Team Goddess - Volume 11. Rocking 2012 Goddess Style!

The 110 has great functionality but it is way huge on my wrist. I really want something that is normal watch size. It basically doesn't exist yet. But it will soon. :)

I would agree with you that it is not small. But I do love it. Oh that is if I can use it. ha ha

Sitting on my @$$ resting SUCKS! I just hope the resting is working.

Popping in real quick before I start my crazy day to say:

Down 1.6 lbs :woohoo:

The resting is KILLING me. Although with all the free time I've got on my hands, you'd think I'd be in front of a computer a little more. Nope. I've been stuck at work long hours and then when I get home this is the last place I want to be. Today is a sick day. Hooray!

Quick rant: I'm in the process of planning a bridal shower with three other women. Two of us are on the same page, the other two are on their own page. Our little backyard BBQ is now potentially turning into a big backyard gala. Sigh. And heaven forbid the suggestion of mine to have healthy food and drink options since I know a few of the guests and the bride are trying to slim down.

Speaking of slimming down, does anyone have any suggestions on food to eat when all you want are sweets? I used to eat cool whip and better'n peanut butter, but I can't find the fake peanut butter anywhere down here.

Yeah. She may be pregnant but she's still a BEAST! She broke my husband today :scared:

Like you broke Jo? :rotfl2:

I am so jealous reading of all your long runs. I am benched I stilll have some major hamstring/ it band issues. I hope hte running stars aline in time for me to get at least 8-9 no pain miles in before I leave for the princess.

I hope so too!!!!

Oh--forgot. Yes, I use Nike+ and really like it. It used to be way off (inaccurate), but I got the special little thing to nestle the foot pod in and now it is great.

Mine used to be super accurate and now it's not! What do you put it in to make it work better? I tested it against a GPS, outside, and I was way off - naturally the Nike + told me I needed MORE miles. Darn thing!

I am using the app now on my iPhone and it's tracking to real GPS and it works out with simple math, so I feel good about that.

I am not buying a GPS watch until they get smaller, too!

Okay, second point first! Sweets. Do you crave something in particular? My honest suggestion? Eat that. Figure out what you want and eat it. Once. The craving will go away.

In general, I've found that giving myself substitutes for what i really want just leaves me unsatisfied.

Bridal shower - hmm, who is the Maid of Honor? Who is in charge so to speak? I need more details.

I HEAR YOU! I don't like resting when I want to run! This is tortuous, but it makes me focus more on my eating, there's no excuses if I'm not moving!

Whoohoooo! Whatever you did different is working! :woohoo:

Can I just say how funny this sounded to me :rotfl:

On the sweets - I agree with Liz. Figure out what it is you really want, then have a small bit of it.

Interesting tidbit I saw the other day about sugar. It triggers the same addictive pheromones in your body as caffiene and nicotine do. So your body has an actual physical craving for it. And, naturally, to break the cycle it's much like dealing with the same type of withdrawl symptoms.

AND -to make matters WORSE - artificial sweeteners are a BAD subsititue because they actually INCREASE your bodys cravings. So, while you may *think* that you are doing a good thing by eating the lower-calorie "sweet", you are in reality self-sabatoging yourself as your body continues to crave more and more.

I have definite opinions on the things we Americans refer to as "food" and how that effects our bodies, our lives - I'll refrain for the moment from over-sharing. But my real answer to your "sweet substitue" is figure out what is missing in your nutritional balance that is making you crave sweets. If you must have something, have the REAL something in moderation.

Like you broke Jo? :rotfl2:

oh gosh. I really DID break Jo :sad2: Good thing she's resilient!

Good question Liz!

Whoohoooo! Whatever you did different is working! :woohoo:

Well, also I've done this long enough to know how my body operates. It's very reluctant to "let go". Here's hoping the trend will continue for the next 2 weeks! <crosses fingers>

Yeah on the loss Nancy. So sad that rides broke down .... not really

I'm so wrapped up in thinking of that ride I forgot what I was going to say

E-I use the Nike running shoes that have the little foot thingie in it. I'm hoping it was just a mometary Nike+ PMS moment?:confused3

Have stayed in Kennebunkport. Love it!:thumbsup2 Used to hang out there and in Wells(?) over Thanksgiving weekend and hit up the no sales tax shopping in New Hampshire.

Secret-we have schools here too!:yay: (yes, that would be me being a smart a**:rotfl:)

Hey Rhi-I found my sweet cravings can be handled with just a little touch of whatever..one or two of what are they?? Oh yes, SANTA'S MINIONS:rotfl::rotfl: instead of a whole box of Thin Mints. Publix also has a dreamy lowfat frozen yogurt - Moose Tracks. Just a little dab will do ya!:woohoo:

Liz (Hey, look at that! I remembered!!) In other words, you are out in the boonies!:scared1: But SOOOOO pretty up there!::yes::

Saw this big guy on my run today. I knew it was a gorgeous day (in the 40s again), and apparently he wanted to catch some rays, too!

nice E!

We had our own close encounter with nature tonight. :drive: Most of you know that Becca has her learners permit. We were on our way to drama tonight heading down the dark road when <THUD> this giant bird flew right into the front of the car :scared1: Helpful parental driving instructor that I am - I screamed.:scared1: and freaked just a little as this bird appeared to be stuck to the front of the car for a few moments before it blew over the hood and flew off. Or tumbled off..whatever. it was off. Becca was so disappointed that there were no feathers stuck in the grill :crazy2: and told everyone at drama how she just hit a pterodactyl :rotfl2:

Nancy, I just laughed so loud I am surprised I did not wake the girls. :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Erika, that pic is so cool, but I can't tell is that a seal?

I have invited a fellow princess to join our thread.

Yup. A big, fat one! We usually only see harbor seals in this close, so at first I was worried that a harbor porpoise (dolphin) had beached itself. But nope, this guy was just enjoying the sun. :cool2:
