Team Goddess - Volume 11. Rocking 2012 Goddess Style!

Nancy - I hope Erin isn't too brutal during pregnancy mood swings and training sessions! I must find a brownie recipe that I can have. Ummm, chocolate!

I just love hearing all of the pet stories! Big time critter lover! I do miss having farm animals (did I ever share that we once had a bull named Prince?). One of these days I will have more animals, but for now I have a chihuahua with little dog syndrome. My dog is on my baby cousin's must catch list (he is 5 months old and like a nephew to me).

Karen - I hope your PF is better before you head to the world.

Rhianna - I hope the heart issue is mild. That can be scary. Maybe next year for the Princess visit.

And now I better post my tidbits before Lisa makes it to Indiana to put me in my place. :cutie:

adsrtw - aka Amiee & EE. Tinker Belle will always be my favorite (she was also my favorite pony too).

Age: 36
Height: 5'-4" - short end of the genetics stick. My dad was a foot+ taller than me and mom is 5'-8"
Weight: 204
Personal Stats: Mom to two wonderful kids who love meeting my friends, full time call center supervisor, last semester as an undergrad, oh and I have an online business simply because I need something else to do. :)
Live in: Evansville, IN - midway between Louisville & St. Louis
Favorite Park: Magic Kingdom
But I am a sucker for: Star Tours!!
Passions: Travel, fundraising
Important to know: It's better to start something and struggle than to sit back and wonder 'what if I...'
Weight loss plan and goals: Following low bad carb, higher veggies and protein. I tend to obsess over the scale, so I am going to weigh every other week this time

 I'm sorry that you won't be able to make it to the Princess!

I also wanted to say, that my father has a-fib. If that's what it turns out to be, I'll gladly share his story with you if you want. Just know that there are a number of "types", and different treatment options depending upon your particular case. :flower3:

Rhianna - I hope the heart issue is mild. That can be scary. Maybe next year for the Princess visit.

Thanks guys! It's funny, I think I'm more stressed out by having to rest and not exercise than by potentially having a-fib. I was just getting into a great groove! How on earth will I go back to hitting the gym at 5am now that I'm getting used to sleeping in until 7? :lmao:

I really do think it's due to a lot of stress that I've been under between work, family, and moving across country with three weeks notice for a new job. The dehydration at the race probably just kicked it into overdrive. I had my one day pity party, but I'm hopeful that I'll be back and running in a month or so... if I haven't decided to totally go Jabba on everyone by then :)

Down 1.2.

Beyond pleased. Why? Major changes beyond that. You know the feeling you have during a workout where you actually feel the change. The best. Beyond clothes - beyond scale.

And I'm feeling strangely at peace. :rotfl2: And sort of keep waiting and waiting for that to change. :lmao: Yes ridiculous thought process. :goodvibes There will be gains and mental setbacks - a given but I really feel something has changed mentally. The best.

I have to go. Took me ages to get on here. Will be back later tonight/tomorrow - have to catch up with everyone.

MKKelly!!!!! Goal? Get your goal butt over here.

Rhianna - wow - frustrating. But I have to say I laughed loudly at the "go Jabba".

And Amiee. I was so excited to have you back I missed that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And usually I'm bang on. Smiling.

Rhi when will u know more if it is a-fib or just a freak one time thing?
I hope its nothing major.

Lisa way to go on the loss, I want a free fall like Nancy

I want a free fall too, but I know that is harder to sustain. I want to stop the roller coaster.

Discovered a fit frappe at a local bakery - 16oz 130 cals 20g protein 3.5 fat and under 1g sugar. They gave me the container so I could track this am. Lots of vitamins too.

EE - good heavens! How do they get so much protein in there? How was it? From time to time I attempt to get a bump of protein after my morning runs. I've made Greek yogurt smoothies, but it's still only 14g.

Lisa - yea change! I know exactly what you mean. Feeling the change trumps the scale every time. Happy for you.

I need to be reined in. I've gained, eh, six pounds since the marathon. I've gotten back on the treadmill and that helps suppress my appetite. Looking at myfitnesspall, it's about 4 pounds over where I was a year ago. That makes me smile. BIG smile.

WOW! I forgot how quickly this thread moves! I was a regular back in the good old days (2008ish) and fell out of touch. Thank you to Liz for reminding me how much I enjoyed being part of this group.

Hi Kim!

Listen Ms. Reminiscing - could we have a bio? :3dglasses Or some life update. :rolleyes1

:lmao:

Made it most of my work day without cheating. I'm not a meal planner either.

This is all I can ask for when I'm at work!

Hi to all of the old friends and the new ones. I feel a bit like both given that I haven't been here much in the past year. My workaholic nature took over and the results have not been all good. I am trying to find some balance in my life again and I am going to need all the help I can get.

This. I'm struggling at the minute with the work/having a life balance. Its just so busy at work, everyone is feeling the pressure - blah.

Long story short, what I thought was dehydration on marathon weekend was actually a combination of dehydration and a potential heart problem.

Scary! I hope everything turns out well

Oh did I mention that she's pregnant? Erin I mean. Great. The little fireball is multiplying :rotfl2: Ah well, it will only be a couple of months before I can out-run her :rotfl2:

:rotfl2:

MKKelly!!!!! Goal? Get your goal butt over here.

Goal - blah! I'm 7lbs over at the minute (half a stone!!!) but I'm working on it. Slowly but surely!

Hope everyone is well! Me - well its Friday, work is done for the week and I'm about to veg out and watch NCIS. All good :lovestruc

Welcome Taryn. :goodvibes

On the purple - :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2:. Totally entertaining.

To me I mean. Probably not to your foot/leg or your doctor. ;)

It's such a surprise that you and Erika mesh. :rolleyes1 ;) Kind of the same chip that would make someone dive into a lake - in freezing water of course - to get a screw that fell. popcorn:: I love that ridiculous chip. :lmao:

Eirka - if you're shooting for the most annoying person of the month.....

Well you're winning. :rolleyes1

Katy Perry's asking "are you brave enough to let me see your peacock?".

Just a question - but is this an alien man she's talking about? I didn't realize it took bravery. :rotfl2: The things I'm unaware of.....popcorn:: ;)

Oh no! :sad1: Poor kitty! And poor ME! :rolleyes1 I was so, so hoping that you would come. Crap. You're going to make me do this race again next year aren't you? Oh Lisa. My doctors are going to KILL me when I tell them

ohmygoodness. I never told you my latest "at least I have legs story".

So, as most of you know, just before Christmas I was diagnoised with arthritis in my left hip. Not fun. Or curable. But with the right treatments, managable. I was having a really hard time accepting the fact that I had to adjust some things in my life, and that my doctors (3 of them now), my physical therapist AND my personal trainer all were telling me that this upcoming Princess should be my last.

I was at the gym feeling sorry for myself as I limped my way thru a ridiculously short run - like 2 miles. (which is, Lisa, SHORT in terms of training, so don't argue with me!) when in walked a woman with one arm. She had been coming fairly regularly so it wasn't a big surprise.

Then (same day) a middle aged man came in. I'd seen him a couple times before, sporadically. He has a prosthetic leg. Again, I'd seen him previously so no huge "ah-ha" for me.

BUT! (yes, still the same day) a young guy - maybe in his 20's? - came in. With crutches, and a prosthetic leg. This whole situation was clearly new to him as his movement was awkward and unsure.

Somebody was clearly trying to send a message to me. I shut up and finished my run, and haven't complained since no matter HOW my hip felt.

Ok there settle down  You aren't battling plantar faciitis now are you!

The kitty pic is adorable!:lovestruc

My kitty is anything BUT adorable. The two older girls are fine. (well, truth be told, I think the old lady is getting feline alzheimers, which is kinda cute sometimes). But the little monster? Annoying as all he!!. To call him "little" is not accurate either. He's at least 10 pounds now. And smelly :rotfl2: really, he's a boy (yes, neutered. I'd say "fixed" but my kids would say "broken") and he's insane, crazy, stupid. He jumped into the refrigerator last night when I was cleaning up after dinner. IN it. And he tries to climb in the feezer, cabinets, dishwasher...everywhere. Totally irritating. Attacks everything except his toys. He is constantly getting himself kicked out of the house.

Anyone want a kitty? :cat: Who could resist after a glowing recommendation like that?

So much to say ....

Princess - So sad for me. So sad. The thought of following you guys from home makes me so frustrated. And I'm afraid I won't be giving and loving enough not to be crying mad if I do. I'll be way too bitter and jealous to follow you all around your drunken WS whirl.

BUT I will try for NYC Nancy. It costs me nada - well besides the annoying tolls. popcorn:: I stay at a friend's place so it's just gas and eating. And THAT I'm skilled at doing on the cheapest of cheap. If I can do it - it will be the week before you leave for FL. That's our March break. Well Spring break to you anti-taxation people.

Your kitty - he's a male. That's it. I told Jean if she was getting cats I must have a male cat and two. I LOVE them. So we've had three. Frankie who is sick. Billie, his brother (real one), who died. And Neville, his new brother from another mother, because when Billie died for MONTHS Frankie lived in a closet and cried ALL NIGHT AND EVERY NIGHT for Billie. Not something you can listen to over and over while you're missing him too. I would only do males. In fact, I made it my mission. Male cats are so entertaining.

But the jumping into the fridge and the dishwasher would scare the crap out of me. :3dglasses

The arthritis. I saw it earlier and felt like crap. How did I miss that? I'm sorry Nancy - that's insanely frustrating for someone so active and focused.

But one good thing - well I shouldn't use good - it's not good - one part that is not completely negative - it will be a reason NOT TO DO SOMETHING YOU DON'T EVEN LOVE - running. I know - I know - no one wants such sh!t to accomplish that feat.

That sucks Nancy. Did you suspect before the diagnosis?

As for your gym story - it's in moments like that where I just smirk and look up. Like "okay - okay - okay - I got it!" :goodvibes

Oh Nancy, you would miss him! .

Of course she would. :thumbsup2

We need a new picture Nancy.

The legs reminder is a good one! I complain far too much about pain, Dallas & I were talking about what motivates us the other day when we ran together and he said that other people motivate him, that if they can overcome and do it, he can push himself to do more and go farther...then I ran stunned for a few minutes that my 16 year old son was so insightful. :lovestruc

Lisa, your kitties are adorable!!! I always used to think I was a dog person(I mean, I'm a petsitter after all!) but in recent years I've really become just as attached to my cats.

Hi Kim! Welcome back! I've only been around about a year, so it's nice to "meet" you! :goodvibes

That IS insightful Karen. Smart son.

Me too Karen. I LOVE them. But I've called them puppies their entire life. :rotfl2: Come here puppies.

Apparently they don't like commands. popcorn:: ;)

:rotfl2: I had already paid for the race so there was no way I was going to miss it. I did get a lot of strange looks at the start line though! ;)

I bet you did. :lmao:

Of course you weren't going to miss it. popcorn:: :sad2: I would have been "thank you doctor"

I'm the ONLY non-runner on here Taryn. But I love me a race.

Hi Taryn! Nice to meet you :goodvibes

Lisa way to go on the loss, I want a free fall like Nancy

Really! I know the weight didn't go on overnight, so I can't expect it to come off overnight either. But come ON! Throw me a bone, would ya? :confused3

I've gotten back on the treadmill and that helps suppress my appetite.

Why is it that some people find running to be an appetite suppresant, but the more I exercise the hungrier I am? :headache:

Goal - blah! I'm 7lbs over at the minute (half a stone!!!) but I'm working on it. Slowly but surely!

I love how "1/2 stone" sounds so much better than 7lbs! It's only 1/2 stone.

It's such a surprise that you and Erika mesh. :rolleyes1 ;) Kind of the same chip that would make someone dive into a lake - in freezing water of course - to get a screw that fell. popcorn:: I love that ridiculous chip. :lmao:

:lmao::lmao::lmao: YES! hilarious. never.ever in a million years would I have even begun to consider doing that. Just a tad loco that one ;)

Why is it that some people find running to be an appetite suppresant, but the more I exercise the hungrier I am? :headache:

I am with you on this one. I ran 11 miles last weekend and then came home and grazed for the rest of the day. :rotfl:
