Will my daughter who will be 12 years and 9 months old when we cruise, be able to go to the teen club with her 14 year old cousin? How strict our they. This will be our third cruise and she loves the Kids Club, but may to old for it now?
Thanks :Pinkbounc

They may let her in as she is so close to age 13, I think it depends on how full the club is. If she does go here and doesn't like it, she can go back to the other club but she can only change once. How much she likes the teen club will depend on if there are other kids her age or if they are all older. Just remember, you will also have kids who are 17 in there discussing God knows what, so be prepared for that. As long as you're comfortable with her hearing certain things, then go for it.

hi yes she should be able to go into the teen club.. they are strict but she should be able to go in there as long as she acts mature enough..hope it all works out you have a magical cruise

Actually, they are very strict about moving to the next age group. The rule is that you must be within 30 days of the birthday to move up.

You can ask, and the actual answer would depend on how full they are and the ages of the kids in the teen area. Remember that there is a huge difference between a 12 year old and a 17, and that one of the benefits of the teen area is "no little kids." They do try to keep family groups together when possible and to keep parents happy...so it is not a "no way" but a "don't count on it."

Even if they deny the 12 year old admission to The Stack, there are lots of places that the two of them can hang together--movies, deck 9 stuff, pool, arcade, any "family" activities, etc.

My 12 1/2 year old was told "No" to the teen area (it was still COmmon Grounds then)...this by phone without ever meeting her or making an assessment of maturity. This is a girl educated primarily at home who takes classes at the local university. Since she celebrated her 13th birthday in The Stack and has had one other cruise as a teen, I'm actually glad they denied her at 12 1/2. It was much more special to have to wait.

We are just back from our third cruise and our two oldest DS14 and DD13 both went to the stack. I worried about 13 year olds being with 17 year old teens but, during our cruise I believed that everything was great. Our daughter met a boy and they were together a lot on the cruise and he spent the entire day with our family at Castaway Cay. Both my husband and I thought he was very nice. During the cruise the teen center would have dances at night that would start at midnight and go until 2:00 a.m. and our daughter thought we were awful for not letting her go. In no way were we going to let our 13 year old daughter stay out after midnight. I thought at the time that Disney should have an earlier dance for the 13 - 15 years old teens and the later time for the 16 and 17 year old teens. A 13 year old teen is a lot more niave than a 16 or 17 year old and they so want to fit in that they are easily talked into going with the crowd. They also had a pajama party ( she did not go ) and I don't know what your teen girls are wearing but, I can not think of any pajamas that would be appropriate to wear with teen boys. Well, now that we have been home and the boy has been calling and e-mailing many times everyday we found out that he is 16 and not 14 as he told us on the cruise. As you can imagine we are very upset and our daughter is VERY grounded. Our daughter must take responsibility for going along with the lie but, I wish that the teen groups were split up so the 13 years olds were not grouped with the 16 and 17 year old teens. So if you are wanting to send an even younger child I would like about it carefully.

to answer your question YES she will beable to go in the club. i was first there when i was 13 and then again when i was 14 and when i was 14 there was two kids i hung out there that were 12 and a half (acted WAY older than they were) and there was NO problems with the older guys or girls. everyone hung out togeather and had a great time. there was no problems at all with the dances and i dont know if they even have pajama partys anymore??? maby they brought them back but im not sure. in my oppinion (im 15) i think its NO big deal at all for a younger and older person haning out...it makes the younger kids act way more mature. also in the stack there is ALWAYS at least one and almost always two counslers in the stack. i would of been very dissapointed if i couldnt of went to the dances. Just my oppinion :)
Eric ( i cant spell^^)
