Enjoying your report! I love all the pics!! Looks like dinner at California Grill was wonderful!! I can't believe the things your son ordered AND ate, what an adventurous eater for 11!! Also glad he liked Space Mountain!! Can't wait to hear more!!

This is a great first trip review Please keep it comming.

Great report! Thanks :thumbsup2

What building did you stay in at CSR? How did you like it?

We stayed in the Ranchos building 6A, room 6170. I loved it. It was a short walk to the dig site pool, a shorter walk to one of the quiet pools, and an even shorter walk to the bus stop #3. Our room was about as far away from El Centro and you can get, but we rarely had a need to go to El Centro. Plus, my family is in pretty good walking shape. About a month prior to our trip, we started walking between 3 and 5 miles 4 days a week. It really helped!

Alan (er, Clark?)

Wonderful!! Nice kids!!

(From Luis, who is planning his Sept. '08 trip, with DW, DD (5) and D-Nephew(12). BTW, my DD is, also, a "Drama Queen" (I'm pretty sure she must have been a sopa opera star in a former life :)).

Thanks, Luis! Hopefully this trip report will help you pass the time until your trip in September. It's nice to know someone else has a little Drama Queen!

Ooh I'm in, your pictures are fantastic and your daughter has the best smile ever!
Glad you loved the California Grill, I've heard some glowing reports about that place!
Great 'bribe' with your DS, looks like he's going to get that $10 as well! Yay for him riding, and loving Space Mountain! :thumbsup2
Can't wait for the next installment!

Welcome aboard! DD8 is quite the poser, I must say! We did love the California Grill. It is expensive, but worth it. I would say that it was one of those experiences that made our entire trip magical. You feel like a V.I.P. being up on that balcony watching the fireworks. It's amazing!

I was proud of DS for conquering Space Mountain. Later in the day, we went back and rode again.

Great report! Thanks for sharing!!

Thanks, Buzz! You are THE CSR man! One of the single best tips we got from the boards was the bypass trick on the room thermostat. Thanks!

I'm loving your report. We are staying at CSR in August. Can't wait to read more-you must have always had a camera out!

Lisa

Thanks, Lisa. My DW used to make fun of me for taking so many pictures, but since the digital camera came along, why not? I know your trip to CSR in August will be awesome!

It appears that a lot of readers to this thread are staying at CSR. I've got lots of pictures, so I'll keep posting them.

In getting the kids up, we always tried to give them some rest time during the day. If you're staying on property, it is a great luxury to go to the parks early, ride everything you can, come back & relax, then return for after dinner.

I'm logging on so I can stay tuned to your great trip!

Thanks! Welcome, estherhead.

Thanks, Snowy-girls. We felt like this was the perfect time in our lives for a Disney trip...son is old enough to try the thrill rides, but not too old to be seen hanging around with his parents! Oh, and the pancakes were awesome! :thumbsup2

Awesome, cannot wait to hear all about it! We are going back to Boma in 3 weeks!

Oooh, I hope you do another live report! Your last report was terrific!

LOL, Virtual Vacation! I love it! Welcome aboard.

Great TR ALan (er Clark).... LOVE all the pics. Can't wait for more...

Thanks! You know Clark has to take his photos! Now where did I put that picture of the world's 2nd largest ball of twine? :rotfl2:

I think CSR is awesome, and the moderate fits our vacation philosophy. We have friends who enjoy the values because they spend a lot of time in the parks. Others enjoy the luxuries, but we fall about right in the middle.

Great report, feels like I'm right there with ya!:thumbsup2

Thanks, TigerKat. Welcome!

Thanks, 2Xcited! The kids actually loved Pal Mickey. We put him on a lanyard and let them take turns carry him around their neck. Since DD8 didn't ride as many things as DS11, she enjoyed playing with Pal Mickey while the boys rode rides.

Thanks, Cory's Gal. Wait until you read about ALL of the things this 11-year old ate! We are either raising him to be cultured, or spoiled!

Thanks for the smiles this morning and a few tears-missing WDW:cool2:

Keep smiling! Even though I've just gotten back, I am already dreaming of our next trip!

Great pictures.

What a great idea to take the bus home from Epcot!

Yeah, that worked out well. It was almost TOO late, though. The bus we caught at Epcot was one of the last ones of the day and it ended up going taking all passengers to their respective destinations. Fortunately, everyone was going to either CSR or All-Star. CSR was the first stop, so it worked out perfectly. I figured it was good Karma from the hours lost in traffic in Atlanta!

This is a great first trip review Please keep it comming.

Thanks, BONITATIME. There's plenty of posts left to come!

More later.

Great trip report! Your family looks like they are having the time of their lives :goodvibes I remember how much fun it was taking my kids to DL when they were younger (we are in Northern CA so DL is much more do-able for us). Now they are 24, 22, and 17. I want to take the 17 year old after he graduates next year for a graduation trip, and maybe one of the other boys can come with us.

Can't wait to read more!
