I'm a tech theatre major researching for the disney internship but i have no idea what my options are for the tech side. help?

Yay! Another theatre major!

To answer your question, it all depends on what part of the tec theatre major you are (my university has a Production/Design major, but different concentrations within that major).

If you're costuming major, there's several roles for you:
# Costuming Project Analyst
# Costuming Design
# Costuming Buyer
# Costuming Workroom

There's also a Costuming Host/Hostess role in that area, where you issue costumes at different facilities, do light laundry, etc.

If you're a hair/makeup design major, they have a Cosmetology Host/Hostess role where you apply theatrical makeup to cast members, maintain wigs, and can help out with parades and film shoots at the resort. With this major, I would probably also look at working at the Bibbidi Bobbiti Boutique.

There's also a Graphic Design role, a Disney Design Group - Creative Assistant role, and a Disney Design Group - Character Artist role.

That's it as far as theatre related roles go, from what I found on the Disney Professional Internship website. I would talk to either a Disney representative or your university adviser if those aren't what you're looking for.

I'm a stage manager too!

The closest internship I've found is Entertainment Management. But even then it's not really stage-manager-y. Outside of internships they have tech spots open all the time!

The Entertainment Manager Internship is a possibility - those are the people who call the shows. Typically they will start by working with Characters and then work their way up to shows/parades. However, the Ent MI is extremley difficult to get. This semester (Spring 11) only one person was selected.

Additionally, there are tons of Technician Internships. These are not part of the Professional Internship program, they are posted seperately. Just keep your eyes posted on the jobsonline website.

actually I'm a stage manager...:)

I am also a stage manager!!
I am thinking of just doing the normal cp for now and then hoping to get a tech role later on.
But I'd love to look into some other options too.
People I've talked to think im crazy for considering the cp when there are no specific stage management roles. So i'm hoping to figure something out!
