I know.
I am gonna be a somphore and I can't imagine being pregnant now.

Me either. And if Amy's a freshman, then she's my age and that's like WOAH.
I guess that's their goal, to show younger people what could happen and what you ruin. Her WHOLE ENTIRE HIGHSCHOOL CAREER will change because of this. And it's only the beginning of freshman year!

I find it odd, how the sophomores in this show are already talking about marriage...

Ditto. But, idk.

I also find that asian chicks ability to pull statisitics out of her butt kind of scary.

I'm sixteen and I could never ever ever imagine being responsible for another little human being.

I'm sitting right here staring at my little baby cousin Matthew. He's so precious and adorable. As much as I might love him I couldn't imagine having to raise him. To be a factor in what kind of man he'll be. To have him depending on me to feed, clothe and change his diapers. It's overwhelming to just THINK about it.

HAHAHAHAH I KNOW!
I'm like "How does this girl know all this information?!"

I don't think I'll ever, ever be ready for a kid. Not in the slightest.

I know. And that's the thing, it's like THINKING about what could happen changes you're opinion because you come to realize you can't handle it. But some girls I guess don't realize that and do it anyway..

I love Grace's brother.
He's awesome =)

I hope things work for Ben and Amy, they're so cute.
I won't be able to see the next episode until Wednesday, that feel so far away.

Me too! He was adorable.
I'm glad they actually have a mentally-challenged person in a regular series. It's great. This show truely shows all different types of people.

Me too. Ben loves her so much, they're such a cute...new couple.
Awe :( You'll see them! Hahaha. I'm always excited for the new ones.

I think I found the main reason I love Ben...
He reminds me of JT from Degrassi.
A lot, like when the camera is dead on his face...
They have the same brown eyes.

You know what they say about assuming...You make an *** out of you and me.
Don't assume people don't understand what you're saying.

its just the way it has been for 3 years now haha .
the same type of people , with the same experiences , same family beliefs , ect .

nobody in my school gets it .

i realize now you guys are different and might seriously understand .

I get that.

I debated so strongly on here about politics and religion for 1 1/2 years. Almost everyone here is respectful and level headed and I got used to that. Then I started talking about religion with my friends and family and I remembered that the nasty side of people can come out when they're debating. I wasn't used to people being so immature and close-minded, so it came as sort of a slap in the face.

Oh my goodness! You're right!

And life of the party- We are always here for you!

arent you like...12?
there are a lot of people here older and wiser than you.
this is a group of people from around the world, who have been through a ton of things that have made them strong people with strong beliefs.
never just assume that we 'wont understand'. cause you'll be surprised what we will understand.

um.
no.
some people
just
dont
mesh.
and no amount of love will fix that.

sex is an act between two mature consenting people. and there is absolutely nothing wrong with it. abstinence only is not good education, cause, to be honest, it doesnt work. flat out. it does not work.
educate teenagers in methods of contraception, because you cant make them not have sex if they want to, but you can make them safer and healthier.

it is no ones business if youve had sex or not. and its no ones job to look down on you if you have, which is what a lot of this thread has turned into.

if you want to save sex till marriage, thats fine. personally, i wouldnt commit the rest of my life to someone i dont know inside and out, for lack of a better term.

it is your choice if you choose to have sex. but, if you do or if you dont, you need to know the good bad and ugly of it. and part of that is methods of contraception and protection.

couldn't agree more.

i don't think sex should be the issue.
because there are ALOT more teens having sex and there are teens getting pregnant.
protection is the issue, and you can take all the precautions in the world, but there is still a small chance you can get pregnant.

i really don't necessarily think there is an age at which you are mature/stable enough to get pregnant. At 19 I know i'm not, and Im sure at 23, 25,27, or 30 I probably won't be. But being a mom is a learn-as-you-go expirience. YOu can't know what to do until the baby is there, infront of you, depending on you.
Women have maternal instincts at any age.
So I think it's fair to say that teens CAN be good mothers.
Another good point Shelby brought up before was that 150 years ago it was the NORM for girls to be pregnant and married by 17.

13 , the baby is 3 now .

and yes , it is shocking, how opinionated kids can be at 10-11-12+ !

but when you get used to such close minded people, you just expect it.

im happy people are more open minded here .

'

Times change.
It is NOT okay now.

Back in the bible, girls were being sold off as soon as they were a woman and married to have a baby.

Yes, back then that was fine, made sense, there wasnt the whole thing of being homeless, or being kicked out of your house. There wasnt all of this fancy equiptment back then also.

Now women go to college and even finish highschool.
I think if that were happening back then, then they wouldnt be married and having kids at 17.

Its not that teens shouldnt have babies, is teens now adays.
Theres too much to be doing with your life, then having a baby, at such an age.

Thats just an opinion of mine.

I find it kind of rude that you would bash out life of the party, because of her age. Im 13, and I have my opinions too. Maybe, I didnt read the whole post, and maybe it wasnt rude, but the post I just saw referring to her age, it upset me a little.

But haven't we evolved since then? What was the norm then isn't the norm now.

But haven't we evolved since then? What was the norm then isn't the norm now.

that's not what i'm saying at all.

my point is that 16-17-18 year olds are capable of being mothers.
they have the physical capability and maternal instincts that make them capable of being good mothers.
i didn't mean that 16 year olds SHOULD be having babies, I'm just saying that they CAN sustain another human life.

teenagers are babied alot more than they used to be.
even 50 years ago, people didn't live with their parents til they were 25 like today.
even 30 years ago, it was normal for people to be moved out of their parents houses by 18! (my dad all all of his friends were out on their own at my age)

so my basic point here is that teen mother =/= bad mother.
women all have maternal instincts that will guide them once they have a baby. age has nothing to do with it.
