Las Vegas teen friendly hotel

planning on visiting Las Vegas this oct-nov time with our DS 14
was wondering which would be the best Teen friendly hotel ,

we stayed in the Venetian in October and I would say this is not the right hotel for teens.(although it was stunning and we loved it) We visited all the hotels and the one that we liked most is the Bellagio. This had a much more light, bright and airy feel to it.(you don't smell the cigerette smell everywhere) The conservatory area puts on some really nice displays that sort of reminds me of Disney. Although this may not be you DS cup of tea it just sort of shows you that they are child friendly. I really did not like the hotels like New York New York, Treasure Island, Circus Circus or the Stratosphere although all of them your son might well prefer as they have more teen attractions in them. But you won't be staying in the hotel all day anyway, I assume, so I would stay somewhere nicer then these and just visit them.. enjoy.

Personally, i do not think it matters where you stay [exceptions for us is Stratosphere and Circus Circus] as you will not spend a lot of time in your hotel with so much to see. maybe 1 with a nice pool area, my DD liked the MGM pool, and Mandalay Bay has a nice pool area.
We stayed in Signature Suites which where very nice, but did not really do much in the hotel as we where always out sometimes getting in about 2:30am and out after showering the next day.
Lots to see and do and maybe plan a show or 2 that might suit him.
My DD 14 at the time loved Vegas, just walking the strip and looking around the hotels, and she liked fremont St as well

We stayed at Excalibur with my then 14yo son. It was a child friendly enough hotel. I think either that or New York New York. If you want to stay on the strip.

They both have great video game arcades, that my son really enjoyed, as well as good counter service food.

Another vote for NYNY. I have stayed at many places on the strip and I'd say NYNY is one that would really scream out as being fun for a teen. They have a really cool themed food court as well as a huge arcade upstairs and a sports restaurant (it used to be an ESPN Zone but it was re-branded, but it's basically still an ESPN Zone) downstairs. They also have the roller coaster, although it's expensive to ride.

Minors aren't allowed on the casino floor, but out of all the other hotels, NYNY has the most for a 14 yo to do, I'd say.

I am sure you have booked by now, but consider a few nights downtown. I think the Golden Nugget is teen friendly. There is no "strip" downtown, instead a nice pedestrian only promenade the entire width of the streets. Free shows and impersonators etc. A fun festival atsmophere.

Back in the day when LV was trying to market to families, there was a lot of free and cool stuff for the kiddies to do at Excalibur and Circus Circus. Free stage shows, etc.

Most of that is gone and, IMHO, what is left is quite run-down.

Just don't think there are really any kid-friendly hotels in LV. They are starting to market to people who travel with pets though!

I don't know if I agree with this. They are starting to put some money into the run-down casinos (e.g. Plaza), but I wouldn't go so far as to describe it as family friendly. Maybe for a 2 hour visit with the family but not to have them stay there. You are only a block from some pretty questionable neighborhoods ....

Anyway, just MHO.

I actually described it as teen friendly. When I am on the strip, I don't travel one block off the strip, and same for downtown.........I just assume I don't want to be there !

I would agree with NYNY. If that isn't an option, find a hotel that is close to the monorail. Its nice being able to travel as a family up and down the strip to the various hot spots.

I can suggest many teen friendly hotels, all of the hotels at Disneyworld! Probably most of the hotels at Disneyland! So many Great Wolf Lodge hotels! Why do people want to take there kids to Vegas. What I saw last week was very may hookers, a 60-70 year old man getting his head cracked open by security at Harrahs (I'm sure the kids would enjoy the blood), I saw Homer Simpson (in his underwear with a Beer in his hand), I saw Sylvester the cat with a Beer in each hand, I saw many entrapaneurs on the strip asking for $20 to be kicked in the nuts, there is also the old standby hispanics slapping porn ads in your face while you walk the strip! I love Vegas but will never understand people who think the strip is a good idea for kids......there is violence, prostitution, underage drinking, and of course drugs and they have beautiful pools that I would be ashamed to take my child too because of what happens there and they close at 6 pm so you will go to the casino. I will again say that I love Vegas, but people with kids on the strip just piss me off........go on a cruise, they have gambling and the kids will at least be safe! An even better thought is take your child to a family friendly place......maybe one that doesn't have hookers!!!!!!

I'm going with for sure 2, possibly three teens in June. Haven't booked the hotel yet, but thinking Flamingo, they refurbed their rooms, I like the ones with the wood floors (great if you have allergies) they have a nice big pool area, and they also put in a food court with a Johnny Rockets, pizza, Mexican, and their rates are reasonable.

The other strong contender is the Mirage because I'm bringing them to the Beatles "Love" show the night we get there, they have nice rooms, mid priced, nice pool area, tropical feel, dolphin show, volcano show, great location!!

I know this is an old thread and an old post, but officially the Bellagio is not child friendly. They have possibly the least child friendly official policies of any hotel-casino in Las Vegas.

Guests must be at least 21 years of age to gamble in the resort.

You must be at least 18 years of age or a registered hotel guest to enter the Bellagio resort.

The following exceptions apply to minors who are at least 5 years of age and accompanied by an adult at least 18 years of age:

• Restaurant reservations for Circo, FIX, Jasmine, Le Cirque, Michael Mina, Picasso, Prime, Sensi or Yellowtail

• Gallery of Fine Art

Strollers are allowed for hotel guests only.

They technically don't even allow anyone under 18 to go to their buffet. I understand that often these rules aren't enforced, but they do have their official policies available if they feel like enforcing them.

I had a friend that had family in the Vegas area. When she would visit she would stay with family part of the visit and at one of the Station hotels another part. Her local nephew would stay with them in the hotel with my friend and her son. I want to say there was a bowling alley and/or movie theater along with the arcade. In other words things for the young teens to do while my friend was in the casino.
