Team Miles Game Sign-ups

Sign me up too!

But I also am a low mileage person during the Michigan winter months.

As I estimate I am currently averaging walking about 1000 feet a week going from my house to the car, from my car to my office building elevators, and from diverse parking lots to gyms and swimming pools for multiple childrens' sporting events/practices, I am willing to pass on this this year and just annoy all the teams.

Then again, I do have grand plans and I might just be a diamond in the rough. Given my finicky back and hips though, some caution may be warranted prior to signing me to a long term contract.

Insure that all team members adhere to the dress code when they post.

Now wait just a cottonpickin minute - you never mentioned no rules before I signed up!!

:rotfl2:

Eva after your post from the Half, we'd all be honored to have you on our team!! You are full of the right stuff!! (and I speak y'all too - family from Texas - I still remember my cousin coming home from kdg or 1st grade ' "momma didya know y'all was TWO Words?!!" :rotfl2: )

Eva, of course we want you with us. The whole idea is to have an extra spark to help us get our backfields in motion. Hey y'all is formal english around here.

Thanks ya'll. Cute story, Sandy. We had a neighbor friend one time wonder why there was no "R" in the word "warsh." (Translated wash for you northerners.) :lmao:

What I'm wondrin' though is.... do you put an "all" with your "ya'll" like we do. You know ..... Did all ya'll get your miles in today?

Okay.... i think I need a nap. :rotfl:

MiniGirl asked:

Here in the Panhandle of Texas, we never say all y'all :snooty: the words we use are " alla y'all". Example: Alla Y'all wanna come n eat?

Dearest Panda, Please sign me up on a team. I promise to be properly attired at all meetings. And I would even be on Bill's team. This does work like mini golf right, low score wins??

I'm in - right now my milage is pretty low but after the end of February my milage will pick up to around 15-20 a week. I promise to adhere to the dress code (but only when others can see - :lmao: )

Thanks :hippie: Panda - I know we ALL need the motivation!!!

Okay--I've got no clue what the heck you ladies are talking about.

Are you seriously telling me that "y'all" can be conjagated, including the plural "alla y'all." People, the Civil War was not fought for nothing. You are all in the United States of America. Lets please speak/type Spanish or something we can all understand.

Do I hear a hint of RedNeck envy?

I'll talk big city Conn Lawyer for ya. "Mr Bill, are you any relation to the squashed cat from Bloom County"? "Just so we can put this in proper perspective, DO YOU WANT IN OR NOT?" "Thank you the defence rests."

Bill, please dont tell my Great Aunts this travisty was just a minor setback from what I understand from them!!!

:rotfl2:

I kin it to something like the "Smurfs" (and surely since the Smurfs are celebrating their 50th bday, you KNOW the SMURFS!!!)

Y'all is perfectly grammatically correct down this way. But I have cousins that say you'uns...never understood that one ;)

BTW, sign me up, Dave!

**Perry Panda** After such a gruelling cross examination: "I confess. I do want in. I could have gotten away with the vaguaries too if it wasn't for those meddling kids and that dog (oh, sorry that part was a different TV show)."

**Sandy** Yes, the Smurfs were/are quite the group. Poppa Smurf did a wonderful job keeping them all in line. And no wonder they were blue. it must be tough having all those male Smurfs and only one female Smurf.

Mel -- omg! I was just going to post about you'uns! My parents originate from the bootheel of Missouri, and that's proper English! Of course, these people also say "Mizzourah" and "Sant Louis", so clearly they are not from the civilized part of the state, where "hoosier" is a big insult...:rotfl: :rotfl2:

When I first spoke to my FIL (who lives in NH) on the phone, I barely understood a word he said. He had quite the wicked New England accent. I also learned wicked is an adjective or adverb when we moved to Boston....every region has it's little quirks to make it interesting!:thumbsup2

Youze guyz are funny (I'm from Philly).

Count me in! :cool1: I'll be low mileage to start, but slow and steady wins the race and all that. You can count my husband in as well, he'll be doing the half with me next year.

Another low miler here, but I'm in too!

Although I hail from Md., y'all is part of my vocabulary too. It IS south of the Mason Dixon line, you know!

We currently have 29 WISH Warriors signed up. I would like to start the game on Feb 1st so we have about another week to take sign-ups. Right now, if no one else wants in we would have 3 teams with one team short till someone else signed on.

I need a captain for each team: Who wants to volunteer to be the captain and start the thier teams thread? Each team will decide on a team name also.

Hi! I'm new here. I'd like to join you all (if I were from North Jersey, I would need to say "yous all" I think). I need some motivation and accountability to get off my bottom and start moving. I'm on a plan for the half for the first weekend of May (or the Minnie!), so my mileage is not amazing. Okay, so far, I also have only walked from the car to the house lately.

But TODAY it's going to change. I'm going to the gym closest to my house and I'm going to join so I can use their treadmill. If my house had more room, we would so have one in the house, but it's not an option right now.

I think to start my mileage is supposed to be around 13 miles a week, and then it builds (obviously).

I'm so excited to join the WISH team! Woohoo!

Thanks for having me. I'm not going to let you down. I hope.
