Team Mickey - Biggest Loser "No Excuses" 2012 Challenge

QOTD: Sunday: OK, so I apologize to those NY Giants fans out there ahead of time! I am a HUGE PATRIOTS fan, particularly WES WELKER! Whether you are watching the SUPER BOWL or not, come up with a healthy treat that would be great to eat during the SUPER BOWL next Sunday evening! Please share the treat and or recipe with us and who you are rooting for! I promise not to hold it against you!

This SuperBowl is *epic* for me! The Giants and Patriots are my two favorite teams, so I just can't lose, and I'm planning on enjoying it all. The SuperBowl is the one party we host every year (we live in a townhouse and just don't have much room for entertaining), so I've been menu planning. There will be a lot of dips and the like, and we'll order in pizzas and have some mini-apps and bite-sized desserts. I'm not trying especially hard to make anything healthier than it already is, but I'm planning to exercise some serious portion control at the party by making my plate, knowing its points, and leaving my food intake at that. Once I've hard my cider or hard lemonade, I'll switch to Diet Coke for my beverage, and any other munchies will have to come from the veggie tray without dips. :)

It helps to host on a night like this, because I just won't have time to eat as much! Right?? :rotfl:

Today was fun - sang two services at our church this morning, lunch with the family at California Tortilla, and then I got to go out by myself and cross another movie off my Oscars list. I've seen all 9 Best Picture nominees now, all but one for Best Actor, all but one for Best Actress, all of the Best Supporting Actress, all but two of the Best Supporting Actor, and all of the Best Director nominees. I love this time of year! :)

The girls have no school tomorrow but will luckily be covered by our day care center. DH and I are visiting our local public school tomorrow after lunch to meet with the friend of a friend who teaches there and loves it enough to have her own kids go there, in contrast to what we've always heard about the school. We're really hoping this turns our opinions around, as we want to ramp down the tuition we're paying. It's been well worth it, with tiny classes and great attention to the individual, but we always planned to transition to public school...there are so many factors on the table right now that it makes my head spin, and I'm trying not to eat my way through the stress. I didn't think I'd be this worried about schools until college! :P

Evening ::MickeyMo

I'll catch up on the post later. I wanted to let everyone know how my weekend went.

Long story short I had a widow friend and her fiance come spend the weekend with me at Disney. Well, in the whopping 3 days she was there I only saw her LITERALLY 5 hours. Friday, the 4 year anniversary of my husband and daughter's death I only saw her an HOUR and all she said about the subject was, "Oh how are you doing?". Then she up and leaves a day early and I find out through a text?!?! Yeah so needless to say I deleted her out of my phone and blocked her email. To say I'm hurt is an understatement, I'm p*ssed! The only reason she came out was so she can spend time with her fiance and totally avoid me. I basically got used.

Irregardless of that nightmare I still enjoyed my time with Alan. However, I will NEVER stay at Pop Century or any value resort ever again. Now, I understand people stay where they can afford. I only stayed there because I got an awesome rate with my AP. However, with that being said: The beds were rock hard (pillows weren't any better). I woke up with my whole body hurting. There was no coffee pot in the room (Alan's gripe, not mine. I don't drink it). We had no cell phone signal in our room. We were suppose to stay tonight but we are both in so much pain from the beds we checked out early.

The plus sides: The atmosphere and food court were awesome! I liked having the resort on its own bus with no other resort.

My best friend and I are staying at CSR in May for a week. I'm hoping I like it a lot better. I've read a lot of good reviews on the Disboards about it. I told Alan if we ever pay for a room again at Disney more then likely it'll be a moderate (if I find one I like). If not then we'll only stay with our DVC points (when we have them).

Friday, we got to MK first thing in the morning and rode most of the rides we wanted to. We found a good spot for the 3pm parade and then aftewards did some shopping. I bought my first Dooney and Burke purse and I LOVE it! I told Alan it was my "cheer myself up" present considering what the day was.

I hope everyone had an awesome weekend. I can't wait to get on the scale tomorrow and see what type of damage I did .

Morning Fellow Losers-

QOTD: Going to have a random one and one food one!
What is your favorite tv show? What is the best movie you have seen lately?
What's on your meal plan for the day?

QOTD: I have two favorite shows at the moment: Big Bang Theory and Downton Abbey (Glee is a close third) I stayed up late to watch Downton Abbey as Brian got paged at the end of the SAG Awards! It had me laughing and crying and sympathizing for these characters! Big Bang is just too darn funny!
My food today will be a shake for breakfast and lunch. I will be home all day as Ash has a bad cold and sore throat so I'm letting her stay home. I'm putting a pork in the crock pot for pulled pork for supper tonight and tomorrow night. It's an easy meal for crazy nights. I usually put mine in a rollup with a bit of cheese. It's a quick and easy recipe. I am still going to do my carpool this morning and run to the Wellness Center and the grocery store as we used up our last onions for our steak shish kabobs last night. It's a recipe I found on line. I'm using the crock pot all week. A chicken dish later in the week as well as clam chowder for Friday! To be able to throw stuff in in the morning and not worry about it the rest of the day works for me!

I forgot to answer the rest of my question.

I loved Hugo and The Muppets and of course Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 which I am watching right now with Ash who is home sick today!

I'm right there with you on Big Bang Theory and Downton Abbey - talk about two different arenas! :) Favorite recent movie is a hard one - it's Oscar season, and I make a serious hobby out of trying to see as many of the nominated films (all categories) as possible! I think The Artist is my favorite of the mix, although I loved The Descendants and The Help...and Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close, even though it made me cry a lot.

Today's meal plan is:

Breakfast (done): My cereal breakfast, which is 1/2 cup Cheerios, 1/3 cup Uncle Sam Original, 1/2 cup blueberries, 1 sliced banana, and 1/4 cup milk.

Lunch: One of my Healthy Choice Cafe Steamers. It's chilly today, and I want something hot!

Dinner: One of our last Let's Dish meals! (I'm going again on Thursday.) This one is cider-braised chicken and mashed potatoes. The whole serving of both is 8 points, but I'll probably take a half-portion of the mashed potatoes. I'm also going to roast an acorn squash for the vegetable.

Evening snack: 1 VitaTop, a cup of berries with Splenda, and a 3-ounce glass of wine.

And I've already exercised! :)

My favorite tv show at the moment is Big Bang Theory, I only started watching it a couple of months ago and I've become obsessed! Sooo funny!! I haven't gone to the movies in several months except for taking my boys to see Beauty and the Beast 3D so I'll go with an old but new to me from cable: Fireproof. Really good movie and gave me a new appreciation of my marriage. Breakfast was my trusty granola bar, lunch will be Healthy Choice Chicken Margherita(yum!) and dinner will be lasagna, niblet corn and garlic bread with a snack/dessert of either a chocolate chip cookie or another granola bar(I love them). I need to take a break day today and give my muscles rest as it has been a week since I had one. I had a good weekend though, ran 1 1/2 miles and walked the last 1/2 mile on friday and saturday and did an hour long weight training P90X dvd yesterday and stayed on plan. Good luck everyone! Hope you have a great week!!:flower3:

AOTD:
Hard to pick a FAVORITE tv show, but I LOVE Criminal Minds and Bones. If you had asked a few years ago, I could not miss Buffy the Vampire Slayer when it was on - still love watching reruns!
Best movie lately? Finally saw Bridesmaids! I laughed so hard my face hurt, but also felt sad for the main character as I knew how she felt being replaced.
Meal plan for the day? An apple and orange juice for breakfast, my coke midmorning(that is my coffee), lunch is leftover taco meat (hamburger and ground turkey mix) with some cheese, lettuce and unsalted tortilla chips and a bannana. Dinner out with some friends, so I already checked out the menu. I will get the chicken sandwich without the bun and some yukon gold potatoes. Yum!

I am down this week, so I am hoping to keep up the momentum and the biggest hurdle is my eating habits.

Monday - Castle
Tuesday - Biggest Loser
Friday - Grimm

Whenever - Bruins Hockey
Whenever - Flashpoint

New shows - Alcatraz, Touch, and I think there was one more but I can't remember. I'll have to check TIVO later.

I don't watch stuff live anymore except for Hockey. We have 2 TIVO's running all the time here.

ETA: Best movie I've seen lately....... The Eagle with Channing Tatum was pretty good. DH and DS15 said I need to see The Adjustment Bureau with Matt Damon. We have very eclectic taste in movies so we tend to watch some pretty random stuff.

Meal plan:
I just had tea, raisin oatmeal and a chobani.
Lunch will be light or nonexistent since breakfast was late.
Dinner is shepard's pie and probably a salad.

happy monday morning :goodvibes

i was mostly absent last week, ugh, then the guilt of 'wasting time'...my vicious cycle. so far i had gone for 8 midnight blood draws in a row and it definately takes its toll on me. i did not exercise one time last week or journal. the week just sailed right by :boat: i even missed my WI! ugh!

so today i've already started my food journal so i'm prepared for QOTD:

QOTD: Going to have a random one and one food one!
What is your favorite tv show? What is the best movie you have seen lately?
What's on your meal plan for the day?

Brekkie: balance bar
Lunch: leftover sloppy joe and salad
Dinner: ravioli with tomato alfredo sauce but NO garlic bread

dinner is a little more than usual, i went to farmer's market last week and bought homemade ravioli from a place that makes really great ravioli, unique flavors. i bought goat cheese and spinach and feta. small portion though ::yes::

fav show? that's hard...we are definately BBT fans here, i  Leonard. we have all the seasons on DVD and watch them over and over and over....if you are ever in LA I would heartily recommmend the Warner Bros studio tour, it was really fun to see where they shoot and a ride through the prop house. We didn't get to go inside the studio for BBT but they were there rehearsing, i got a picture of their cars parked outside the bldg...lol. if only i could've gotten inside and got a pic of myself on Sheldon's spot, that would've been my chirstmas card photo! I have pictures of the outdoor lot too and it's fun to see on the episodes locations that i saw in person. my other fav show (also shot at WB actually) is The Mentalist, i  Jane. I asked the tour guide if she'd met him and she hadn't but said he rides his bike all over the grounds. She was very fond of Robin Tunney (Lisbon)

movie -- don't have one really, several on my list i wanted to see. DH and I just went and saw One for the Money yesterday, it was fun but the books are very hard to live up too. IMO Morelli was too old and Ranger wasn't hot enough :teeth:

She came back and said "Daddy says they are nice glasses and he would probably use them." So I told her to go back and tell him that is fine if he wants to keep them but HE has to find somewhere to put them. She came back and said "Daddy says that he really doesn't like these and we should get rid of them!" I have a box of stuff to freecycle/donate.

:lmao:

Yeah sorry-- not a football fan at all. I actually have a sort of vendetta this year more so than others for reasons I can't disclose. I envy the food though--other than the wings football food is right up my alley.

Just had a thin bagel with hummus--added sun dried tomatoes, cranberry juice diluted, and coffee.
For lunch probably an apple and a v-8.
Dinner will be some chicken sausages they were sampling at Costco, with chilli.
Favorite movie I've seen lately? I've been catching up on Oscars too but will be honest-- saw Diary of the Dead a couple of nights ago and loved it. We're big zombie junkies. I will be really sad when Romero stops making movies. As far as movies go this year-- I really liked Super 8 and Rise of the Planet of the Apes.

tv--2 1/2 men, Mike and Molly, Parenthood, biggest loser, The Middle, Parks and Rec, 30 rock, Big bang theory, Modern Family (probably my favorite right now) Grimm. We really like Grimm-- I hope it makes it. We like seeing Portland.
I've been addicted to storage wars and the other 2 similar shows. Been trying to stay away from the food shows but love Rachel Ray. Always fascinated with House Hunters lol. I've watched The View since Whoopi came on.

Od'd on cashews and almonds last night dang it.

That's why I'm afraid to see it! ;) Plus, I like the Ranger in my mind!

QOTD: Well, as some of you know, our TV only gets sports channels. It's tough being a girl in an all male house. :headache: But I do like house hunters, international better than original, and I love Big Bang Theory when I get a chance to see it. If I'm not working I watch the first 15 minutes of Live with Kelly. I used to like PBS's GlobeTrekker but it's so often reruns now. Rarely go to the movies. Something my girlfriend and I were talking about on our walk this morning. One day when the kids are gone and DH and I are bored out of our minds because we're not running around to their activities, I want to start going again. There's a cool theatre that runs great little films and another place has a series of older films during the winter. One day. popcorn::

DS1 made cookies yesterday and I must admit I had a ton. They were just delish! I could bemoan the calories, but I'm glad I got a run in so at least a teeny part of those calories burned went to the cookies! My run was good and my knee is feeling all right. Not great--I can feel it, but it's not painful. Still icing about once a day.

No big plans today. There's no school and it being the end of the month no money for any adventures! I do sub tomorrow and DSs have basketball games. It's also my monthly night out with the girls, but will have to miss it. :sad1:

Think I'll go check Gretchen's blog and see how things are in WDW. Eager to hear from our weekend runners!

Don't forget to drink your water and eat your veggies, Mickeys!

Hey ::MickeyMo

I didn't go to bed til 2am and I was out as soon as my head hit the pillow. I woke up and Alan made me some breakfast. I talked to a few of my friends about the situation that happened this weekend. I'm still upset by it and have decided to end the friendship. I'm sorry but don't tell me your going to be there for me & then totally blow me off. Sorry, but that's not a friend to me. Its upsetting that even a fellow widow would do something like that to me.

Plans for the day: I need to get the pantry inventoried and start making meal plan for the month of February. I'm starting this process today because it can be very time consuming. I also need to get a short 45 minute workout in so that I can hit my 1,200 minutes of fitness for the month. I also need to get my water consumption started.

My fitness plan for the month has already been started. I've decided I'm going to change things up a little each month. I still am doing my BL kinect program that is 12 weeks long. I'm also going to start 30 Day Shred on February 1st. I start this DVD but never seem to do it for a full 30 days. That is one of my goals for February. Speaking of goals I also need to start thinking of goals for February. I may get that list taken care of today as well.

My scale said I was up 4 pounds but I don't know if I believe it. I'll get back on routine this week and see what it says on Friday. Sometimes my scale screws with my head after being at Disney for a few days . I also need to get the pedometer plugged into the desktop and get the information downloaded into the program.

so, I was wondering why it was so quiet in here and then I realize I somehow UN-subscribed from the thread:headache: No wonder it was quiet.. so dumb sometimes, and not even sure how or when I did that! Must have been from my phone!

Anywho..not much weight loss this week, but, im back on track and feeling a bit better emotionally! Hope everyone is having good weight loss and healthy habits!

QOTD: Going to have a random one and one food one!

My favorite paid channel show or regular tv? I love Dexter and Castle, although my DBF and I find ourselves dying for Sundays to roll around for Once Upon A Time now!! LOVE LOVE LOVE That show!

Best movie I have seen lately is The Muppets of course!!

My meal plan was no plan lol. I never have a real plan other than to stay within my calories. I had my usual breakfast of coffee and oatmeal, then a special k snack bar... no lunch but totally hit EVERY sample at costco! Not a great food choice, but my BDF insists the calories were not nearly as bad as Im thinking they are. He is cooking dinner tonight, so not sure what that is yet :/

Hi Mickeys!

I've been trying to pop in all day, but this is the first time the webpage loaded. I even got a "Try again later." message. :scared1:

Today has been a good day. I've stayed OP and dinner should be OP. I exercised for about 25 minutes. I did 2 miles of the 5-mile WATP. They are 12 min. miles, so good exercise. I am hoping to do 3 miles tomorrow.

It is about time to eat, so I must go. I will try to come back later and catch up on Healthy Habits PMs.

Morning Fellow Losers-

QOTD: Going to have a random one and one food one!
What is your favorite tv show? What is the best movie you have seen lately?
What's on your meal plan for the day?

I don't really have a favorite TV show. The only thing that I would be bummed to miss is Amazing Race I guess. I don't watch any scripted TV anymore and haven't for quite a while. I watch a lot of Food Network, Nat Geo, History and a few other channels with "reality" shows, but not the Real Housewives/Bachelor type of stuff. The only thing I have watched on the major networks in the last 5 years or so is Amazing Race and American Idol.

A strange fact about me --I don't like movies. Really. Haven't seen a movie that I could say I liked since probably The Princess Bride and Muppet Christmas Carol and those are about the only ones. I do like some of the old Musicals. I find most comedy movies boring and predictable. They rarely make me laugh and I don't like drama/action/adventure/thriller and definitely don't do anything scary. I really dislike going to the movie theater because the idea of sitting in one place for 2 hours with nothing else to do (read, computer, knitting etc) bores me to death. I LOVE the Muppets and I was really looking forward to the new movie. We went to see the movie in the theater and I really was disappointed, I didn't enjoy it at all. I sure miss Jim Henson. DH and DD16 love movies and watch them together all the time. DD11 is the one most like me and she is not much of a movie person either.

However having said that-- we spent the day watching Disney movies! DD11 hasn't seen many of them so we watched Beauty and the Beast, Snow White and Peter Pan. I got a lot done during them! I was able to get through a huge stack of newspapers and coupons, go through a bunch of other paperwork, did several loads of laundry and dishes. I can't just sit and stare at a show, I need to be doing something else.

Food today was:
Breakfast: 2 eggs scrambled with mini turkey pepperoni and a piece of Laughing Cow Light Mozzerella/Sundried tomato/Basil flavor cheese and coffee

Snack: 1/2 apple and Peanut Butter

Lunch: 5 Can Soup

Snacks: FF greek yogurt with sf lime jello
Whole Wheat Toast with the rest of the PB from the morning
A handful of popcorn-- I made it for the kids and was going to have some but it was so awful that it wasn't worth the calories/carbs! DH has me spoiled with his amazing delicious movie theater style popcorn

Dinner: ? Not sure at this point. Family is eating now but I am not hungry. Supposed to have Ham Steak and a salad but it will depend on what I am in the mood for when/if I get hungry.

I need to figure out our dinner for tomorrow. DH isn't home to cook so I have to figure out something I can cook and that will keep until he gets home.

Kids were out of school today and we just vegged. I think they enjoyed just being able to lie around with no homework to worry about. Exams were last week so they had nothing to do and a 4 day weekend. I haven't been able to work out because I refuse to do it with anyone watching so hopefully I will be able to get to it tomorrow. I have a bunch of errands I need to run too.

Disneywedding2010:  Was thinking about you all weekend. I am so sorry that things didn't go well with your friend.

Before the weekly superstar list comes the disclaimer. I am human and I make mistakes. If you have any questions please contact me. For your reference this is the magic percentage of weight lost formula - weight loss for the week divided by weight for last week times 100, that gives us the percentage. Now let me test that with my numbers for week 1, click, click, click goes the calculator. Yes, that agrees with the percentage on the magic spreadsheet. (btw if its been more than 1 week between weigh-ins, then the % loss is divided by the number of weeks, to keep everybody on the same basis)

Now let's get to the good stuff. Who were our superstars of week 4?

The WISH Biggest Loser Spring Challenge Team Mickey Week 4 Superstars!!

Congrats to our BL 6smiles!

Been a totally OFF PLAN day! Just was so tired that I couldn't get motivated! Fell asleep late last night due to Brian getting paged and then he got paged again early this morning. I took a nap on the couch with Ash who was home with a cold.

But tomorrow is a new day! It's hard on Mondays when people are home with me. I just straightened up downstairs so I can get in a workout in the morning. I am also giving at least one massage tomorrow. If time I will do another workout while watching BL tomorrow night. I may do the free step on the Wii and some weights while watching. Gotta drink my water and have my shakes.

I made supervisor with Herbalife last week so I really need to get with it. I want to start some local weight loss challenges and get together a walking group as soon as the weather improves.

QOTD Tuesday- As January comes to a close, I am looking forward to warmer weather so I can walk around my great little town again!
So, what is you favorite form of exercise? DO you like to exercise with others or on your own?

I love my Biggest Loser and Walk Away the Pound workouts. I also enjoy my elliptical despite it being so loud. But my favorite is to walk outside around my neighborhood and to the center of town! I like to walk alone and with others. When alone I listen to my favorite music, lately it's mostly music from Glee, and I walk to the beat so sometimes it's fast and sometimes it's slow! I also enjoy talking with others.

May have a little snow to deal with in the morning.

I need some water!
