Thanks again for a fantastic trip report Alan. I've really enjoyed it - especially all the phots of your lovely family having such a fabulous time.

My sister lost her husband a couple of years ago and says some of the best family memories were from their holidays together (they only did Disney once unfortunately). Treasure those memories you never know when you're going to need them.

Our next trip is only 55 days away-can't wait!. We've already booked for next year too-we want to do haloween at Disney - so will be going last two weeks of Oct.Now reviewing my ADRs to see if we can fit Kona in at all-if not it'll have to be next Oct!

I so enjoyed your trip report as did my 9 yr old son! Clearly your TR counts as summer reading! We are going on our first trip in Sept, me, DH, DS9, DS7, DD5 & DS 7months, we can't wait and you've made it harder!!

We really are Griswold's, I married into the name, and always get comments checking into hotels and at restaurants when we're on "vacation."

We are originally from New Orleans and LOVE the Florida
Panhandle, you'll have a fabulous time. We miss it something awful, the Jersey Shore just doesn't compare.

I'm so chuffed (ahem, english term meaning happy!) that the outcome of your trip was that you want to go back! That's what the place does to you I couldn't believe it last year when DH agreed to another trip less than six months after we'd got back - he got the bug!
Lovely that you could go on the deluxe dining plan and treat your family, we don't stay on site as our girls are quite young and don't cope with staying up late and surviving on little sleep, but I would like to stay onsite in a few years time and it'll be the dining plan all the way
Your trip report has encouraged me to make more effort to eat in resort restaurants as well as park ones. I love also the way that you do really work as a team, when yourself and DS wanna hit the big rides and the girls want to rest it's cool that you do your own thing (we learnt to do this more on our last trip and it worked well ).
You write informatively and intelligently Thank you again or sharing your holiday, ooops I mean, vacation with us.

Hey Joanne! As you can tell from the report, my wife and I are "foodies!" We love to eat out, especially when we are on vacation. When we started planning our trip, we wanted to do the Deluxe Dining Plan and really get the full experience. I hope we can do it again on our next trip.

Alan I will miss your daily updates soooo much!! we are thinking of a May 2009 trip too! We will probably go early May it hinges on DD getting time off .We will probably stay at Pop! and have the basic DDP! The new places we want to try are Coral Reef, Chef Mickey's,and Kona oh! and Cape May !!

Cool! Definitely keep this thread in your subscriptions and put up a post when you konw for sure your dates for 2009. Also, there is a MAYers board you should check out called "These are the MAYs of our lives." Great thread!

Hey Beka! I'll probably start a pre-trip report in the not-too-distant future. We've got a trip to the beach planned for late July and after that we'll start planning our return to WDW!

I just spent the last couple of hours reading through your whole report. I sooooo enjoyed all the posts. You guys ate at some of the same restaurants we are trying in August so I loved your food pictures!!

Okay, I got THE LAST reservation open for Kona on August 7th!!!

Since we are just going w/my husband on a business trip, we will be paying OOP for this meal! Ouch!

I may try your wings appetizer as my meal. Are you sure it was enough for a meal??

Oh yeah! If I were paying out of pocket at Kona, I would definitely order the wings as a meal. I can still remember how great those were....yum!

You are absolutely right about embracing the moments we share together. My bosses father died this week and I went to the funeral today. You just never know how much time we have, and I think we should all make the most of it. Some of my fondest memories of my childhood were the summer trips my family took. It is very important to me that I share memories like these with my children. (And that's why I compare myself to Clark Griswold!)
