Teen bathing suits

I tried those and was told- "those are for old ladies not teens"
:confused3 I guess these are the horrid teen years that I always heard about- but never had with my DS-

:laughing: I suggested Lands' End to DD(14) and she said she didn't like them. I think she was trying to spare my feelings. She knows that's where I get my swimsuits from.

I'm 18 and don't like the skimpy ones. I got new suits this year: one from Target, and a few from American Eagle/Aerie. I like Old Navy's suits too.

Same issue with my 14 year old. We finally found on at Old Navy. The bottoms are boy shorts which she was so surprised she liked when she tried them on. The top has a thicker strap instead of a string. They are solid colors and only $10 a piece!

My dd 15 (very modest dd) got a halter top and a bikini bottom that has
1.5 inch sides at Old navy..I think it did a wonderful job covering properly.....yet not enough for my dd I was then required to purchase board trunks to her knees from lands end....I guess I need to consider myself luck to have such a modest DD.

My favorite is Victoria's Secret. Some of their suits get pricey but a solid colored top and bottom isn't too bad and there's a lot to mix and match.

Other places I love to swimsuit shop- Target and Old Navy.

My dd 15 prefers the boy short bottoms (so do her father and I) but we are having a very hard time finding them this year. So far we've only seen them at K-mart. The mall had nothing. I've had success at Kohl's every other year but not this year. It's frustrating.

DD wears a bikini top and little swim shorts. She doesn't like the bikini bottoms because she says it feels like her cheeks are hanging out.

Delia's had a lot of cute bikinis. DD13 and I were shopping today, but Delia's swimsuits are still too big for her. She is right in between a kids 12 and 14 in bathing suits and we can't find anything. She was even willing to go to Justice (which shocked me) and she found a very plain, un-Justice looking bikini (no neon or peace signs), but the 12 was too small and the 14 was too big.

I second Delia's. They have a lot of age appropriate styles. H&M has tons of simple bathing suits as well. If anything, you could look for the kind with the skirted bottom or swim shorts.

I'm going to third Delia's. You can mix and match and they have bottoms that cover and bottoms that kinda cover. All three of my girls got their suits from Delia's this year. If you don't have one near you, you can go online.

The bottoms run small and the tops run normal. My youngest girls are 5'1 and 100 lbs. They got med bottoms and x-small tops. My oldest is 5'6 and 130, she got x-large bottoms and a med top. They cover the bottom area well!

My dd 11 was able to find 2 really cute tankinis through the speedo company website. I know they also have womens sizes. They had patterns and plain colors.:thumbsup2
