Anyone flown with TED yet? We got a pretty good rate out of O'hare (chicago) to MCO. Wondering what is different? Why change the name from united? Thanks, MKY princess:

Ted is the (relatively) new low-cost division of United (like Delta and Song), thus the different name. United (and Delta with Song) developed it to compete with the JetBlue's, Southwest's, etc. Time will tell if it works. I haven't flown it myself.

I flew Ted from Orlando to Chicago and visa versa. I thought it was pretty boring compared to Song and Jet Blue. I connected to their flights and used Miliage Plus miles so I don't know what the cost was. Song and Jet Blue have the TV's and Ted doesn't. There are TV screens scattered around the plane but you have no control over what you watch. If I had my choice I'd take Jet Blue in a heartbeat. By the way, they tell you that they sell meals on the plane but both flights I took announced they only had the little bag of snacks and drinks. I was expecting much more from Ted considering what they're up against.

Just returned from a trip flying TED. We flew out of Dulles to LasVegas and on the way down we were in row 17 and there was very little leg room. On the way back, we were in row 5 and the leg room was good. The crew on the way down were very unprofessional. The attendant serving the drinks asked me what I wanted and I said a diet pepsi please and he honestly rolled his eyes at me. I had to bite my tongue. By the way, they do not have any coke products. The flight attendant on the speaker starting laughing as she was giving the safety instructions. In fact, she was laughing so hard that she turned the PA off and 3 minutes later started over again and then started laughing all over again. This was the most unprofessional crew I have ever encountered. The flight crew on the way back was fine.

I have flown Ted several times with no problems. Found the crews very professional and accomodating.

United changed all flights to MCO to Ted at O'Hare.

I flew TED direct from Boston to LA and returned with them with at stop in Denver. I had no problems at all and all were on time. All were comfortable. Meals were offered on the longer flights. There were 2 choices, one was a ceasar salad, I can't remember the other. All the attendants were very pleasant.
Only other airline I have ever flown was Delta so I really haven't much to compare it to But I had no problems

I have flown Ted several times Dulles to Orlando. Service has been good as any, flights were on time and the fleet is all new Airbus 320 series from Dulles at least. I have only been in Economy plus and the leg room is not bad there. I have had fares as high as $335 and as low as $149.

I have flown TED several times

IAD-LAS
LAS-DEN
LAX-DEN

Every flight on TED has been great. The planes are clean and the interior is bright. United has apparently taken their newer Airbus 320's for conversion over to TED.

I have also sat in both Economy Plus and Economy and found the leg room to be fine. Obviously Economy Plus is better though.

Ted's a good airline...give them a try!

I've been flying United since I was 13, and just flew my first TED flight in August.

To be honest, the only differance I noticed between normal UA flights and TED, is that there is no first class on the flight. It's the same UA attendants, the same UA piolots, the same everything. The meal-to-purchase was decent, around $8 for a salad or sandwich and was tasty. Non-alcholic drinks are still free, $5 for beer, wine, and liquor. Same in flight magazines. One the way there they showed sit-coms, on the way back they had a movie.

So, if you are used to UA and like them, you'll be just fine with TED.

Just flew Ted yesterday from MCO to ORD. It's United's no-frills subsidiary. There are only two types of seating, economy plus and economy. Non-alcoholic drinks are free - you pay for everything else. Food is o.k. but pricey - I brought my own breakfast. You may find a few pillows/blankets in the entire plane - but you have to search. There are free headsets in the seat pockets in "happy" TED colors. The flight crew is also "happy" - hence the joking around. I had no choice but to fly Ted in and out of ORD - I prefer United but since I slept on the flight it didn't make a difference. By the way, the first flights of the day both ways were only half-full. Many people moved to the back and slept on entire rows of seats.
