I really don't care for Farrah, I think she is full of herself, but then you have to look at her environment and then you realize maybe why she is that way?

Exactly! Her mom is crazy and her dad is just...there. He obviously has no backbone. I would have been REALLY annoyed if my parents ever acted that way with my kid. She is Sophia's mother & they should have just let her read the dang card. The bath in the sink thing...yeah that was bad. I'm sure she assumed that since the camera crew was there it was fine. But that's just not good parenting! I agree that she could benefit from parenting classes. I did feel really bad when she was talking to the therapist about Sophia's dad. You can tell she is still dealing with his death & the reality that Sophia will never meet him or know him. Sad

I thought the pedicure thing was cute! And Sophia was such a good little girl sitting there and letting them massage her feet and paint her toenails. She's a doll!

Amber is ridiculous. Really really ridiculous. The best thing Gary could do for Leah AND himself would be to break up with Amber and NOT get back together. Amber is incredibly lazy, immature, and selfish. She thrives on drama and the way she curses constantly around Leah makes me cringe. I wouldn't be surprised if one of Leah's first words is a curse word Gary needs to end it with Amber so that Leah is not completely damaged by their dysfunction. But I doubt he will. He doesn't have the backbone for it.

I still love Maci. And I hope this Kyle guy is good for her. He seems nice enough. I want her and Bentley to get their happy ending

Catelynn needs to learn to give Tyler some space or their relationship will never work! She's so clingy and needy. I understand to an extent why she's like that b/c her home life has always been so uncertain and unsteady. But part of growing up & being an adult is not using your past as an excuse and trying to be better. If she can learn that she doesn't need to spend every waking moment with Tyler then I think they have a chance. They do seem like they love eachother

I have made the mistake of following the show on Television without pity and these people get way too involved it this stuff. Lets just say after reading over there I don't feel the Maci love that everyone feels. I think of all of them she is the best mom, BUT I also think she has it the easiest of all them. I think if she were poor like Caityln or had a family arrangement like Farrah she could easily be a different person.

I did notice that Bently didn't want to leave Ryan when he dropped him off, so while I think Ryan is a jerk, Bently does love him so he must have SOME redeeming quality!

Amber would be Amber baby or not. Leah just strikes me as a kid who will end up raising her parents before long. Even as a baby she just seems like an old soul. I know the shows are heavily edited, but she is one of the best babies I have ever seen. I want to like Gary, I really do. I have seen him around town and he seems like a nice guy. He is friendly with people, but I think he is content to keep Amber around rather than to try to make a new life.

Farrah needs some parenting classes STAT. While I think she is a brat, her mom is really strange and her dad just seems lost.

Caitlyn and Tyler are just heartbreaking. I can't believe they are getting no counseling. These are 2 kids that really need some help to get away and start a new life away from her mom and his dad.

I am thinking Farrah is also getting social security money for Sophia b/c she has a deceased father. Also, she probably has taken out loans for school and is also living off of that. She has a really nice apt. and seems to be living better than most single moms.

I only watched parts of the last episode because I was talking some phone calls from relatives on an event we were planning. There have been different rumors since last year about whether Sophia's dad Derek knew Farrah was pregnant. Some people have posted online that Farah and her mom lied about a lot of stuff about Derek. There were rumors that Derek abused Farrah. I know someone on the MTV boards did an IA court records search on Derek and nothing came up. Recently on the MTV boards Derek's step sister posted in response to another poster who claimed that Derek knew about Farrah's pregnancy and wanted to be there for her but Farrah's parents made her break up with them. Derek's step sister said that she thinks Farrah's mom meddled in the situation. She said that Derek said he loved Farrah.

There have been rumors that they are being paid. Back in 2003 a blogger confirmed that the Real World participants were being paid $4,000 to appear on the show. The only MTV show that has been confirmed to not pay partipicipants is the documentary series True Life. Several people who have appeared on that show have confirmed that weren't paid. Recently one partipcant and her mother havebeen pretty much proven to have used the show for money reasons because they had been homeless but all they really wanted was monetary donations and they weren't interested in helping themselves.

there's an article and interview with farah in the latest star magazine. according to derek's mother he thought he was the father and wanted to be part of sophia's life. the article also says farah is going to take sophia to his gravesite. hopefully she'll also take her to meet his family,it would be good for both of them. she definately needs to take parenting classes.


i think amber and gary need to break up, she has anger problems she's either yelling at him or trying to hit him. i think leah is adorable.

i like maci she seems to have her head on straight and is a good mom to bentley.

i feel badly for tyler this seems to be really hard on him,he needs counseling.

I don't know where she is getting the money from, I bet her family is still supporting her financially in some way, more so for Sophia's sake.

Her apartment is nice, my fiance makes a decent salary and her apartment looks nicer than ours lol. I mean we do live in NJ, where cost of living is insane, but still.

They do get paid as confirmed by the formsprings of a couple of the girls from Sixteen and Pregnant S1 and S2.

I'm curious where all of Farrah's income is coming from. There definitely has to be some sort of welfare support going on. Her check for the apartment was for $1300 - likely first and last month's rent - which would make it $650/month. That's a lot of money for her circumstances (school, kid, and only part time work).

I have watched both seasons of Teen Mom, actually watched them when they were "16 and pregnant" too. I just typed up this huge reply with all my very profound ( ) thoughts and I somehow hit a button and lost it. So I'm making this one short and will post more later...

I do have a question about Farrah...is her dad on the show actually her dad? I know she refers to him as Sophia's grandpa and everything but I recall on more than one occasion that she called him Michael. She does resemble him though. Not that it matters either way but just curious. Oh and what exactly happened to Sophia's dad? I'm guessing it was unexpected, like a car accident or something?

And yes I about lost it when I realized where Farrah was in relation to Sophia in a full, soapy sink and turned the water on. She so easily could have fallen out of the sink, fallen forward and hit her head or turned the water on herself and gotten burnt. Wow.

Yes he is Farrah's dad. I don't think they have a great relationship which is why she probably calls him by his real name. (my opinion anyway)

Derek, Sophia's dad was killed in a car crash shortly after Christmas 2008.

I agree...but maybe MTV pays for some of the restaurant meals so that they can get them out of the house. New scenery, possible fights in public, that sort of thing.

Maci appears to have a better financial situation, but her and her friends eat out fairly often as well. I was in college without a baby and my friends and I didn't eat at sit down restaurants that much.

Amber and Gary letting Leah have the run of that candy store... OMG!
Also, the 16 hour car trip to FL... Amber acted like more of a baby than Leah. She is ridiculous! I also felt that Amber's uncle kind of pushed Gary into asking Amber to marry him... AGAIN! He should stay out of it.

I wish Catelynn and Tyler would enunciate more when they speak. They have entire conversations with each other, that I can't hear or understand. Sometimes they add subtitles to the bottom of the screen. WTH... they need to do that for the entire conversations.

Ryan's gf seems nice and I agree with Maci that she seems more mature than Ryan and I'm glad she spoke up and told Maci about Bentley hitting his mouth. I just wish one of them would have spoke up and said, "Hi, I'm so-and-so...nice to meet you." I agree that it should be Ryan who introduces them, but obviously he's not going to...

Farrah didn't have, or they didn't show, any real 'bad mommy' moments this week...thank goodness! It seems like she's trying more.

Farrah is trying. I can't fault her for that. She has come along way since Sophia was born. I feel sorry for her mom though. She's clearly going through something. They both need counseling, its really sad.
Maci reminds me of myself when I had my DD at 16. Its all about her and Bentley. She is so focused and hands on. I have mad respect for that girl! Ryan is immature. Why is he always yawning like he's bored.
Amber & Gary. Leah is more mature then they are are. I can't believe they allowed that child to roam that candy store. On the drive down to Florida, Amber nagged more then Leah and poor Leah sounded like she was coming down with a cold, she was so fussy!
