Team Mickey - Biggest Loser "No Excuses" 2012 Challenge

Ok, I'm back! Havent been around since last Friday. I just read the post where I was tied for #5 in the weigh in results for last week :cool1:, but I sure wont be this week. I had a big old ZERO lbs weight loss this week!! :scared1:  The dreaded week 2, or in my case, eating healthy and NOT excercising :sad2:

We were out of town last weekend for a family reunion, and lets just say there were NO healthy options around. I did drink water all weekend instead of alcohol though. I got plenty of excercise chasing around my 2 and 3 yr olds up and down stairs, but that has been about the extend of it since we got back. We (DH & I) have both been just exhausted since we came home, so we have taken this past week to just get to bed early each night. We both feel so much better, so I am hoping we will work out tonight.

We have been eating really healthy. I have been doing good at eating breakfast each morning. Still need to get my water intake up ;) Instead of the "bad for us" sweets we would eat almost nightly, now I will eat greek yogurt (love the Strawberry, Strawberry Banana and Blueberry varieties, DH loves the honey). It has seemed to help. Its not something I am doing nightly, just here and there.

Determined to have a better week 3!

It will probably take me a day or 2 to go back through all the posts from the week, but I will sure try and comment where I can.

I love the greek yogurt. A smaller grocery store near me has it on sale for $1 ea right now. I need to stop by and get some more. My kids love it too! Each one is 4 WW points, but it has a lot of protein.:thumbsup2:

Just sent in my weigh-in for the week. I am down another 2.6 pounds. Not too bad. Probably helped that I only ate soup and toast since I wasn't really working out while sick.

Could have also been the 2 million glasses of water I've been drinking or the walking to the bathroom 4 million times a day :lmao:

Either way I am happy with that...didn't expect any loss. So that means I'm down 5 for the year. My goal was 5 pounds a month so I'm really happy with that.

For the QOTD...Friday the 13th doesn't mean much to me. I'm not sure I would have even thought about it without this question...LOL! All I knew for today, was that is was payday :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

Way to go!

LisaH--Thanks! Our next trip isn't until Nov.

For the record I am extremely jealous of anyone with a whole foods or Burgerville......

Good Morning Everyone! Just an quick update from me, and I'll go back and do my replies. So the last 2 days have been a drag. I stayed home today from work with the flu. I've been feeling under the weather for the last 2 days, and this morning I woke up without a voice. :scared1::sick:

I did manage to weight myself this morning and well I stayed the same as last week. At least it wasn't a gain. I also kind of expected it since I really wasn't working out this week. Also I heard from the job I applied and "unfortunately they will not be able to extend an interview" :sad2: I really have to take my certification exams, I think that will up my worth. Hope everyone has a great weekend. :)

Sorry about the job frustration. Ever hear the term feed a cold-- starve a fever? It's hard to lose weight when you're sick-- just get lots of rest, warmth and fluids. I always take the standard C, garlic and echinacea tabs too. I haven't been sick in over a year. Well-- other than 2 nasty uti's. I think it must be all the cranberry juice. :confused3

Down a pound today so I rented moneyball to watch tonight. Gabriel Iglesias was fun, (of fluffy fame) it was a great show. Wore some really cute (and purple) cords that were a little tight when I bought them but thought-- motivation right? Well they fit pretty good last night. :thumbsup2

I like the reward system you have going, there! And congrats on the pants! WOO HOO!!! Gabriel Iglesias is hilarious. My son and his friends have been to see him a couple of times.

Just doing a little Disney dreaming (don't we all do that from time to time.. lol) and looking on DISboards DL dining options and I'm seeing a lot of healthy eating options. Seems like more healthy options than normally I notice at WDW. NOTE: I have never really looked for healthy eating options at WDW, hence my need for participation in this challenge. :rotfl2: At Disneyland I found lots of counter service places with veggie shish kabobs, baked potatoes, corn on the cob. Wow. I think that *maybe* with a little planning I can stay OP when I go down for the race in two weeks!! YAY!!!:cheer2::cheer2:

Hi guys! Just checking in for today. Trying to still get all this water in! Doing pretty well!

Made it to the gym this morning for spin, and boy was it a butt kicker! She must have heard I joined this challenge!

Today totaled 6 trips to the gym this week total! Some work outs just an hour, some 90 minutes!

I stayed under my calories every day but Monday.

I weighed in, but the scale at my gym was off, and wouldn't seem to balance evenly. When I got on despite knowing it was off, it said I was 2lbs heavier than last week :headache:

I weighed myself on my wii fitt when I got home and it said I was down 2 since last week, which makes more sense than a gain, seeing as I cut out 500 cals per day and worked out 6 times!

Mentally it bummed me out..even though I know my clothing fits better. I hate that stupid number!

Anywho, I'm proud of myself for making it to the gym that many days and I feel great..and sore lol!

Tonight is pizza night and it is the one thing that I am not cutting out at all! We go with my DD's BFF's family every Friday and it really makes me work out harder, knowing that on Friday I will have my delish pizza dipped in ranch dressing! Fatty I know.. but I plan my calories accordingly!

Tomorrow is my skip the gym day in order to give my body a rest! Sunday I will be back though! I also have another cheat tomorrow night as it is date night with my DBF :D I'll plan calories accordingly as well! and if I go over, thats OK!

QOTD- I'm slightly superstitious! But today ended up being pretty great!

I just sent my WI, and I am down 6 pounds from January 1st! Woo hoo!!!:cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1:
 Great job! Have a great run at the Tinkerbell! I love exercising in the south or CA!!! Have a great race!! Good Luck tomorrow withe the cold.

:yay::cool1: Great job getting to the Gym! I hate the number too!!! I never wear my wedding rings, no reason just not a jewelry gal. Today I slipped them on and they were lose! I am only down 3 pounds but 8 pounds from my high and it really makes a difference.

It is so important to pay attention to how you feel and look and what fits (or falls off ;)) to gauge your wins!!!

I am soooooo excited to see all the loses! It really keeps me motivated! I lost 2 lbs this week!

We had a rough week here. Very busy and a night at Children's Hospital ( she is fine, now) So I only made it to the gym once. But I stayed on plan with my eating!!

Happy Healthy Weekend!!!

Evening Mickeys!

Yesterday was my father's birthday so that kept us busy then and today my mom had off from work, so that kept us busy too. I have been staying OP though and am proud of myself. :)

Thanks Nancy for coaching last week and thanks Michele for coaching this week! :cool1:

QOTD Friday 1/13: In the US, Friday the 13 is considered "unlucky." My mom, however, always told us growing up that it was a *lucky* day for our family--not sure if that was true or if she was using mom psychology on us to help us keep positive at the mere suggestion of bad luck... But does Friday the 13 carry any superstition, good or bad, for you?

I've never really been supersititious, but I do follow the don't walk under a ladder one.

Friday the 13th is just like any other day to me because I live with a couple of history nuts and have been informed ad nauseum about the historical reason it is considered a bad day. But I am a believer that the full moon makes people whacky! :hippie:

I completely agree!

I just sent my WI, and I am down 6 pounds from January 1st! Woo hoo!!!:cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1:

Woo hoo! Great! :woohoo:

And you so totally :rockband: for getting out in the cold, cold temps and doing your last long run tomorrow! :worship:

Just sent in my weigh-in for the week. I am down another 2.6 pounds. Not too bad. Probably helped that I only ate soup and toast since I wasn't really working out while sick.

Another big woo hoo for you! :woohoo:

Congrats on your loss too, Susan! A little DL in November sounds fun! :santa:

Aww, no worries! :goodvibes I'm betting the scale at the gym got beat up quite a bit this week. ;)

Looks yummy!

Here is the Animal Kingdom Boma Quinoa Salad recipe that I found.

Recipe
Quinoa Salad
Boma
Animal Kingdom Lodge
Yield: 8 servings

Ingredients

1/8 cup Quinoa
1/16 cup Rice Vinegar
1/16 cup Lemon Juice
1/16 cup Water
1/16 cup Sugar
Dressing
1/16 cup Dijon Mustard
1/16 cup Rice Vinegar
1/16 cup Honey
1/16 cup Safflower Oil
1/4 Pear, julienned
1/18 pound Spinach, washed and cleaned

Method

1. Place quinoa in the bowl and add water. Let soak for 30 seconds, drain, and set aside.

2. Make tart stock (vinegar, water, sugar, and lemon juice). Add quinoa. Cook/simmer until quinoa blooms. Drain the quinoa and place on a sheet pan. Let cool in the refrigerator.

3. To make the mustard dressing, combine mustard, honey, and rice vinegar. Whip together and add the oil in slowly. Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper.

4. Cut the pear into julienne strips. Wash spinach. Mix all the ingredients together - spinach, quinoa, pear, and dressing. Serve.

It came from allears.net http://allears.net/din/rec_qs.htm

We need to talk to Pamela, too as I recall she came up with a quinoa recipe.

We had a rough week here. Very busy and a night at Children's Hospital ( she is fine, now) So I only made it to the gym once. But I stayed on plan with my eating!!

Oh, Nancy, so glad your DD is okay. :flower3: That's so tough on you, too. And you are keeping up with your healthy lifestyle! :thumbsup2

Have a great evening all! ::MickeyMo

Thank you so much! and I agree, I know there is a difference, it is just SO frustrating not knowing!

Great job on your 2lbs! That is awesome!

Aww, no worries! :goodvibes I'm betting the scale at the gym got beat up quite a bit this week. ;)

I hate the scale there! Idk why, but sometimes it just goes off balance, and I didn't have time yo try and fix it today!

I get a free training session on Tuesday and Im hoping to use the "real" scale there. Ill also get my BMI... not overly excited to hear that:scared:

I am challenged by the multiple quote function, but I am learning...

i actually got a decent amount of sleep last night. i made DH take over with the baby since i just HAD to get some rest. i slept pretty good until about 2am when i woke up extremely full and needed to relieve some pressure. of course, i think i expressed too much and at 5am i was back to feeling huge and lots of pressure again. :confused3 oh well, at least i got to just lay there and not have to deal with the baby.

I so remember those days:hug: Yay for dh letting you get a little rest and deal with the pressure. "They" always say that bfing helps the weight drop off--I found that was the case with my first and not at all with my second--I'm hoping it is true for you!

Michele (RutgersAlum)...thanks for being our coach this week!!!

Yay, thank you!!!

QOTD: i'm not too superstitious about friday the 13th. i DID go to elementary school with a girl who was born on friday the 13th. she had one blue eye and one brown eye. that's pretty much the only association with the date that i have!

That is a very cool association to have for Friday the 13th!

Nancy, thanks so much for coaching this week! Loved your questions even if I didn't get to respond to them all.

A big BL welcome to Michelle our new coach this week! :flower3:

Nancy was awesome, tough act to follow--and thanks for the welcome!! :cool1:

[...]Remember no matter what the scale says today, everything that you do to make your life healthier will pay off big time sooner or later!

I tell myself that each slow, tired step on the treadmill--each step of my crummy 14 minute run/walk mile will make my HM in May just a little bit easier...everything we do today is for tomorrow! Thank you for affirming that!!!:goodvibes

Kristina, thanks for sharing all the sparkpeople quotes! :thumbsup2

Really a day-brightener--heading to SP tonight to rekindle my relationship there. I headed over to MyFitnessPal this year because it's a little simpler for me, but SP is such a great resource, I had forgotten they have a motivational saying of the day. So yes, THANK YOU, Kristina!

Thanks for coaching this week! :flower3: It's a lot of fun and historically coaches have a good weigh in following their coaching week -- all that typing burns some serious calories! :thumbsup2

YES!!! Hope so!!!!:worship:

Evening all. I'm a bit disappointed that the scale doesn't seem to be moving and I'm tracking, working out, drinking my water. UGH!

I'm going to get up and go to Zumba or muscle pump at the Y in the am. I typically work out every day but Sunday. I have my granddaughter birthday party tomorrow also (she's three) and then my daughter and I are going to a Bridal show on Sunday (she got engaged earlier in December). Going to do my best to keep on track and really hoping to see the scale move in the right direction.

Okay well Alan is doing last minute things for the animals and I sent in my WI. I need to get my laptop packed up and get my stuff in the car. I'll update when we get to Dallas tomorrow. I could get on the board from my BLackberry but its kind of a pain in the butt.

Safe travels to you, Disneywedding!

I weighed this morning and the scale finally moved! I had pretty much plateaued in the last month or so, only losing a few ounces a week. My scale measures fluid, fat, weight and BMI and my fat went up which usually means not enough calories so I'm going to tweak my plan slightly this week. It's hard to add calories when I see results even if I don't lose it exactly the right way but I'm going to try. I am looking forward to being in a healthy BMI range. I feel so close, yet so far away.

First and foremost, hurrah that that scale moved in the correct direction! I had the same thing happen, minimal loss Week #1, but Week #2 the scale figured out what I was working so hard for, lol.

Well, my dad was born on a Friday the 13th, so I guess that's good. OLTL is ending on a Friday the 13th, which is making me :sad1: today...

I don't have a real superstition, but let's just say I'm less surprised if things don't go right ;)

:welcome: Coach Michele! So nice to have a new coach! I mean in the Challenge, Nancy you know you are my girl  and you did a great job!

Michele I hope you get the traditional coaches "bump", most people seem to lose weight that week! Let's all tag along with Coach Michele and keep our momentum going! :yay:

Maria :upsidedow

Ok, you're the second person to mention the Coach's "bump" so I am seriously hoping this is a reality!:rolleyes1

Good Morning Everyone! Just an quick update from me, and I'll go back and do my replies. So the last 2 days have been a drag. I stayed home today from work with the flu. I've been feeling under the weather for the last 2 days, and this morning I woke up without a voice. :scared1::sick:

Hope everyone has a great weekend. :)

I know you don't want to hear this but a maintain, especially while conditions are not optimal, is a victory!! Hope you are feeling much better and that you find the job that is meant to be yours soon!

Just joined the challenge! hi Team Mickey!
Don't have time to catch up on the whole thread this morning, but hope to over the weekend....

I am about to turn 41, and need to loose 100 lbs. Ok, my doc and family don't think so, but I would love to. I got to my heaviest weight a couple of years ago and totally went into depression - but also got a Wii. I have since lost 50 lbs since then, but have a long way to go. I have also gained some of that back and hit a plateu that is the most frustrating thing.
Hoping that I can jump into this challenge and pick up running!

GaRain, welcome!!! :yay: Major WTG on the 50lbs that are GONE! :worship: I have found that running is awesome. I started at 37, never ran before (avoider!!!) and I was and am a back -of-the-packer and love that I can get from here to there on my own feet. Oh, and drop a few hundred calories on the way! Look up the Penguin, John Bingham (as others have wisely advised) and Couch to 5k. It is so hard, but the feeling is so incredible when you finish a run:woohoo:

Weigh In was good news for me this morning! Down 3.5 more pounds! Total of 6lbs gone since Jan 1!!!! Really thrilled with that.

Successes of the week... started walking with a friend, instead of talking on the phone with her...ate at Cheesecake factory and ordered a delicious salad for under 600 calories.... walked dog most days...ate smart at breakfast and lunch all week...

You go, girl!!! WTG!

no, no, no....this is the PERFECT time for you to pop in, when you need the support! you can do it, this week will be better! we're in this together!

:welcome: :welcome:

and thank you Michele for coaching this week!!

when i stepped on the scale this morning i thought i had gained, then i entered my weight in MFP and it said i lost a pound. well actually it's like 0.8 lb but it's a loss and i'll take it!

CONGRATS TO OUR LOSERS THIS WEEK!!!

CONGRATS TO MY TEAMMIES THAT ARE KEEPING ON...STAY STRONG! REMEMBER MAINTAINING IS A SUCCESSFUL WEEK!!

for those struggling..please hang in there with me! i'm struggling too!

i had a phone appt with my specialist doc last night and it was a bit of a reality check. he thinks i'll be heading back into the operating room for a second pituitary surgery, that I still have Cushings. I have been saying that for the past 6 weeks, but i needed to hear him affirm it to me. it accounts for me not losing weight despite counting calories and exercising, and also accounts for the muscle weakness that is getting worse again and making it difficult to exercise. but for now i'm going to approach each day as they come and continue to journal my food. I have to believe that being the healthiest i can be for surgery will set me up for an easier time at it.

Hang in there, ohMom:hug: You have an amazing attitude and definitely see the big picture. And BTW, you should coach, you speak wisdom to all in the challenge: losers, maintainers, and folks who had a tough week, all of us!

Have a great drive! You have more of a haul than we do today, but I'll think good road thoughts for you when we hit the highway later today.

I absolutely love driving - it helps that our kids are great road-trippers, but I've always loved getting out on the road with a giant Diet Coke from McDs. My challenge has always been road snacks. Things I can get to easily and eat safely if DH is asleep (common on our overnight drives to WDW!). I love the mini BabyBel Light rounds, apples, and for the reaaallly long drives I'll pack 1/4-cup portions of dark chocolate m&m's for a sweet treat that doesn't get out of control portion-wise. Anyone else have good ideas for road trip snacks?

I love, love, LOVE road trips! I, too, am blessed with good road-tripping kiddos (one of whom does get carsick but is willing to do a little benedryl which helps him immensely). Snacks, hmm, nothing healthy on roadtrips except maybe bananas...

I'm not beating myself up over this one, though. I exercised TEN DAYS IN A ROW, which has never happened in my whole life, and I'm planning on hitting the Y near my mother-in-law's house tomorrow morning, so our weekend away won't be devoid of exercise. I was OP all week and had a great weigh-in - down 4 pounds! - so you know what? I think I'm going to be okay with missing a workout today. I'll just make sure I'm OP for food.

10 days in a row is a GREAT streak! :thumbsup2 Safe travels!!!

HI!! Today is a rest day for me. Time for me to regroup. I'm not on my taper yet. I am doing my longest run (13 miles) tomorrow. Its supposed to be between 14 and 18 degrees during the time I'm running. It will feel so good to run in California compared to this!

You are a trooper to run in such cold weather. I am becoming high maintenance in my old age and reacquainted myself with the gym when it got cold a few weeks ago. CA running sounds like bliss--best of luck on your 13 miler tomorrow and in your taper!:worship:

Later, Mickeys!

The formula is (weight in pounds) times .37 gives you your minimum protein requirements in grams. Example: 100 pound person needs over 37 g of protein a day.

No real maximum, except generally capping out your calories.
Thanks for posting that! I am not sure that i have ever seen that formula. With a protein heavy diet that is great information to have. :thumbsup2

Howdy, I'm Michele, coach this upcoming week 1/13-1/19. Anyway, lots of posts or not, please know that you all have already helped me stay motivated [a week longer than usual] this new year.

Hoping we all get to report that Friday, 1/13/2012 is a good luck day on the scale for all of us!
Before you know it you will be saying you have been here 2 weeks longer than ever before, then 3, then 4 . . . Stick with us!

I should be in bed asleep right now considering I have to be up early in the morning but yet here I sit on my laptop in bed. I'll jump on here before we leave. Alan has to take the Juke into the Nissan dealership to get the oil changed. He can't remember what time the apt is so I'm hoping its early. I don't want to be getting on the road in the middle of the afternoon.

Well, I guess I'll jump off here and go pack that bag. Everyone have a great night and rested weekend!
Hope you are having a safe trip!

Tomorrow I board the train to Chicago! We will see how it goes eating wise. I will be eating 2 meals on the train on Friday and one meal on Sunday. Almost all my meals are provided by the conference, so I have no idea what the will be like. Oh well.

My WI this week was not great. I only lost .2 despite having a stellar week. I'm sure it was the steroids, but it was disappointmenting none the less. Oh well. Maybe next week will be better.
Steriods are killers for weight loss. I wouldn't even worry about the scale while you are on them. Just work on making great choices and keeping those healthy habits going.

Are you taking food with you for the train or are you stuck with buying what they have? I would try to at least take some healthy snacks for the train and for the conference too. A bag of roasted almonds or a protein bar or other easy to transport things may go a long way towards keeping you away from the donut and dessert tables. :goodvibes And keep a water bottle with you at all times!

Hey guys. I'm almost embarrassed to pop in because I have NOT done well this week at all. I have not gained any weight, but I have not lost any either. It has been a long, rough week and I'm glad its over for me. Kids are out of school tomorrow.

Hope to do better over the next few days and start working out again.
No gain is a VICTORY! :cheer2: No being embarrassed, when you feel you are struggling then you need to be here as much as you can. Glad your week is over. Now the new week starts and you can make it a great one!:cheer2:

I love the spark people qotd that people are posting - keep them coming.
:thumbsup2

Welcome!
I know I feel good about the work I've been blessed to put in and feel really positive about how my numbers will look next week.

I guess I'll be spending a bit more time at the Y this coming couple of weeks as DH is OOT for work, and they'll watch the kids for as long as I stay in class. :rolleyes1

It may be totally in my head, but I'm pretty sure I had to jump and wiggle a little less to get into my pants this morning.
Sounds like you are off to an amazing start!
Love that you will spend more time at the Y-- any way to get in that me time!:rotfl: Some quiet time with healthy benefits-- works out your physical and mental health. :yay:

DS doesn't really seem to care either way, which is kind of sad. Me personally, I'm having a nagging feeling that I made a mistake switching him. We'll see what happens.
You can never know what is the 100% right decision and most of the time there isn't any right or wrong way, just the best choice you can make at the time. You may not know what was right until you have some hindsight to look at. I struggled with the decision to homeschool my kids when I pulled DD out of school, regularly while we were doing it, and when I decided it was time for them to go back to school. While at times what I was doing may not have been the perfect decision it was the best decision I could make with the information I had at the time. Give it the rest of the year and see how things are going. I think when we make a big change we have a sense of loss of the situation we were familiar with even if it may not have been the best. Does that make sense?

I weighed this morning and the scale finally moved!
:cheer2:

Good Morning Everyone! Just an quick update from me, and I'll go back and do my replies. So the last 2 days have been a drag. I stayed home today from work with the flu. I've been feeling under the weather for the last 2 days, and this morning I woke up without a voice.

I did manage to weight myself this morning and well I stayed the same as last week. At least it wasn't a gain. I also kind of expected it since I really wasn't working out this week. Also I heard from the job I applied and "unfortunately they will not be able to extend an interview" I really have to take my certification exams, I think that will up my worth. Hope everyone has a great weekend. :)
 No gain is a lot to :cheer2: about. Bummer on the job, hopefully the next opportunity is right around the corner. Can you take the exams that you need?

Take it easy and let your body work on getting better.

 Great to have you here! Don't worry about trying to read back or you may drive yourself crazy! You might just read the first pages were everyone introduces themselves and then try to jump in here and move forward with us.
:woohoo: on a 50 pound loss!

Things to work on... plan meals...drink water...dinner portions...BLTs(bites, licks,tastes)...

Keep Going Team Mickey!!! We can do this!!
:woohoo::woohoo: Double woohoo for you!! Great loss and great decisions. I don't think I could even walk by a Cheesecake Factory without getting an amazing piece of cheesecake. Good thing I don't have one here! Set aside a few hours this weekend-- put it on the calendar if you have to and make an appointment with yourself --and do that meal planning.

when i stepped on the scale this morning i thought i had gained, then i entered my weight in MFP and it said i lost a pound. well actually it's like 0.8 lb but it's a loss and i'll take it!

for those struggling..please hang in there with me! i'm struggling too!

i had a phone appt with my specialist doc last night and it was a bit of a reality check. he thinks i'll be heading back into the operating room for a second pituitary surgery, that I still have Cushings.
:cheer2: on the loss! You are moving in the right direction and even if your health is keeping the loss from happening like you would like it too these healthy habits will absolutely help for the future so keep on eating healthy and exercising when you can.

When would you have the surgery? Do they think the 2nd one will take care of it or is it still just a wait and see afterwards thing?

n another note, it had to happen - I completed opted out of working out today. I didn't sleep well last night. . . and then I just knew I had to go back to sleep. At first I thought I'd just knock out a nap and then get up to exercise, but when the alarm went off again, I just couldn't.

You are doing a great job! A day off isn't going to hurt too much and you have to go with what your body needs most. With that long drive sleep was the best option. Have a good time at your in laws and even if you can't get to the Y there see if you can take a walk for a little exercise.

I will have to try this as well... I hate using my sick days for myself; I prefer to save them for my son.

Nancy, don't get discourage by the scale. I'm not a salt person but maybe you should try to eliminate having a salt shaker(if you have one) Just keep the salt you use for cooking in cabinet were its out of sight.
I have been using this stuff called Spike seasoning. The original has salt but they have one called Veg It that is very low in sodium (not sodium free though). It has a great flavor and adds to a lot of things I make. I really like it in eggs.

Sometimes those sick days have to be used on ourselves so take them when you have to.

Ok, I'm back! Havent been around since last Friday. I just read the post where I was tied for #5 in the weigh in results for last week :cool1:, but I sure wont be this week. I had a big old ZERO lbs weight loss this week!! The dreaded week 2, or in my case, eating healthy and NOT excercising :sad2:

We have been eating really healthy. I have been doing good at eating breakfast each morning. Still need to get my water intake up ;) Instead of the "bad for us" sweets we would eat almost nightly, now I will eat greek yogurt (love the Strawberry, Strawberry Banana and Blueberry varieties, DH loves the honey). It has seemed to help. Its not something I am doing nightly, just here and there.

Determined to have a better week 3!
.

You are changing the way you eat and finding new healthy things to replace the things that aren't so great so even with no loss you have still had a great week. :cheer2:

Down a pound today so I rented moneyball to watch tonight. Gabriel Iglesias was fun, (of fluffy fame) it was a great show. Wore some really cute (and purple) cords that were a little tight when I bought them but thought-- motivation right? Well they fit pretty good last night. :thumbsup2
:yay: What a great feeling when those pants feel start to feel comfortable.

There are usually salad options at most places and some have some really great ones-- not just a boring side salad. Obviously you have to watch the dressing and I will usually pick off a good bit of any fattening things like cheese and bacon. Since I can't get it all off there is usually enough left to add to the taste without adding to the waist. ;)

:woohoo: on working out! You should be proud! I think I would just sat pbbbbbt to the scale at the gym and go with what the Wii says! :thumbsup2

:thumbsup2 Yeah it would definitely seem like the water and running to the potty must burn those calories!! :lmao:

I never wear my wedding rings, no reason just not a jewelry gal. Today I slipped them on and they were lose! I am only down 3 pounds but 8 pounds from my high and it really makes a difference.

I lost 2 lbs this week!

We had a rough week here. Very busy and a night at Children's Hospital ( she is fine, now) So I only made it to the gym once. But I stayed on plan with my eating!!
Goodness! Glad everyone is okay-- a trip to the Children's hospital is never a fun thing.
:woohoo: on the loss!
I am convinced that most all of my weight loss is from the exercise I get to the bathroom when I drink the amount of water I should!
One of my first goals when I started losing was to be able to fit back into my wedding rings. I had actually gone and bought a cheap one at Walmart in a bigger size because I couldn't get mine on and I feel naked without it. :sad1: I was so happy when I was able to get it back on and now all my rings fit again-- well, except for that one I bought at Walmart. . . ;)

Yesterday was my father's birthday so that kept us busy then and today my mom had off from work, so that kept us busy too. I have been staying OP though and am proud of myself. :)
Happy Birthday to you Dad! :cheer2::woohoo: for staying OP!!!

Birthday and Bridal show? Just remember one thing-- CAKE IS THE DEVIL!!! That is one of my weaknesses. Seriously though, if the bridal show is anything like the ones I went to so long ago you will probably get some exercise with all the walking around.

:wave2:

My jar sealers came!:yay: I went and picked up jars for a quarter each at the thrift store, bought new lids, came home and washed and sanitized the jars. So far I have a vacuum packed jar of Tzatziki sauce I made the other day and hope it will stay good longer that way. I have 2 heads of lettuce in the fridge that I will wash and cut up this weekend and hope that means less work during the week for great salads!

I met my friend for breakfast at IHOP. I ordered a Rooty Tooty meal-- 2 scrambled eggs, 2 pieces of bacon, 2 pieces of Turkey Sausage and 2 Grain and Nut Pancakes. No sugary fruit stuff and butter on the side. I knew I wasn't going to eat it all and since I wasn't going home I didn't want a big styrofoam carton to deal with so I brought a lunch bag with ice packs, a small container with a lid and a Ziplock bag. When my food came I put half the eggs, the bacon and one pancake away for later. I ate the rest for breakfast and was very happy! I love those pancakes. When I got home late this afternoon I reheated the rest and had that for lunch. I think it is really important to ask for a box ahead of time and portion out the meal before you start eating. I know when I am with friends and we are all talking I may not notice that I ate the whole thing when I only meant to eat half.

I also took my favorite French Vanilla Coffee creamer in a small container since it is my one big splurge each day and I really didn't want half and half or milk and sugar which is what I would use at the restaurant but don't really like. DD11 was watching me get ready and she said that was very embarrassing to bring my own creamer. NOT with my friends! I had put mine in a little discreet container, my friend brought her whole bottle of Italian Creme flavored creamer and set it in the middle of the table!! :lmao: We are both lactose intolerant too so it is much easier if we bring our own. DH said I am turning into his grandma-- with the coffee stuff in my purse (remember the sweet and low "pills" grandmas used to carry before you could get it in the restaurants?) and a ziploc bag to put the leftovers in!

So I hit the ground running (not literally!) with a full belly and did a ton of errands, got my allergy shots, a flu shot, blood drawn, bought a new trash can (I like to live on the edge. . .) and ended the afternoon at Walmart to get the jar lids, fresh veggies and something for dinner. Ran into an acquaintance near the check out that I haven't seen in a while and we got in line together so we could catch up. As she was getting ready to leave she said "oh, and you look like you have lost a lot of weight". You know what? It really, really NEVER gets old hearing that!!!:teeth: I get a little  when someone says something but inside I am going :dance3:.

No exciting plans for the weekend other than we have to go to Costco-- we are almost out of meat and that is where DH likes to buy it. Also need a ton of other things so that will probably be a "date" for us. The girls would most likely rather have their fingernails ripped out than go with us to Costco so DH and I will get some time for just us. . . . and the 500 other people at the store on a Saturday. School is out on MOnday so I need to see what they want to do. They have been working so hard and going full out with school so I suspect the answer will be stay home and have a jammie day to catch up on some TV shows we have recorded. Sounds good to me!

Got to go work on my Costco list before I am too tired to see straight. Everyone have a happy, healthy ON PLAN weekend!:cheer2:
