QOTD: Sunday: OK, so I apologize to those NY Giants fans out there ahead of time! I am a HUGE PATRIOTS fan, particularly WES WELKER! Whether you are watching the SUPER BOWL or not, come up with a healthy treat that would be great to eat during the SUPER BOWL next Sunday evening! Please share the treat and or recipe with us and who you are rooting for! I promise not to hold it against you!![]()
This SuperBowl is *epic* for me! The Giants and Patriots are my two favorite teams, so I just can't lose, and I'm planning on enjoying it all. The SuperBowl is the one party we host every year (we live in a townhouse and just don't have much room for entertaining), so I've been menu planning. There will be a lot of dips and the like, and we'll order in pizzas and have some mini-apps and bite-sized desserts. I'm not trying especially hard to make anything healthier than it already is, but I'm planning to exercise some serious portion control at the party by making my plate, knowing its points, and leaving my food intake at that. Once I've hard my cider or hard lemonade, I'll switch to Diet Coke for my beverage, and any other munchies will have to come from the veggie tray without dips.

It helps to host on a night like this, because I just won't have time to eat as much! Right??

Today was fun - sang two services at our church this morning, lunch with the family at California Tortilla, and then I got to go out by myself and cross another movie off my Oscars list. I've seen all 9 Best Picture nominees now, all but one for Best Actor, all but one for Best Actress, all of the Best Supporting Actress, all but two of the Best Supporting Actor, and all of the Best Director nominees. I love this time of year!

The girls have no school tomorrow but will luckily be covered by our day care center. DH and I are visiting our local public school tomorrow after lunch to meet with the friend of a friend who teaches there and loves it enough to have her own kids go there, in contrast to what we've always heard about the school. We're really hoping this turns our opinions around, as we want to ramp down the tuition we're paying. It's been well worth it, with tiny classes and great attention to the individual, but we always planned to transition to public school...there are so many factors on the table right now that it makes my head spin, and I'm trying not to eat my way through the stress. I didn't think I'd be this worried about schools until college!
