Team Gift Ideas

I am team mom and I have got to come up with something that the football players(7-8 yo) can give to our cheerleaders for homecoming.(under $5 or $10 since there are 20 cheerleaders)

I also need ideas on what to get the players? (under $5 - 24 players)

Or Coaches?(6 coaches - one head coach(fil and has done this for 25years so be creative)LOL

We are in TEXAS so football is a BIG Deal!!

Any suggestions would be GREAT!!

I don't know if this helps or not, but a local shop who specializes in embroidery does what they call cheerleader bags. They're the rectangle shaped bags with the cords that draw them closed and that you can use kind of like a backpack (I'm probably not explaining this well).

Anyway, they come in lots of colors and can be personalized however you want (name, cheerleader, team, etc.). They're pretty cute and were under $10 (at least they were here, I don't know about in your area).

You have my sympathy, I have very little creativity!

Another possible idea for the coaches or team:

We have a t-shirt shop here that can basically put anything on a t-shirt. You can make a design on your computer, or you could take a digital picture of the team. I know they typically run about $10 if I only buy a couple, but if I buy quite a few (like your 24 for the team), I can get them for $5.50-$6.00. Irving's a lot bigger than where I live, so you could probably find someone in your area who does that.

Can you get a photo of the entire football team and the cheerleaders? You could make 5X7 copies and put them in frames as keepsakes. That would be cheap.

I am leaning toward decorating a paper mache(sp?) frame for each child and then just taking their picture on the day of homecoming when the girls have their little mums and boys have their garters on and printing them off and haning the pictures out at the next practice.

That is cheap enough and that way they do have something to remember it by. We (team moms) have already placed and order for the girls mums and we are making the boys garters so... That is a part of what they are getting.

Keep in mind that I am NOT in Texas and don't totally understand the 6 year old cheerleaders at 6 year old football games but I have coached for many years and ALWAYS appreciated gift certificates to restaurants vs another photo of a team.

I LOVE the backpack/bag idea! Our rec department gave them out to all the soccer players this year and my twins use theirs all the time to haul there Phy Ed stuff back and forth to school.

Personalized hair ribbons would be nice for the cheerleaders. That way they could wear them the rest of the season. And face tatoos that have the team logo.

For football players, I have no idea. Maybe personalized water bottles?

Maybe get a plaque for the head football coach and a football to have signed by all his players.

Maybe personalized shirts for the coaches, but they probably have those already.

for our coaches we generally have a team pic enlarged and have all the kids sign it or sign the frame we put it in. Sometimes they supersize a newspaper photo, etc. For the girls hair pom-poms in their team colors, you can make pins in plastic/cross stich like stuff with the kids names on them.
T-shirts with sporty sayings and team pics ironed on or mugs done the same. I have seen fleece hats as cheap as a dollar maybe in team colors with their team name or their names embroidered on them. The one year my son's team got hats as gifts and they were actually still in use a few years later.

I was also thinking about get those rubber bracelets(awareness or Livestrong type) -with Team name on it- but I am looking for a place that will do a small amount(less than 250) and not be really $$. No luck so far around here.

I will just glue buttons and ribbons and stickers on them I guess. My creativity is at an ALL TIME LOW!!! Creativity block

The players will also give the girls long stem YELLOW Roses(we are in TEXAS)
