. Looking at it now, you'd never guess how much use it's gotten - still looks like new and is very comfy (get the flannel lined). They have some on sale right now for $79.
