Tech geniuses, please help! Sony Wega problem. UPDATE: SONY SUCKS!

I have a rear projection Sony Wega TV. It's about four years old.

Recently the display such as the menu, CC etc. keeps rolling down....you know, like the old TVs where the picture would roll down or sideways and you'd fix it with the knobs. But the picture is fine, it's only the meny and cc bands that keep doing this.

This is a big problem because my mom depends on the CC to fully enjoy the tv. I had to disable the CC because having to follow it up and down, up and down was making her dizzy!

What can the problem be, and is is something I can fix? Any help would be appreciated!

I asked DH, he's pretty savvy with stuff like this, but he said with the rear projection he's not quite sure because technically rear projection it's like 3 small tv's in one and it might be a control panel issue. He recommends contacting Sony tech support, or call a local tv repair shop. They usually give quick repair advice for free. Good luck!

I asked a techician, and he told me it was something about a C circuit.....needs to be replaced by a pro. The piece alone costs over $600.00 that's without labor.

What a piece of #$%^ My last Sony went on for 15 years without problems, and this one, so much more expensive....

This is too much $$$$$ for me to spend right now......It's going to have to stay the way it is

Did you call Sony? I would call and keep going up the ranks.. explain how your mom depends on the CC... maybe they will help you!
