Man, I swore I posted something...
Mel: Girl Scout cookies? I'm in for some pre-orders. I'll send you a message on FB. You're definitely a perfect princess. Not Disney just needs to make a film with one who wears leopard print shorts. Maybe a tutu. At least wear one for your 50th by 50 race. (You're too cool!)
Jackie: MCM. DOOD has mentioned wanting to do it again, but I'm not sure it fits with our work schedules this year. 2011 is the year of travel. I will mark my calendar for Feb. 23, though, and see what he says. (Look at how I just invite myself along.) I'm so happy to hear you're moving again because I know it makes you happy. So is DH, I'm sure.
Delaney: Back to back marathons! I'm impressed by that, and by the fact someone just offered you up her bib like that. Very generous. I hadn't noticed the date/time stuff being out of whack. I try to avoid pictures of me whenever possible. You don't seem like the same kind of shy wallflower, though.
Kathy: I know what you mean about the challenge in balancing FT work, training and other life obligations. The half is definitely a happ(ier) distance for such things. That's why DOOD and I do Goofy every other year. And I don't have kids! Speaking of kids, I'm so glad you're enjoying your new job!
Rose:
for working on getting the electrolytes/salt intake balanced on LRs and LR days. I tend to get really salty-sweaty too. My cats love it. Me, I find myself eating pretzels as part of my post-LR meal.
No, I'm not doing the Princess. And I won't be there this year to scream team. *Sigh* They changed the date of the race & it doesn't match our spring break. Not that I didn't make an argument for me traveling without DOOD the week before our spring-break trip to WDW.
JenB: I'm glad to hear your dental implant went well, or as well as could be hoped for. How was your recovery 5 miler!?I don't know much about the National Half or Marathon. Intense?
Richard: Be careful with your calorie consumption. One, I'd had to see you waste away to practically nothing; you just don't have the tentacles to pull that off. Two, I just want your training to go smoothly. Me, I'll be having the opposite problem thank you. 20 pounds to go, which is 10 more than last year.
Julie: I find it hard to get into a running schedule during the winter. And knowing how hard you've been hit...Wow. Do you use the TM at all? I can't remember, but don't think so.
Corinna: How is "Art" coming along? You know they rely on you because you're dependable AND talented, right? Did your former priest get certified; I'm certainly impressed with her, video unseen! And are you doing the Hypothermic Half?
AFM: This is a cross-post from Leanies....Sorry!
Okay, lots of things. First, I lost 3 pounds last week and am weighing in on Fridays. I'm going for slow and steady, with no pressure on myself to cut out bunches of thing. I'll be happy to lose 20-25 pounds total over the course of a year. That should be very do-able. Then again, I said that last year.
Still doing the 100 days challenge. Ran 8 miles this weekend on the TM. Not an ice run/walk/shuffle/stumble fan.
DOOD & I sat down to plan our 2011 travel for the year - maybe a first for us. Lots of trips planned, including ones to WDW and DLR. The bad news is, that means no month-long trip to WDW for me in 2011. DOOD was a little upset when I told him I hadn't envisioned him coming with me, at least not for the entire time. But he wants to, and that complicates everything. Not the least of which is cat care.
Anyway, so the month-long trip is off the table this year. But that's okay. I'll be at WDW for the 40th anniversary and DLR for
D23 Expo. We're also headed to Seattle (first time) and Stratford. And family trips. And races.
As for races, we discussed it as training for stuff is such a crunch. His job is no longer stable hour-wise. More on that later. But he's in for Goofy 2012, so that means I'm in for
Goofy 2012. What's good for the gander...
And we'll try to work something out for either the
RnR Philly Half or the
Hershey Half in the fall, among possible others. Right now, he can run a half without training, and I'm going to keep my LRs at a 6-8-10 rotation while I focus on weight loss. Then, if a local half comes up we can jump in if the schedule permits. Meanwhile, I hope to get stronger/faster/happier or any mix of the three.
