DD (almost 13) has Patella Femoral Stress Syndrome and probably Plica Syndrome. Anyone have these, and have surgery to correct it? How did it go?

No, I believe that my cousin had this, had the surgery, and went on to play soccer in college. She is currently a hs soccer coach.
I feel for you though. I have a son who is a hs distance runner. He had one stress fracture, and was diagnosed with a second and it was decided that it was probably shin splints. He also surfs and skateboards and has had sprained ankles, a broken hand, a broken arm and broken foot bones. This sounds bad, but considering how crazy he is, it should be much worst.
Cross country season is gearing up now, and my goal is to get him thru it with no injuries. Yikes.

I have noticed in PT that there are lots of teenagers that have had to go through this type of surgery. Most of them seem to be going through PT very well and seem to get their strength back pretty quickly.

I hope that helps a little.:D Good luck with the surgery.
