I read that article today. I love the part about how "the kids came up with the name." Yet the teacher gets punished because she allowed it. Very nice. Oh, and none of the parents complained. What a bunch of nuts. Not the parents, I mean the people who are going after this woman.

OK, When I first heard a news blurb about this I thought they said she "had not" allowed it and people were upset. Now I see it was because she allowed the name. I still am really confused about HOW this is an insult?:confused3 I guess I will have to do some more reading on it.

So, Teachers such as her are there to Educate?? Some, cannot be Educated so why do some still insist on trying?

Send her home, do her a favour, but Jail time? Pretty primitive. Rather like that side of the World IMO

I'd be relieved to see that backward place disappear in the airplane window. :scared: Yes, I said it....backward. I don't even try to be tolerant of people like that anymore. I used to be very tolerant, but I got sick of my tolerance being abused. :headache:

Thankfully she was only given 15 days in jail and she has already served 5 of those. If I were her, I would be happy to be deported.

I suspect you are not alone! Many peoples 'fuses' are getting short. I sense less tolerance all over now...

I have never been, and never shall be, tolerant of ignorant fools. That is what these people in Sudan are. They are no different from the Klan or Nazis of old, just a different perverted basis for their actions. I have no sympathy for them as they choose to follow these religious fools that lead them.

And thousands of Sudanese are calling for her execution. Makes me wonder how British Muslims feel about the situation. I remember when the Ayatollah put the death sentence on Salman Rushdie and Cat Stevens supported the Ayatollah. What an ugly situation.

They need to get her out of that country ASAP. Then when she gets back to GB, they need to put her in some kind of protective identity program.

Yes, GB needs to get this poor woman back on British soil asap!

And shut the door on the place on the way out too!!!!!!!!!!!

In the mid-80s, I lived in Australia for a while. One night, a bunch of us were out (including other Americans) and we were driving around looking for a place to get a snack. Back then, places open at 10:00 or 11:00 at night on a weeknight were few and far between.....things just closed earlier. Anyway, we're squinting out the windows in all directions and two of us Americans spot some Black guys in a small cafe. Actual Black guys, not Aboriginals. Suffice to say, you did not see them much in Australia in the mid-80s either. No lie, they were the first we had laid eyes on. So we wheeled in and decided to eat there. We had to get the story on this one.

They turned out to be nomadic tribesman from Sudan and the horror stories they told curled our toes. Their group of people were systematically being decimated and being nomads was the only thing that gave them half a chance, as they could at least "pick up and run" fairly quickly and easily. From their description, they were basically hunted like animals. This little group had somehow gotten enough money together (maybe they had sponsors?) to flee to Australia. They said they would never go back because sooner or later, they'd be killed too, just like the rest of the people they knew. :scared1: Over the past 20 years, it doesn't sound as if life has gotten much cheerier in Sudan. :sad2:

Boy, are we lucky......:thumbsup2
