Team Goddess - Volume 11. Rocking 2012 Goddess Style!

Yeah - I am so not a runner. I can power walk with the best of them but I have no desire to become a runner. I am happiest in my bike working my way through a set of rollers or catching a great downhill. :goodvibes

Welcome Taryn

Well, YOU can call yourself a non-runner (my term originally used) of course. And I know you are a cyclist at heart. For sure.

But I have a hard time using NON before runner for someone who ran a half marathon.

Lisa! Talk slower, I can't keep up with you! ;) Oh yes, BOY kitties! Since I'm a petsitter, I have lots of kitties I watch and the males are normally much more lovey. Too cute that you call them puppies! :lovestruc I'm so glad he's home and not in pain!

:lmao:

No one will EVER be able to keep up to me when I'm totally focused on talking/keeping up with everyone. (Or when I'm emotional ;)) Nothing disturbs me from getting it done when I'm transfixed. Especially since I have multi-quote back from the dead. :rotfl2: I bless Kat and Ronda every single day.

She's a SAHM and her husband abruptly quit his job this week. Their home is in turmoil. A leisurely jog would be good for her.

Ronda

Sighing. Loudly.

This year I hope I've made a pre-emptive strike. I'm signed up to do a Warrior Dash in early June. Granted, it's a long time from the Feb. Princess to June,

Link please and thank you.

It's so funny, I was reading that as my little cat had just jumped up on my chair and was rubbing all over my face and purring, and keeping me from typing with her love fit!

I forgot to say that Trinity - such a beautiful name Kat.

Hi Taryn, I'm Jo :)

Lisa he is 9 years old

Hi Jo!!!! :lovestruc

5 days to Disney!!!! :woohoo: OMG, I'm so excited that I'm actually in denial. Can't believe it!

Very exciting Karen. :woohoo:

There'd always be work to be had! Now for your business card...

Ronda

::lmao: :rotfl2::lmao:

:confused3 Do you want to be able to walk at Disney? Or do you want to spend your whole time on your feet, in the parks miserable? :confused3

I'm LOVING this Nancy. She's on a roll. :rotfl2:

Do you HAVE to be the voice of reason?!? ;) I do want to be able to walk in the parks, although I feel like my pants may be so tight by that point that I won't walk easily.

I'm not usually the voice of reason. I'm almost always a work-thru-the-pain kind of person:rolleyes: But not this time. Not with PF (which is AWFUL!) and a trip to Disney less than a week away. All that walking, all that hard-surface-pavement pounding takes it's toll on most peoples feet & legs even when they are healthy. Nope. You have too much at stake here. :goodvibes

You have too much at stake here. :goodvibes

Yep. And it always takes another person to see it clearly because I'm sure we've all been guilty of ignoring injuries and not wanting to slow it down for healing.

I saw a pilates instructor talk about a good move to help PF - but I only caught PF and not the move. Too slow was my taking it in. Sorry. But it might be worth a google. And it might be a reformer move not a mat one.

Kat - cat names... Our cat is named Flick. People assumed he was named for Flik the ant in A Bug's Life. But it's after the kid that sticks his tongue to the flagpole in A Christmas Story. When he first came home he hid a lot. The teacher's query of "Flick, has anyone seen Flick? He was at recess, wasn't he he" found its mark. One other funny note about his name, I'd jotted some notes at my desk at work... I tend to write in all caps... a co-worker suggested I cover it up... squint a little and laugh... FLICK

I hope everyone is having a great day. Our weather warmed up fast overnight. Now the earth is sweating like a glass of lemonade in the summertime. Wet everywhere. I'm hoping to get back to running outside this week. 30* - yeah I can deal with that.

Karen - stop it, just stop. Heed Nancy. Don't run. Eat in moderation. Have a pleasant trip.

Nancy -The Warrior Dash looks fun. That's right, I said fun.

Ronda

Ronda, that's awesome! Ours was because when we first got her, I lived in an apartment that had a long narrow hallway. She used to go running down the hallway and bounce from one wall to the other without touching the ground. Wire work, indeed.

38 here today and overcast/drizzly. I was going to go for an exploratory is-leg-really-all-better walk, and decided maybe the 65 degree forecast for Tuesday sounded better.

Oh my goodness! I am behind a WEEK and you have all exploded this thread! WOW.

I am going to catch up - three quick things:

1. Lisa. LOVE what you wrote to me. Made me cry. And think. I read it to N. Please don't ever edit that because I will need it to go back to. Thank you, my friend. That meant so much.

2. We had a great trip to Chicago! Saw Jo! Woo! More on that later, unless she has already filled you in!

3. I am still tracking and exercising. My weigh in day is now Saturday - keeps me honest on Sat night! I've lost 7lbs since the beginning of January. I am very pleased with that. Very.

Exercise: Just did my 6 miles today!!!

Doing my long runs on Sunday mornings, yoga on Monday nights. Short run Tuesday, Zumba Wednesday evening; short run Thursday. Friday and Saturday rest. This is HUGE for me - to do two exercise classes at 6:30pm and leave dinner to DH, to take Em to the gym three days a week in childcare - huge. I do the Tuesday run after her piano class so it's a bit of rush to get her home, homework done, snack, change clothes, piano but I am trying. Thursdays I am going while she is in dance class - it's a tight schedule since we have her BFF that day, too, but I am trying also.

I have to be totally on top of housework and my food, since I have no break, no lunch, nothing in my 6 hour work day - so it's just a tight schedule all over. But again, I am doing my best - that's all I can do! I'm just impressed I HAVE a commitment to this!

Off to bed - I'll start catch up tomorrow!

But again, I am doing my best - that's all I can do! I'm just impressed I HAVE a commitment to this!

You're right! And with so many truly important things on the schedule it can be difficult! But you are handling it so well right now. I'm so happy for you!

I basically took the weekend off. Well, not totally "off", but I didn't work out and I didn't track. I did eat reasonably and still haven't had any alcohol. I have been on the wagon fully and completely since New Years Eve! ME! The queen of wine! I'm amazed with myself on that one

This morning is cold and drizzly here. Totally ugly out, and going to get uglier as the day goes on. Super. I was hoping to get a few "outdoor" miles in today but it's not going to happen. I'm scheduled for 9. That's a whole lotta time with the TM <bleh>

Love it. And let me just say - sighing - NO TUNNELS that I can find. Like Ms. Megan will have. The wires are enough - one needs to not feel trapped. :thumbsup2

But the Warrior Roast? :scared1:

Wait, I guess I should be supportive and not point out my least favourites. :rotfl2:

 The Warrior Roast isn't even the one that scares me! It's the wall. I'm totally and completely freaked at the thought of having to get over a wall! :scared1: That and the repelling down the "steep ravine" :scared1: I've never repelled before. :crazy2: There's still time to learn though. Plenty of time. right? :faint:

Ummmm, what speed does an almost 3 hour drive become a two? :rotfl2: ;);)

Once I get back onto the turnpike? Way faster than my little Ford Escape should be driving. I can't break the ****** Boston driver in me, especially when the drive is so... straight. I'm working on it though-- it's a New Year's resolution!

It usually takes me a little over 2.5 if I stop. Since my bladder is about the size of one of Mickey's pants buttons.... I stop a lot.

Liz, awesome. :goodvibes

Down 1.6 from last week, a total of 12.6.

No walk for me yesterday, it was too darn cold. 38 and drizzly. No thanks. Tomorrow is in the 60s so I figured I would wait and go then.

Wow Liz, that is some schedule! :worship: Jo has NOT filled us in, so you must! Can't wait! :)

It's a bit ambitious, right? I noticed when writing it out I am not weight training - I would love to throw that in Friday or Saturday but although I know it would help the race, I think it has to wait until after!

I am SO impressed that you have been off alcohol for 23 days! :cool1:

Good luck with the dreadmill. No indoor track close? Can you put one in your pole barn? I do love the indoor track!

YAY Kat! Is Monday your weigh in day? That is so much weight to lose! In what, three weeks? WOW.

GOOD GRIEF! I am only on page 9!!!

Today was very busy will a visit with a good friend., We had a blast, got to say good bye twice, due to a misplaced hand bag.

This was me!!!! Thanks, Jo, for being on the downlow for me!!!!

Here is me at 215-220??????
GG was a snorefest in my opinion. Hopefully, the SAG awards is better.

1. You look fantastic there!
2. I had DH Tivo the GG. He will have to Tivo the Oscars, as these ladies never want to sit in the DVC and watch it! Imagine!!!! :scared1:

I have Plantar Fasciitis, or a mild case of it. Right now you are saying to yourself..."is there anything NOT wrong with Karen?" BUT, this may sound crazy, I'm actually glad!

I TOTALLY AGREE. Like, thank GOD you got a diagnosis and you can deal with it! Woo! to that.

I'm starting over new. I'm going back to my higher protein and lower bad carb diet (just the bad ones, keeping the good ones).

This is fantastic, EE!

Cool! It would be great to meet IRL. We're staying at Bonnet Creek Resort. Tried it last year and it cannot be beat for location and value. Is this a band trip, too?

I think the Princess is off the table. DGF and I want to go someplace really warm and February looks like the month to do it. Thinking Puerto Rico.

I am going to BC in hmm 4 weeks! Thank you for the pm about it!

I'm bummed about the Princess, but heck, I'd pick Puerto Rico, too!

WOW! I forgot how quickly this thread moves! I was a regular back in the good old days (2008ish) and fell out of touch. Thank you to Liz for reminding me how much I enjoyed being part of this group.

YAY KIM!!!!! So glad you are back!

One of my cats is sick. At vets right now.

So I'm not coming to cheer you on. For sure not.

Lisa, I am glad kitty is better. And sad you cannot make it. One day, though. One day!

Hi Kim, I'm Jo

Lisa I have a dog. A rottie, and it costs $250 just to walk into the vets office.

And this is the FIRST we have heard of it!!!! :rotfl2: He is SO sweet, this dog.

YAY Kat! Is Monday your weigh in day? That is so much weight to lose! In what, three weeks? WOW.

Yes, Monday is weigh in for me. It has in the past helped keep me a bit more honest on weekends!

I recommitted to this on Jan 4, so just under three weeks, yes. However, I had gained a rather extreme amount of weight in the last half of December, so I think a good 5-7 lbs of it is "faux weight" from Christmas/NY bad eating and drinking bloat. I'll still take it though!

Pole barn. :rotfl2:
