This isn't a life or death kind of thing, but I'm hoping that somebody here might have an idea how to help with a problem I'm having with Windows 7 regarding the Windows Photo viewer.
I take a lot of pictures, and always transfer them to my computer. The program I use most often to view them is Windows Photo viewer (I just find that it's the easiest to use for quick viewing).
Recently something odd happened, I have been getting an unusual yellowish tint whenever I view my pictures. There is a somewhat strong yellowish border that was never there before around the pictures (Instead of the normal white border that was always there), and the pictures themselves are also getting an annoying yellowish tint to them.
the thumbnails of the pictures are perfectly fine, but when I actually open the picture up the yellowish tint takes place.
If I use any other photo viewing program the pictures are also perfectly fine, it only seems to affect the Windows Photo Viewer.
I've tried to look up the problem on Google, and have seen a couple of reports of the same issue, but couldn't find an answer (at least not one that worked). I might eventually try and contact Microsoft, but that isn't always the most fun (or very quick) experience, and I was hoping that I might find an answer here first.
So, if any of you computer wizards (or even someone who just spent the night at Motel 6
) have any ideas as to what the problem might be, and what I might be able to to to try and fix it, I would greatly appreciate it.
Again, it's not a life and death kind of thing, but it is rather annoying.
As always, I appreciate any help with this.
Let me add that when I use the Windows Live photo Gallery, the yellowish border isn't there, but the pictures themselves still do have a yellowish tint to them (especially when I compare them to what they look like in a different program).
