Team Renfroe - Pre-Trip Report for May 15-22, 2009 **Final Chapter**

Alan, your ADRs look amazing. I wish you lots of luck in getting everything you need. For your Raglan Road reservation, did you know you can go to opentable.com and make the reservation on there. I did that for our May trip but then we decided to go somewhere else, but it was super easy and they give you a confirmation email and everything. One less you have to do with Disney. :thumbsup2

Hi Alan! I just found your report and look forward to reading through it all. First I'm going to head over to your old report to read that one, and I'll be sure to head back over here when I'm done. Have a good weekend!

Alan check out my PTR I had Jo post a pix on it just for YOU!!! It looks as delish as I remember from my Mum making it!!!

I'm glad you have Ohana on your list. We had it on ours in 2005, 2007 and cancelled it on both those trips because the menu just seemed kind of narrow when compared to Kona. However, this last trip when we had free dining, it seemed like the perfect time to try it--we thought, "hey, it's free and if we hate it, no sweat". It was our hands down favorite meal of the trip. Now our table location was nothing special, but we had the nicest waiter, the food was all cooked perfectly--the steak was the best grilled steak I've had in ages and all the dishes were just great. We will not make the mistake of skipping Ohana in the future. Enjoy!

I honestly think that we will LOVE Ohana! I wanted to have a dinner at Ohana on our last trip, but we could not get an ADR. We went there for breakfast one morning and had a great experience! The bread was just terrific! I have been looking at the dinner menu and I think our entire family will really enjoy the experience. Thanks for the comments!

Alan Iam goin to Raglan Road again in May !! I wantto try the It's not bleeding chowder ! I hav seen pix of it and it looks delish !! Also this time want to try the Baileys cheese cake ! I loved the Ger's bread puding but it is VERY filling so this time I ant to try the cheese cake !! Iam almost set with plan but when those May hours come out things could change !I am alsotrying Y&Y based on your reviews ! The moreI look at it Tepon Edo is another for me !! Dsil wants to try that in Sept so Ithoiught I'd do the cecking out !!

We are excited about trying Raglan Road on this trip also! I love the Irish bar restaurant concept....and I've never been to an Irish bar I didn't like! (Maybe that is just the Irish in me.) I think their menu if very diverse and our children should have no trouble finding something they will like. ALso, I intend to have a few pints of ye 'ol Irish brew while I'm there!

wowza:scared1: I'm always amazed by the dining schedule of those on the deluxe plan. But of course, I wouldn't mind the challenge.::yes:: I've heard some good things about The Wave. Can't wait to see all your reviews.

Hi pmama! :wave2: We are excited about being on the Deluxe Dining plan once again, and we intend to make the best of it! I have heard some great things about The Wave as well, and it will be one of our most anticipated lunch experiences on our upcoming trip.

By the way, we LOVED your last trip report! Great job!

:) :cool1: Alan May Hours are up !!!!:cool1: :thumbsup2 :) :cool1: :thumbsup2

I saw that! I've been a few days behind, but we are making plans based on the hours that are now posted.

Alan we will have to meet at the Cantina to have a drink, or two, or three.

I kid I kid! But definitely a drink :)

Hi Kara! :wave2: I am thinking a drink at the poolside bar, Siestas, would be perfect! What do you think?

Alan

Hey Alan! I'm a little behind -- but congrats on the upgrade. That's a good deal and, if you can get a bigger room, why not?

Great selections of ADRs! I forgot - are you getting the deluxe DDP this time?

I'm so glad to hear you're trying the Wave. I'll be looking forward to your food porn from that one. It looks interesting. And Raglan Road? You WILL NOT be disappointed! Aaah - the atmosphere, the beer, the bread pudding -- :cloud9: I really wanted to eat there in Feb., but since it's Lauren's birthday trip, I've let her pick the restaurants and her choice in DTD is Fulton's -- again! I guess there's no harm in repeating restaurants, right? We like what we like!:goodvibes

Hi Cammie! :wave2: Yes, we are going with the Deluxe Dining Plan again this year! (After last year's experience, we just couldn't resist! You know we love our food porn!)

I am SOOOO looking forward to Raglan Road! I think it will be one of my favorite places, since I am both a beer lover and an Anglofile of sorts.

Best of luck to you and Lauren on your upcoming Mother/Daughter trip. Can't wait to read all about it!

Your ADR's and park plans look great! Of course we are eating at a lot of the same places but looks like it will be different days. I will know more when the hours and EMH come out and then let you know. Too bad we aren't staying at CSR, then our girls would have a friend to swim with. I'm sure they woukld get along great! May 22nd departure day :sad2:

Hi Kaysmommie! We are still debating our itinerary, and we may very well be at Epcot on the 18th. If so, we'll have to meet up for a drink or something!

We are pretty sure that we'll be at Epcot on May 21st, so if nothing else maybe we can meet somewhere in the World Showcase? Just let us know!

Alan

Thanks! I did not know that about Raglan Road reservations...I will definitely check that out and see if I can go ahead and secure those reservations. THANKS! You're right....that would be one less ressie we would have to worry about!

Hope all is going well with your planning for your upcoming trip!

Hi Alan
I am re-reading your May 08 TR-getting ready to make those ADRs and your reviews were great! I decided to go with Yak and Yeti instead of Holly/Vine. I am also scared/freaked out by mimes and clowns. Sorry you will not be at POP but hopefully we will run into you at some point. My older DD is not a fan of "kid food" She is pretty daring with food as long as it is not meat....Does love her some shrimp. Your TR is really one of the best I have read and the pics are awesome!!

Oh YUM! Look at all those ADR's! You have some excellent choices there. Cali Grill and Kona are two that I'm looking forward to in the future. I can't believe you're only 15 days away from making them! Time really flies! :goodvibes

Alan your plans look awesome! I drastically changed a few of mine to some that I was not so interested in but Aaron and Josh wanted. Can you believe the nerve of those two thinking they had a say in my vacation planning!:rotfl2:
I did sneak in 2 princess meals to make up for it though.:lmao:

We are thinking of driving down for my birthday on the 23rd so if you or Rosie are at the park that I choose we will have to have a glass of wine or slushie or yeah it doesn't really matter as long as there is booze right? LOL!

Anyway my pics for June are on my ptr when you have a minute tell me what you think.

Hi MaryAz! :wave2: GREAT CALL on the Yak & Yeti vs. H&V.

Glad to know someone else gets freaked out about clowns and mimes. Ggghh! Get away, get away!

What is your tentative itinerary? Maybe we can meet up at the parks.

Thanks VERY MUCH for you kind words about our trip report last year! I really had a great time putting it together, and it was a great way to relive our wonderful memories!

Hi Jess! We have been to both Cali Grill and Kona...and WE LOVED THEM! If I could only return to one restaurant at WDW, it would be Cali Grill, followed closely by Le Cellier and Kona. I am keeping my fingers crossed that we can get the ADRs we want. Our 90-day date is only 6 days from now! Wish us luck!

Hi Alan Yes I sure hopewe can meet up!!!

Hi Rosie! :wave2: We are going to rearrange some of our plans in order to try to meet you at Epcot on May 17th? Let me know what you think!

Hi Michelle! :wave2: gosh, we've missed you! What is up with those boys thinking they have ANY say so in your vacation planning? :lmao: :rotfl2:

Good for you for getting a couple of princess meals in on them!

We will miss you if you're driving in on the 23rd. We leave on the 22nd. Otherwise, our family would love to meet you and Aaron. (yes, I'm sure booze would be involved!! LOL!)

I'll check out the PTR and leave a comment on that thread. Talk to you soon!

Alan

Alan your plans look good. Is the 16th SWW also though? We were there last year for SWW sat and it was not pretty. I'm not sure what date it starts on though.
Anyway everything does look great and I know you guys will have an awesome time!

Hi Alan and Renfroes! Loved your trip report last year and really enjoying your pre trip report also. Sounds like you have a lot of awesome plans!
We will be there also in May from the 13th until 6/1.
What time is the Sunday Boma meet scheduled?
Looking forward to hearing about your adr's!!

I cannot believe you are 5 days away from your ADR window opening!! Where did the time go?? I am so looking forward to another Team Renfroe trip. All of your plans look terrific!!

Ala am definately in for a met on the17th!! I also wantto do Boma for a Breakfast! So either or both are fine by me I posted on Karas thread also that the 17th would be good !! I am just about ready for my final ADRs ,man have they changed over the months !!! Let me know !!!

Alan, looks like we will not be anywhere at the same time-hard to believe! My schedule is all dependent on ADRs of course. As soon as we both get those set we can see if there is a time. I may move Epcot to Sun since we are hopefully eating there for dinner. Hmmm

Hi Alan,

I have just been catching up on your pre trip..you all have been busy!! Your plans look great. How do you eat all of that food!?!

You were in the world last year the same time correct? How were the crowds.? Three out of our seven days post a 9 on the crowd-o-meter. I wasn't expecting that. Should I be worried? Not that we are changing our plans.

Any one else who has been there the week before Memorial day I would appreciate any input.

Happy planning!!

Hi Alan! I think the 17th meet sounds good!!:thumbsup2   I'll let you know soon....:goodvibes
